I got my dad the non S version for $199, it's by far one of the best, least bloated, clear screened, long battery life (probably because no bloat…) phone I've ever used!

If this has followed suit, A+

Please note, you really NEED to remove the ColorOS it ships with, Oppo offer "Project Spectrum" as an officially supported vanilla android ROM.

    • +1

I don't believe Project Spectrum is available for the F1S?

  • +2

It costs $259 with a free selfie stick from Optus. (obviously locked).

    • Be sure to upgrade to Project Spectrum (its official) to remove all bloatware and have a vanilla android experience :)

      • I don't believe Project Spectrum is available for the F1S?

        • Shıt, you're right…..

Well, fingers crossed. The default OS is OK, but there is some bloatware then….

      • Project Spectrum is effectively wound up…

  • 28 band?

    • +1

      The Optus one, yes.

EDIT: You can confirm this by checking on the optus website and noticing it says "4G Plus" which is their band28

      • Maybe I'm wrong. But I think `4G plus' does not mean band 28. It means TD_LTE

  • If you are using Optus then can get it $45 cheaper from a few stores as mentioned, see deals

Man once my S7 contract is done I'm just going to buy OPPO and Huaweis outright and go on a BYO plan or whatever gives me the best coverage and data.

Currently using the oppo f1 for the last 12 months,it is the best phone by far in this price range. It runs smooth and very snappy I have used samsung and sony for the last few years, never again gone of the days of having to spend big money on a phone.

      Good point

I still think $300+ is a lot of coin anyway, Chinese odd name brands have very decent phones from 1/2 that.

    • How's it compare to the MotoG 3?

  • How about call quality for this phone? I hope it's not bad.

And could someone please tell me if this phone can use home button to answer calls like Samsung?

    • Not 100% sure but very likely

You can set different applications to launch when you touch the sensor with different fingers. You can start up the camera with your thumb and your favourite chat app with your index finger. It's lightning-fast and flexible, with up to five customisable fingerprint commands.

  • I tried to get the F1 on this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/281388 but no luck. Does anyone know of any deals on that phone ?

  • Eightimortals not sure about moto g3,but decent specs 3 gig ram octacore chip, very good camera decent battery,if you can pick up the f1 you wont be dissapointed,im a huge oppo fan,I would buy another.

  • Got two f1s from officeworks (via lucky price match) for just over $250 each. I know it's not a official deal but worth trying your luck if u have time.

  • FYI I got the F1S from JB for $299. Just get a sales and ask them if they can do a better price and they offered $299, once price finalized and got a sales receipt, hop over to Woolworths and get JB giftcard with WW egiftcard that's bought 5% off. Works out way cheaper than this
