more details including how long our licenses last

link says the licences don't expire.

      • but can we immediately get updates or is this limited to the version offered?

        • most likely limited to version offered by magazine promotion

    • +2

I purchased the lot and I got perpetual license key for single user Little Snitch 3.
LS version 4 could be due this year but I will just keep LS 3 and see how I go.

    • +2

Xojo is DEKSTOP LITE version so no annual fees there. Although how useful is LITE VERSION is another question.

DMG files were provided in the redemption email for most of the software except Little Snitch so german app store shouldn't be a problem.

For LS I got license email directly from them post redemption.

      • Breakdown for Xojo is here - https://www.xojo.com/store/

Basically you get 12 months worth of updates but can use the software forever. The Lite version gives you no support and lets you build apps for desktop (Win/OSX/RPi, which presumably works with some linux distro but more lightweight) and only SQLite databases.

Makes sense for them to sell this version cheap, because there's no cost to them, unlike Pro where they need to provide support. If they get people paying $99 a year for updates after 12 months it'll be worth it, otherwise there's no loss if people don't make use of these licenses.

Any idea if you can login and download the Windows version of this? I already use a SQLite database at work, might be handy for some quick development/rollout of apps.

StarMoney and BoxCryptor say "Jahresabo", which means that it's a one year license.

Worth it JUST for Little Snitch!
I use it to block all traffic, and then have it change to a Rule set that allows traffic only when the VPN is connected.

    • so you only access the internet through a VPN at all times?

      • Correct :)

        • dark web or ?

        • @thelastnoob: Just makes sure if I access the internet its via VPN, What is the point of using a VPN if you can not enforce that all traffic uses the VPN?

    • Agreed. It's one of the few things I miss since leaving OS X a while back. There isn't a firewall quite as user friendly on the Windows side sadly.

  • Thanks! A touch fiddly but easy to just copy-paste the unique code to each email address in succession. As mentioned above, worth it for Snitch alone and even when v4 comes along, gets you in for a cheaper upgrade.

cheers. photo sweeper is brilliant at finding duplicates

    Das is gut bargain.

  • How fantastic is Google at translating German? I'm impressed

  • Any general lists you can load into little snitch to block sending info to sites?, like Adblockers but in reverse

Thank you @ozdesi! This is an awesome deal. I got it and I can assure you it works.

    It's pretty much 3 steps:

    • 1 checkout with guest and paypal.
    • 2 receive email from heise which gives you a personal code. And 8 emails to email with your personal code to get the license key/instructions for each software.
    • 3 Send emails to the corresponding software you want with your personal code in the subject.

That's it! It's an autoresponder so you instantly get a reply.

Also to note: They have other specials going on in the email: (You have to buy the first to get the second)

    • Money Money 2 (banking software, 50% off)
    • Scrivener 2 (word processor, a 20% off)
    • SmallCubed Mail Suite (4 plug-ins: MailTags, Mail Act-On, SigPro, Mail Perspectives, 33% off)
    • Commander One PRO (file manager, 75% off)
    • Cloud Mounter (cloud services use as volumes, 75% off)
    • Right Font 3 (font management, 20% off)
    • thanks I wasn't aware of other deals

      • Its at the bottom of the email where they give you the personal code

  • Little Snitch 3 will not be compatible with the new MacOs (High Sierra). Upgrading from 3 costs €25 unless "your license key begins with “34…”, and is already valid for version 4 and no upgrade is required."

I was wondering whether purchasing the magazine now would give access to Little Snitch 4 via a 34.. serial. I did some googling and it seems like you still get a 33 serial. If anyone tries and find out otherwise, please let us know.

    • There would have been a bulk deal with pre-allocated serial numbers, I got starting with 33 back when I purchased it. I do not anticipate you getting newer serial numbers starting from 34…

It should cost $25 and not €25 to upgrade to v4 when you access their site from Aus IP

    Hi all.

Just a heads up that Little Snitch 3 has now been updated and works with High Sierra.
