      Celeron N3050: 2 x 1600MHz @ 6W (Dual Core)
Braswell GPU: 320MHz Base, 600MHz Boost

      Pentium N3710: 4 x 1600MHz @ 6W (Quad Core)
      Braswell 405 GPU: 400MHz Base, 700MHz Boost

Using the same power, the Pentium has twice the number of cores at the same processor speed and a slightly higher performing GPU.
The Pentium also has a higher boost speed of 2.6GHz compared to the Celeron at 2.16GHz.

Effectively, you're probably looking at about a 30-50% better performing CPU with the Pentium N3710 over the Celeron N3050 mainly due to having twice as many cores to work with.

      • many thanks.

  • The 2-in-1 version (touch screen) would end up ~$100 more after 20% off code. Anyone think its worth it? I hardly used touch on my 15" samsung, but on a small device like this I wonder if it would be better over the trackpad

  • check that resolution, no thanks

    • Not so bad for a 11.6" screen, or also the above linked tablet if that's what you mean. To get better in these size screens with similar specs, expect to pay a fair bit more.

  • i think this is gone isn't it?
i can only find the 32gb version for the listed price

  • Would this handle running 2 screens? I am looking for a new laptop for my mother. The two main impediments I can think of is that she opens a lot of browser tabs, and it needs to run 2 screens.

  • Can anyone recommend something with these specs and price but with a Gigabit ethernet port?

    • I don't have another laptop in mind, but have you considered a USB to ethernet adaptor? Although I suppose you probably don't want to anymore money for a budget laptop.

      • I have considered it but I've heard that usb ethernet adapters can be problematic and also consume a lot of system resources. I don't think that's a good idea with such a low powered laptop. Also to get full utility out of a gigabit usb/ethernet port I'd probably need to plug it into the usb 3 port which I'd prefer to keep free to plug in portable drives for file transfer etc.

  • Seems like the cheapest option is now $350 after discount (1 year premium onsite warranty instead of mail-in). Wonder if it's still worth it or to risk it and wait until the next time this deal pops up.

edit: well not 10 mins later seems it's back to normal.

  • Anyone received their laptop yet?
    Ordered 23/2

Received mine on the 10th. Ordered 27/2

  • Was a bit disappointed with this one. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Was trying to watch streaming sports (basketball) by plugging this one into my TV via HDMI.
Can't handle it and it ultra blocky/slow.

I know the resolution is 768 but I didn't realise it would be so slow for streaming video over google chrome and IE.

Any tips or advice or is this processor and ram just a little too slow to ask for quality streaming?

check task manager, see how much memory is free, ive been having trouble with windows 10 taking too much memory and causing paging which then eats up cpu

      • appreciate the feedback, will have a go.
