X3 Bluetooth Speaker/Handsfree (BT/FM/Tflash/Line in/USB Input) - US$5.99 / AU$7.81 Delivered @ DD4

1510

Previous post at higher cost marked as expired. Can still buy and for less now.

Recieved mine recently. Amazing value. Very versatile. Sounds good. Wow.

Cheap (to the point of being throwaway) this speaker / handsfree device boasts a plethora of inputs, a 600mAh BL-5C lithium battery (claimed playback of 3hrs) capable of "smart charging" and is very compact…only 10.8 x 5.5 x 3.5cm.

Great buy.

Plugged in a 64Gb USB of PC backup with a few mp3s splattered around with hundreds of folders, many thousands of files. It auto switched to USB, quickly found and started playing the mp3s. Staggering.

Plug in charging cable as an aerial and it does FM radio.

Bluetooth of music videos from phone is a far far superior sound to that of the phone.

Similar or same item around twice the price at Banggood.

Put mp3 files on a micro 8Gb SD card and pushed it in. Auto switched and started playing straight up. Amazing. With microSD it is low profile - seems to be OK with two year old - fascinated. Been playing for threes hours surely now, straight out of box and still going strong.

Killer product.

Ordered two. Hopefully it is as good as mentioned in the reviews.

    • +2

I've got one and it's surprisingly decent. Laughing at the English/Chinese voice on it is worth the price anyway.

      • +1

This the one that says "The bluetooth speaker is ready to pair", "The bluetooth speaker has paired successfully"…

Some simple tones would have done fine … haha

        • I have a set of cheap Chinese bluetooth headphones, I wonder if it's the same voice…

  • +1

Worth a punt for $7.Thanks OP

  • +1

    In. We shall see.

  • 2 colours for me.

  • +3

Definite deal - lowest price of just its battery is AUD 5.58 on eBay

    #Superdeal

  • +1

When you turn it on and when it pairs, does it use beeps or a human voice? I've got a cheapo bluetooth speaker that has an annoying voice (with bad accent) that blares at top volume every time you use it and it just makes me hate using it.

    • +2

Human voice at near full volume as you change modes or turn it on (announces the mode it is in / or will use - eg "Play by TF card" if the MicroSD card is in). Chinese woman speaking English.

      • +2

Thanks. If only these things don't use full volume, it would have been more bearable. I like playing an audiobook just before bed.

    • The one I have, is a Chinese speaking woman but not at full volume… it uses the volume I set it to. So if music volume is 50% then the voice will only be at 50%

      • Sounds good. Is that a different brand to this deal?

        • +1

No looks exactly the same as this one.

  • Bought 2, whats the worst that could happen?

    • +41

The cheap battery will fail and burn your house down. Or worse still, you'll use it to listen to Bieber.

      • +3

If either happen, I'll let you know.

      • +4

Last thing you hear as you pass out from smoke inhalation in your house which you realise is burning to the ground, is Justin Beiber.

Edit: Store sells your payment details and your family go hungry as your estate is robbed.

      • +7

The cheap battery will fail and burn your house down

Well the OP did say killer product in his description…

      • I bought a Bluetooth tower speaker some time ago with the same battery, and before I even charged it the battery was bulging so this isn't even that unlikely a scenario.

On a side not pretty sure this is an old school Nokia battery that has been knocked off and repurposed for cheap chinese devices like this.

    • Store could steal your payment details and give them to terrorists?

  • how about battry life?

    • +2

Been playing for threes hours surely now, straight out of box and still going strong.

      • +2

Ran for about four hours I figure. Then it suddenly stopped with the lady saying, just once, "Low battery. Please charge."

        • +3

Looks like the lady saying "Low battery. Please charge." used up the remaining juice.

    • I use it for hours (and I had it for 2 years). 4+ hours at least

  • Does it still work with the battery removed and a charging cable in?

    • +7

Yes. Plugged in the supplied charging cable. Took the battery out. It continued playing throughout - no interruption whatsoever.

I'm fussy when it comes to sound quality, any comparisons to how clear it sounds? (highs, mids, bass)

    • +35

Sick bass, crisp mid tones and clear highs is not how I'd describe this speaker.

      • The Bantz is too damn high in this one

    • +2

Clarity of sound seems fine to me. As good as, or far better than most daily music I listen to; such as car radio, direct from TV, mobile phones, malls, supermarkets. Half to two third volume fills a room with acceptable sound quality to me. Full volume fills the house (bit flat) but this is not what it should be used for. It sounds best (great in fact) on lower volumes a meter or two away.

      • Just wondering with the sounds quality as handsfree for phone call while driving in freeway?

    • +14

If you are fussy about sound don't buy a $7 speaker that's mono.

    • +7

As an audiophile I'm sure you'll appreciate the mono channel and pounding bass that only a single 5cm speaker can provide!

  • +2

I'm buying a few of these, it will make great secret santa gift at work even tho Xmas is 11 months away.

    • +5

      You have gotten cheap Harvey

      • +4

        Donna won't be happy.

        • Mike's not gonna be happy.

      • +1

They won't know how much these things really cost :P

  • +2

How reliable is this store? Never heard of 'em, looks like one of those Deal Extreme "takes a few month, maybe forever" sited…

    • +3

I have made ten separate orders from DD4 over a period of 18 months. Happy with them all. Quality has often been better than expected. [Unlike TMart from whom I have had some dud products or products below spec.]

Like all Chinese web stores allow two weeks to a month for delivery. DD4 sometimes have tracking with free delivery, even for items costing a few dollars.

DD4 website can be clunky in parts. For example their payment portal fails some days. Sometimes PayPal wont connect but payment by credit card will connect. I only use PayPal for most China web stores. If PayPal isn't connecting I try again later or the next day and it is usually fixed.

    • Yeah, paypal just failed… I'll try later
Worked this time - had to cancel the previous order - "waiting payment"

    • +1

I bought one of those inflatable couch things from them before Christmas.. was at my door in 2 weeks.

  • I bought these maybe 2 years ago on an unusual special from China for 5 cents.
Worked quite nice and sound quality is not the worst.
The "status messages" are pretty weird, as they are spoken with a thick Chinese accent ("Tha bluetooth device is a ready to pal")
Also, the battery died after about a year.

Still a good deal for 5 ct, although it was US cents, so more like 7 Australian.

    • The battery is removable. Could you get another battery easy?

      • -1

I didn't even bother trying, considering the price of the device.

  • +1

Does it support 16gb,32Gb sd card or more ?

  • Thanks OP bought One red color

  • Can anyone tell me if radio works ob this speaker (fm/am/quality?)? Thanks.

  • +2

Came up as AUD8.10 for me?

    • NO DEAL

      • Still bought one. Might be some Paypal fee or something.

    • +1

Because DD4 send payment request in USD to paypal even though we choose AUD in payment.

  • anyone having trouble creating account ? I get password problem and says "Please enter at least 7 characters, include at least 1 number, symbol and alphabet" I do and still get an error lol

    • First a got a problem with special characters, then i remove them, and try something like this and its work :) "abcd123456abcd"

  • Thanks OP, bought 2! Anyone know what the shipping time is like? 3 weeks?

  • created account no problem, paypal billed as $8.10, happy with this deal

  • Thanks OP - grabbed two. I have other bluetooth speakers but they don't have usb or sd input capability. Good for camping too when I don't want to deplete my phone battery to stream to it.

  • Has anyone ordered from this website? Are they good with the shipping speed? If I order it, how many days before it arrives?

    • +1

It's not quick, but think of it as a set and forget. For these prices, and no shipping charge, you can't be too fussy. Should be a few weeks.

  • Thanks OP, bought one red and one blue even i just bought 3 Logitech X50 from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288011

    • How do t he Se go. Part e to the famed x50? Tbh if by hey aren't at least almost as good it's not worth buying, I think I yet about everyone on here has an x50 by now

      • +1

X50 quite good, Sounds quality good and cloud enough, my 2 smartphone can easy paired with the x50 for wireless, just orders a mp3 player for my mum to use with this x50 too

But this X3 support USB and Micro SD Card, X50 need a individual phone or some player to connect to it.

Mainly things is this deal quite cheap, bought 2 maybe i will give them to my family member :)

  • Thanks OP, bought one. AUD$8.10 for me.

  • Thanks

  • I got this free from the PAX intel booth, it's funny how they use unbranded Nokia phone batteries.

  • Thanks. Was charged 5.99usd with paypal

  • Ahh, my first "I have absolutely no need or use for this but I'll buy it anyway" purchase for 2017. Thanks OzBargain!

    • +2

Good work holding out until Mid Feb for a purchase like this. The force is strong…

  • Ah chinese cheapie, please don't explode!

  • +1

I bought one 2 years ago for $0.99 USD I think, this product is amazing. Had it for 2 years and used it a lot, sound is decent and quite loud, bluetooth works excellent and can't fault it. still going!

    • 99c??

      • +1

Yes. 2 years ago there was a huge $0.99 sale on some other website and got this and a few other goodies!

        • Oh I think I know what you're talking about. It wasn't Zapals I think.

        • @CVonC: never got mine from that deal! Did get a sweet toolkit though.

        • @CVonC:
I looked at my emails. It was JD.COM

        • @Tcm9669:

That's it! I ordered some crap from there too. Some FM transmitter with charger for the car. It broke within the first 2 months. Had the chinglish woman too.

        • +1

@CVonC: that's a shame! I bought this bluetooth speaker, a bluetooth mouse and a bluetooth headset… 2 years later and everything still working well!

    • Seems everyone paid $1 or less a whole ago. I feel ripped off now…

      • +1

It's still a good price. I'd buy it again for $7.

  • Who the hell thought designing the speaker to yell commands at you would be a good idea? Bugger.

  • +1

Same item on ebay is $22.50..here is a link, but not sure links allowed?
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/X3-Mini-Bluetooth-Speaker-TF-USB-…

  • +5

What an amazingly terrible experience using that site was. I wanted my $8 speaker so badly I forced myself to stick at it though :).

    A few notes:
    * Don't use a plus symbol in your email address, it breaks their order form. Use a throwaway email as they don't actually validate it. If you do have a bad email, changing it and reordering doesn't fix the problem, you need to create a new account. Hah.
    * They advertise AUD prices, but if you select paypal the AUD amount is actually higher. You have to set it back to USD and use a good credit card to get it for the advertised price.

  • +5

27c cheaper and you get 119 more + votes…Ozbargain is a really tough crowd!! Good find!

    • +2

OzBargain is funny that way. My theory is that most people don't look at "new deals" unless they hit the front page. If your older deal had enough votes to hit the front page then you'd hit your everyday OzBargainers like we see here and bam!

OzBargain makes is especially effort-driven to see new deals and forum posts on mobile, let alone topics more than a day old on desktop. Only the dedicated will bother.

      • I always head directly to /deals to ensure I see everything in chronological order, as there's a lot of bargains that might not get many votes but turn out to be really good for specific users, given we are a very diverse community.

As for the feedback, it's nice to get a lot of positive votes, but doesn't make or break it, I suppose it can be a tough time for new users who think they are bringing a great deal only to be shot to pieces by the more experienced & cynical (myself included) members, hell I had some polesmoker try & have be banned for complaining about new users not reading the guidelines.

It is a tough & fickle place, but we are all here for the great deals, the banter and the sense of community you get when random faceless people from across the country unite to leverage a deal, exploit a loophole or help someone with advice. I really enjoy it, used to be Whirlpool for life but this is where I fit in.

    • +2

Let me introduce you to OZB mindless voting crowd who cant even check the price history (like camel-3x) through OZB web search

  • Hmmm

Didn't need one, so I bought TWO.

  • Got it! Didn't expect it to come so quick (so how exactly do they ship it from Hillsdale, NSW?). More compact than I expected.

Tip. When they say to press a button for long they mean loong. Until you turn up the volume you won't understand all the impressive-for-size reviews (though it might get choppy). And of course to turn the volume up you press down…maybe the factory only had triangular buttons and the guy designing the box accidentally made the left-most button a down before he sent off an order for a million.

    • +2

how exactly do they ship it from Hillsdale, NSW?

Looks like they ship in bulk to Sydney from China, then use http://eretaillogistics.com.au/ to split the package and deliver locally. Use your tracking number to see.

      • Thanks for the info. I was going to check before but then I remembered how clunky logging in was before.

That was what I suspected but I couldn't imagine using an Australian service would make it cost-effective.

  • just received mine…so far too good (for the money spent…)

  • Received.
I had ordered two more on 16th Feb to add to my potential presents pile as it proved to be such a great low cost gadget.
    Received today - 28th Feb.

  • +1

    Received.
Very impressed with delivery speed. Extremely impressed with the quality/dollar.
Definitely a good buy and will be buying a few more.

  • +1

Just got mine. Not too bad. The sound quality is tinny, but somewhat acceptable at that price. I've seen/heard small, "burger" shaped ones that can do better quality but do cost a bit more. The chinese woman voice is very brief and not too loud, and only seems to be used for mode changes. Other status notices, such as turning on and pairing are done with beeps, so it's not annoying as another brand I had. Probably okay as gifts to parents or small kids.

  • +1

Just wanted to thank the OP. I ordered 2 (for that price I might as well get a back up) and they arrived today. Fast postage and the sound is, indeed, superior to my little phone speaker.
    Surprisingly good quality.

    Cheers!

  • +1

Got mine 3 days ago. Very happy at this price. The sound is pretty loud and clear. No complain. Even the FM radio sounds good. Waiting for to order another 2 for my parents.

  • +1

got mine this morning. was surprised by the size, and the volume that comes out of it.

    • It is so cute!
