  • LED backlit?

  • stand extra cost?

  • not overly bright, no HDMI, no actual contrast ratio, no proper stand other than the one that leans it on an angle(have to buy it separately for 38 dollars) NO DEAL!

would be great for a huge photo frame if you could plug an SD/CF etc card into it directly. the lack of HDMI/ component, mean its really only good for a monitor…

    • +7

You dont need HDMI, the monitor doesnt have speakers so there is no use for a cable which can carry audio.

DVI (which the monitor has) is exactly the same video format as HDMI. For video the only difference between DVI and HDMI is the cable.

If you want to plug HDMI into the monitor get a DVI to HDMI plug adaptor

      • +1

true, however, i'm listing it as one of the negative, you could do that but id rather just buy something that has what i need, rather than go out and buy extra cables… HDMI would mean you could also plug it into other things, eg digital tuner. (if you also have standard speakers to plug into the box)

yes there is a cable but i might as well buy something better with HDMI for the money spent on the cable…

  • does it stand up by itself or do you need the stand?

    • +1

stands up by itself on the small support at the back (check the pics on pricesengine). Adjustment is probably limited tho.

the stand that is advertised as a separate deal for $38 allows any monitor that supports VESA 100 to swivel, tilt & pivot. Also allows for height adjustment. http://pricesengine.com/catchupdeals/pe10080459

      • i dont like the fact they are charging extra for a stand. Still an okay deal but not for me.

  • i think you need the stand…. $38

Edit: Correction - http://www.aocmonitor-anz.com/lcd_monitor/if23.php ~ tiny backstand ~ it is a really really big digital photo frame ~

I need a monitor too… not this one..

  • Not the best deal PricesEngine ever produced
I badly needed a monitor…but not this one

  • it has a small stand if you look through the pictures, but i want led this isnt led

  • 23" IPS panel,good deal

  • 23 hours ~ 50 mins to go …… till next deal ~ Wish they would refresh their deals every 12 hours :)

    9 AM / 9PM would ROCK

  • Look… i don't think its the best deal that PricesEngine has ever done… but if you don't desperately need HDMI (if you did this can be rectified with a DVI-to-HDMI adapter/cable as mentioned above) it looks like a good deal to me. Good not great.

  • I'm yet to receive the 2*1 TB seage HDD. Pricesengine wont reply to my emails. They are not present on skype and minniewu is not accepting e-mails.

    • Really? I received mine last friday without any issues.

      • Did you get a call from them to confirm the order? I havent got a call yet, wondering if thats delaying the shipment

        • Nope, just got the email confirmation of the order, then that it had been processed, then that it had been shipped. No calls at all.

        • I got an email saying that your purchase order is now being processed. Thats all. They have already taken the money off my CC.

          • @Durranimo: standard question, is your paypal verified, thats what typically happens if your paypal isn't verified…

          • @Durranimo:

hey have already taken the money off my CC.

That would be paypal not prices engine

    • I'm still waiting for those as well - some people received them late last week or early this week… but not me :(

      • Dear PricesEngine customers,

We send this email today to inform you our site will be forced to stop operation for a period of time. Due to Paypal keep holding large amount of our fund for some unreasonable reasons. We'll start to strive for our rights via Australian law.

Unfortunately, our site will have to stop operation since Paypal is the only payment method we have at the moment. The actual time of the suspension will depend on how long Paypal will spend to settle this matter.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by us. Our customer service team will work as usual to answer all the queries. Hope we can make PricesEngine back to work soon.

        Best regards,
        The PricesEngine team

        • The joy of using the worst payment processor around!

    • try their facebook

    • Is your paypal account verified?

  • They need to just keep on selling one item. Imagine if they keep selling HDD's they would outsell MSY!

The other thing to consider is that this is an IPS panel.

IPS displays are much better (and expensive) than the cheaper TN displays (Chances are you are using a TN display right now)

    • Sadly yes… :( Though at home I use IPS and it makes me happy. :)

I'll buy 4 if they come with the Asian girl…

    • I'll raise that by another 4.

    • come on…Mr 5 mins

  • What's the warranty like??

  • Anyone knows why i pay for it, it keeps saying session expired?

  • AOC, Chinese brand from FuJian which is my hometown.

They doing very quality IT products

gd to buy if u need

always some people say shit quality if made in China, but how can u get a good stuff with low price

wants gd products? pay more money

AOC, ACER, ASUS, ECS,GIGABYTE, MSI, TP-LINK……they are all chinese brands

even apple products all made in China by foxconn

    • GIGABYTE and MSI, at least, are Taiwanese.

    • Acer and Asus are also Taiwanese.

      • Don't you know that the Chinese do not recognise Taiwan as an independent country?

The fact is, on the global stage Taiwan is still known as "Republic of China".

        • Yes I do, but most Taiwanese prefer to be called Taiwanese rather than Chinese. Considering that both companies are based in Taipei, I'm sure most Taiwanese would prefer it if the companies were associated with Taiwan rather than China. Besides, Taiwan has its own independent economy so I don't see why the companies shouldn't be called Taiwanese.

          • @manbearpig: No matter where all the Taiwanese companies locate, most of their products are made in China. Main reason is the high polution and lower labour. Just like orther said, u get what u paid for. But I do agree Taiwan is independent in economy, even in other aspects.

        • Yes, 'Republic of China' as opposed to 'People's Republic of China' — Taiwan consider themselves to be China in exile, and that mainland China belongs to them.

I believe that officially they no longer claim this, in order to avoid open conflict.

Nevertheless, there are now considerable economic ties between the two nations.

Wow this is cheap for an IPS panel monitor.

Anybody know how these compare with Dell Ultra-Sharps?

  • damn, sold out !!!

  • Pricesengine,

I put in an order for the deal of the 2 1Tb hard-drives and havn't heard back from you, i sent you an email today asking and havn't had a reply, would you mind helping me out?

    Thanks

    • Welcome to the club mate.

I've been emailing them for four days now, not even a single reply. But they were quick to take te money from paypal. MSY guys look like angels compared to this mob

    • Seriously. A public forum is hardly a place to get official support.

Call up 9289 and ask whats going on.

      • 9289 claim they are not part of pricesengine…

forum is a great place to get a response:
1 because the rep was helping out around here answering queries,
2 it allows other to find out about dodgy service, hitting the companies back pocket is a great way to improve service performance…

      • They dont answer emails, not present on skype. So what am I supposed to do?

  • -1

I put these people in the same boat as Logitech Shop, great prices and amazingly bad delivery and no customer service after the deal is over or its bought out…. well at least that is for the small minority that experience delays for most its probably a great experience.

I hope most people are starting to realise its nice to have some security when throwing away your hard earned or at least getting something or someone to contact to understand issues with delivery or stock alas these things cost money :)

  • What;s the go with paypal and price engine??

    • Further discussion at forums:
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29402

    • perhaps PayPal got some disputes and are withholding funds (think default is 21 days) to make sure buyer receives the goods before the seller is paid.

      • I'm gonna open a dispute,too.
        PE customer service sucks !!
