      • How long after you purchased did you attempt to use?
        1hr or longer?

        • Best to wait out the 24 hours.

        • Wait or not wait the choice is yours, if it doesnt work then just wait longer.

        • @Turd:
It actually says on the pack that they may void it if tried before 24 hours. Seems a bit over the top

        • Can confirm that you can use the Visa card straight away

        • @nightelves: Yep used mine too!

        • @nightelves:
No problem using my Visa cards around 2 hours after activation.

    • Tried mine two hours later and worked

  • Woolworths is monitoring OzB !!!

    • By not carrying any stock in a lot of stores for their catalogue special?

      • +1

So often the case with Woolworths.
Usually have one or two of the Wifi modems which instantly sell out at my local. Rarest thing ever to actually score one during the catalog period

        • Like baby forumla, maybe people are selling these over in China???

        • So true. I've gone in a few different times ( and sometimes to multiple stores) when they've had deals on Wifi mobile broadband modems and they rarely seem to be in stock.

Also no stock of $100 Visa gift cards at Melbourne QV store.

        • @Underlord:

There was a few there at lunchtime. Guess it has since sold out.

        • @TurdResponse to their toxic Visa gift cards made of Melamine scandal…

  • Damn plenty of stock in woolies glenferrie vic at lunch time, nothing now :(

  • Went to four stores today… All had the same story… One person came and bought in bulk….:(

    • I went to 3 stores too.
      The third one had stock.
I believe it would have been 5 to 10 people as the limit is 10.

      • or one person with 3-4 EDR cards

      • Where did you go?

        • In WA
          Garden City
          Southland
          Riverton

  • From previous deals; do they usually restock within tbe catalog period?

    • +4

They usually do, but people usually end up checking every day so best to line up in the morning.

This was the scene at a counterfeit Woolworths store (the logo is white not green) of OzBargainers lining up this morning before the store opened.

  • Keep transaction less than 500 Dollars to not require verification.
Saying that no one said anything when I bought the cards.

It says 24 hours however you should receive a another slip per card with an activation confirmation (make sure you keep this slip if you have problems).
This is in case their system has a delay in activation.

  • Cashrewards so busy processing gift cards… I used to get mine after an hour. Been waiting for 3 hours now.

    • +1

With Visa gift cards sold out almost everywhere, it is a big risk now!

    • They have recently upgraded their system I believe, and even normal credit cards take much longer than an hour (I have waited over 24 hours last week), so it could be due to that.

    • Got all my gift cards within 2 hours no hassle

    • Hey superready, what do you enter under "cardholder name" while buying online? I bought yesterday by adding my name as Cardholdername but order still says "Payment Pending". Not sure how long it gonna take.

  • seems that everywhere ran out of stock !

  • They mostly bullshit about being sold out. They dont have stock to begin with or very low numbers. I went to 3 stores between 6 and 7am this morning. 2 had none, and 1 store had 4. All 3 stores though had more than 120 of the $50 cards between them.

    • +1

Not necessarily true. They probably just hadn't put the stock out. I went to one store at 7am and they had none. Came back a little later and they had heaps.

  • No stock in Metro Melbourne Central…

  • There will probably be plenty of stock in country stores.

    • hmm.. worth the ride over the weekend just to get 10% ??

      • Petrol, time, k's on car.
        …doubt it

  • read all the comments it seems they ran out of stock in NSW and VIC. I am in QLD and went to 3 stores this afternoon, there was plenty, will check them again tomorrow when I got more eWish Cards. I'll also take a risk and buy the 11th card to test if we can buy more than 10 cards.

    • -4

dont need to report back to us

      • At least you now have money to buy your Sydney property by now buying these giftcards.

        • -1

too bad everyone bought all the properties, all sold out!!

        • +1

          @Turd:
Yes there's also limit in the number of properties you can buy lol

        • @citygal: is there? Thought legally there wasn't?

        • @Turd:
Relax. It's a joke : All properties in Sydney sold out like gift cards - with limit of how many you can buy!

        • @citygal: Ahh right right unless you are an employee or manager or a politician!

  • So how are people getting more than 10? Has anybody tried by just using one of those temporary cards? If I register the temporary card - would it still provide the bonus points or would I have to wait for the actual physical card?

Dont have access to other family cards

    • +4

Using the same reward card, I still earned the 2000 reward points even after the 10th Visa gift card. I've bought a total of 15 Visa gift cards in multiple transactions.

  • So many of Perths storea are out of stock. Subiaco, Hay St, Murray St (enex100), Innaloo, Joondalup, Carramar. All gone! Someone please tell me there'll be a restock.

    • +1

Only when the offer is over, so yes they will restock soon*

*similar to Australia House price and the bubble we are in it will crash soon.

    • None left at bullcreek.
In hindsight, we should have taken the cards home prior to the catalogue start date…

  • +1

Rang customer service and it's sold out in all stores with 10 ks of me (Melb bayside) with no definite restock time. Here's guessing the day after the special ends…

    • so many stores were out of stock or just don't carry the $100 card before the special began.

  • Cant buy $500 egift card in one go with these visa gift cards,

    • +1

Buy other stuff then. The beauty of this is can be used anywhere - not just on eGift Cards. When buying eGift Cards, it'll probably be most efficient to use AMEX seeing as they accept it.. and then use this to pay for things where card is accepted but AMEX is not (or is surcharged)

      • Yeah.

    • why not buy 5 $100 egift cards with it?

      • Yeah, you will have to go through the steps 5 times.

  • Doesn't deserve a +1 from me - no stock from all stores that I've checked.

  • +2

If you would like to do PayPass or payments over $100, you could top up your Coles Reloadable MasterCard using these gift cards, and then use the Coles Reloadable MasterCard to make the payment. You could also earn some flybuys points at the same time.

    • Won't work, they are owned by the same company!

    • I thought you can only top it up with another mastercard, not visa?

      • +2

Have a try, and you will know. Fund is available immediately.

        • Really?I did try this a year ago and failed.I think it is just like what Turd mentioned.

        • +2

          Request for further information

Due to recent account activity, all of your Coles Reloadable MasterCards and any Coles Gift MasterCards linked to your card number ending in XXXX have been temporarily restricted or closed, or subject to increased monitoring until we receive some further information from you.

In order to have your card reinstated, you will need to provide us with the following documents:

          1. A certified copy of your Australian drivers licence, Australian passport or proof of age card (with photo) issued by an Australian state or territory.
          2. A certified copy of a recent statement (within the last 6 months) of the Australian bank account or debit card which you used to load funds onto your card. If this is not your account, you will also need to provide to us written confirmation from the account owner that they have authorised the funds to be credited to your card.

The documents will need to be certified by an Australian Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations, or an Australian legal practitioner.

        • @Turd: Thanks so much mate, appreciate your info!

      • Can confirm that this works.

        • How long does it take to load?

        • It's instantaneous.

        • Tried topping it up via the coles website. Says error processing payment. Do you put "GIFT CARDHOLDER" as the name on the card?

        • +2

Didn't work for me either. Gave me a processing error and some failure message. Oh well, plenty of bills to pay using my cards anyway so not too fussed.

        • Yes, I just used GIFT CARDHOLDER as the name on the card.

        • +1

          @headphonejack:

Yeah I dunno how you got it to work. I even tried with a lower amount of $50 and it still comes up with an error.

        • @CVonC: Maybe they've stopped allowing it? I haven't tried since early yesterday.

    • Or you can top up your Qantas Cash card with 1% fee and you can earn Qantas Points, I hate Coles Reloadable MasterCard because it is issued by Indue who I had bad experience with, they de-activete your card whenever they want and you have to call them. Their customer service is suck.

      • You sure you can do this? That means you can withdraw the balance from an ATM? Effectively recycling woolworth gift cards / prepaid visa into cash at 1% fee?

        • +1

Do not do this, money laundering you will be asked to provide proof of where the original cards come from with JP certified documents.

        • It cant be money laundering if you didnt get the money illegally right? But is it even doable? Wantas cash website says you can only load with debit cards

        • +1

@Wootwootwoot: Provider does not know that it is a "Gift Card", they think you use a VISA card. If you load 10 x $100 different numbers, what does it look like? Scam/Fraud in the eyes of the provider.

        • @Turd:
OK right, then i guess the same applies for the coles reloadable mastercard…

        • @Turd:
Got to love the money laundering. I had the same with an australia post card…took about 2 months to regain access to my money on it after they investigated lol. "We are watching you buddy" in an indian accent always makes me laugh.

        • @Brisxr6t: If you arent doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about.

        • @Turd:
Except losing access to your money for 2 months…

      • +1

Called Qantas, they said it cant be loaded from a prepaid card.

  • been to 2 woolworths and both only had $50 denomination cards, no blank space for the $100 in the rack either?

    • I have 6 Woolies within a 15 minute drive. Only one has any left and I'll be heading there soon =)

      • Sold out?

        • They were actually. Was it you!? ;) It was probably the lady that checked me out there this morning.

        • @matrix83: Because all is sold out due to this thread, there are ehaps of people knowing about this now.

This is a no brainer. You actually make money off this.

        • @Turd:

True. I managed to get 20 so not a bad haul. Will keep an eye out to see if anyone re-stocks. Certainly great for paying where you cannot use Amex.

      • +1

Woolworths @Hornsby stocked it up this morning, I was lucky to grab 5 of them. :)

  • I bought eGift card last night via cashrewards but still no email with the gift card? Anyone else having trouble

    • +1

Its been ozbargained, Woolworths money app is laggy as well. Did you get the order confirmation and tax invoice? There is a link in the order confirmation which should give you a status. I got an order stuck in "dispatched".

      • Yeah experienced same issue too, glad I bought a large sum in advance just in case!

      • Mmmm, it seems my order says 'payment pending' used my new Macquarie debit card.
        Was under $300-

    • I think large amounts take longer. I only buy $500 at a time and get it in 2-3 hours.

    • Same here. I ordered egifts last night, but the email is yet to arrive. It might be that they work only in weekdays?

    • I am on the same boat. I bought yesterday via Cashrewards and it still shows "Payment Pending" whereas payment is deducted from my account. Mine was 3 cards of $100 each.

      • My status 'payment accepted' but no egift yet :(

  • I had to ring them the other day as an Egift voucher hadn't arrived. I tried sending an email first and got the unsatisfactory answer that it had been dispatched and could take up to 24 hours and check spam folder. At that stage it was a day and a half after ordering. When I rang they resent the email with the voucher and it arrived immediately.
