  • I wouldn't mind one of those.. too far to travel!

  • How much stock do you have I'd imagine its a few in stock feels like a bait and grab to me

    • -1

We have enough for first 100 customers (there is also other specials on the day I didn't post)

  • does that say 10 year warranty?!
    or am i missing something?

    • That's normal for thumb drives (some even have a lifetime warranty)

Corsair do actually offer a 10 year warranty on this product, though it definitely does seem like a marketing gimmick to me. I doubt anyone would actually be bothered enough to return this under warranty in 9-10 years time. Probably much less hassle to just go buy a 1TB USB drive (or whatever is the norm at that time) for $9 :)

I guess you could return it in 10 years time.

They would send it to the museum, and replace it with a 1TB drive for free :)

        • You never know what they will do.

I sent a 512MB Sandisk back for RMA last year thinking that they would replace it with a 2GB or 4GB current model (bought in 2005, it was the Titanium line that comes with 5-year warranty).

To my amazement they UPS'd an ancient 512MB stick all the way from the USA. The shipping cost would have cost more than the drive itself (then again they probably have some special arrangement with UPS so it didn't cost them all that much).

    • RAM have a lifetime warranty for very much the same reason GreenGuava says. It's just a gimmick to make you think the brand is such high quality because it won't break in 10 years.

  • It's a shame that it's instore only and that I'm not near Lidcome. :(

Who wants to drive to lidcombe first thing on saturday morning, can think of 50 better things to do and places to go , no offense ppl who live there although u know what i am talking about…..

    • +6

I'm from Perth. I have no idea what you're talking about. please explain.

    • yeah i reckon, why would we wanna do that. I'm just gonna go for a stroll down my hood - that's Vaucluse, no offence to ppl who don't live here, but it's that awesome.

    • +1

I go to lidcombe at least twice a week and even I don't know what you're talking about!

But didn't Mwave get a bad reputation since they didn't go through with a similar deal that they promised?

  • +1

Last time they had this deal when they just got there Apple resell licence i think. They had quite a few stock.

There other sale items are posted on their website but nothing stands out (to me). Some of there items are fairly expensive. I enquired about a netbook a month ago and everyone was selling it around the $300 mark while mwave had it for close to $400.

I wouldn't bother dealing with Mwave. They are the worst as far as warranty coverage is concerned.

  • Cheap! But not worth travel for just 1 drive

  • Mikinoz the house prices in auburn are different to lidcombe for a reason :) What you see in auburn is not in lidcombe bit like harris park and parramatta.

  • Too bad mwave does not have free shipping.

  • so we can safely assume that these are Corsair Voyagers?

  • I live 4 streets away and I'm still too lazy to go haha

  • damn it… would love one of those but i just cbf'd driving that far…

  • if only they didnt have a limit of 1 per customer. id buy all 100 HAHAHA. then post it out to u guys.

  • Too lazy to go. I wonder how fast those 100 units will go. I don't feel like spending $6 on a ticket and then come back emptyhanded…

Sold out just before 10:00am. 2-year limited warranty printed at the back, not 10.

Also there's no mentioning of rated read/write speed on the packaging, so there's nothing special about this USB flash drive. It's just leveraging off the earlier product's reputation.

To be fair, a 8GB drive for $9 is still pretty good value.

    • thanks that you mentioned its sold out. I was thinking about going that way.

    • The ones i purchased last time say 10 year limited warrnty on the back.
