how is the screen? are the bad reviews justified?

The screen is best described as okay. It's not as bright and vibrant as some others, but it's not visibly "bad" by any stretch of the imagination. It's just that colours seem a bit dull and flat compared to some of the better screens out there.

      • I went to see a display model at JB Hi Fi. I wasn't a fan. Colours are dull and washed out. In a low light area I think it would be fine - but I'm just being too picky.

At the end of the day though, we are spending $1.5k, so the screen isn't the same level as the rest of the hardware.

it's hard to find laptops with the desired specs, unless you build a metabox..

    • I'd also like to know about the screen! Give us your opinion.

      • i have no problems with the screen tbh. i did see the reviews and the comments about screen. once i got it, it was something that didnt bother me. like i said the only problem i found was that right arm rest can be painful after a while. my mouse clicks behaves weird but i think its just windows setting i havent bothered fixing yet and that i cant remove the battery like my previous laptops. oh and i realised that theres no bd drive (but im not too fussed about that)

        • There was various screens in the previous version, so it was a lottery whether you got a okay screen or a bad screen. If you're curious to find the brand and model of your screen, you can download HWiNFO64 and it will tell you.

        • Cut a chunk out your arm. Where is the dedication.

  • good spec but I wouldn't touch an inspiron with a 10 foot clown pole.

This is one of better Inspiron. Performace-wise, this is good as any $2000+ laptop on the market.

  • Anyone aware if HDMI port on this laptop can output 4k @ 60hz?
I had a chat with Dell online and they don't have enough information on this.

    • According to an old post for the model before, it is possible just at 30hz
