      With the other difference being that Xiaomi were never involved with it. xiaomi-mi.com is just another reseller and aren't Xiaomi themselves.

    They are all current models, I was in the Xiaomi store in December, and they were all there as current stock. The Philips eyecare 2 lamp is ugly in the flesh though ….even the Xiaomi staff member said it was hideous!

  "Smart" is getting your phone out, turning it on, unlocking it, opening the app and turning the light on instead of reaching for a switch apparently.

  I've had this lamp for over a year now also and it is great!
  Only thing is I've never managed to get it to work with the mihome app to enable any of its 'smart' functions.

    Not much use, since it makes no sound and you cannot see with your eyes shut.

    It's "Xiaomi Orange" …… It's there deliberately as a colour accent. Looks great IMHO.

  Great desk lamp. I have been using it daily for a number of months.

  Smart function does work with app but I don't bother using it as the lamp is within arms reach.
