      • tried them all now, can still see blur and for a split second every now and again get tearing (but not tearing in a straightline if that makes sense)

Looking for a 65 inch TV for my dad.

After including a $100 sony voucher and the cashback the KD65X8500D comes down to $1700.

Is it fair to say that looks like a pretty good deal? It was posted as a deal for $2156 and JB Hifi.

Be warned that Sony don't order channels by LCN, they're by mux. So channels go…
      1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 2, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 3, 30, 32, etc, etc.
Which can be very confusing for the elderly, particularly if they have any level of dementia.

      • My Sony does it by network order, from 1 upwards.

      • Thanks mate, appreciate the though. Thankfully dad is reasonably tech savvy and set up with Foxtel. He's just not ozbargain savvy!

    • Hi, just wondered how to get it by 1700?
      I really want to get a KD65X8500D recently…
      Thanks!

      • Yeah I'm not sure what cashback he's refferring to either. Cash rewards is only offering 2.4% cashback.

        • Yeah, I'm curious how did he do it.
Currently I don't have a 100 coupon and already purchased in JB HI FI ($2156), just wondering if there's any luck to get it in a cheaper way…

          He may have meant KD65X7500D for 1838 -2.4% - $100

How do you sign up to be a member, I keep on getting a error messages.
    Anyone have the same problem?

    • Yeah it keeps telling me that my password does not fit the requirements but I'm certain that I've added in a lower case character, special character etc. so I think the rego page might be bugged

  • Does any one know how long delivery usually takes to NSW for a tv from sony?

  • Not sure whether to go the 55" X9300D from Sony @ $2,398 or the 55" LG B6 @ $2,998. PS4 Pro, Netflix and HDD movies are our main use. TV itself not as much.

    • Sony's menus are slow (my model is cheaper but someone above said they all use the same processor), but using Android OS means you can install kodi app, which when set up is like ultimate netflix. Could be a deciding factor.

      • I must admit the idea of built in casting is also tempting! I've just grown a bit tired of the dullness that is my Soniq TV's colour output lol. I'd rather stream the PS4 to my XB271HU Monitor due to the amazing colours as it all just looks so good! That's what's making me think just bloody go the OLED LG, but then I guess I have a bit of <HD content so the scaling of the Sony is tempting as well as (i think) lower input lag for games.

Sony seems to only be HDR10 where as I think the LG is that + Dolby whatever it's called. Probably means stuff all but I guess it can't hurt to have it there lol.

    • You should be able to get the X9330D for much cheaper.

Sony has listed them for $1990 before.

Regarding menus, mine isn't slow, apart from the second or two lag when you use the guide, but they all do that.

    • Turs out i couldn't go past the LG. OLED just looked amazing, and even watching some youtube music videos on it last night the colours just popped and you could see every single one with perfect detail too. Nothing blown out, nothing unnatural. Stunning. PS4 pro games are sooooo good too!

  • The KDL55W650D - $1038 is still cheaper at Costco currently at $979.99. Just seen at North Lakes.

    • If you have membership, I guess?

      • The price difference = membership paid for.

  • JB has updated their websites t match these prices. Obviously Sony direct better if u have $100 voucher or want delivered

  • Does anyone know what the warranty is for these TV's? Specifically the KD43X8000DS.

    Cheers.

  • Please use 'Wanted' section in classifieds to ask for $100 vouchers instead of commenting. Thanks

  • Thanks, bought the 65" X7500D. Great for sport, $1794 delivered with cashrewards. It's an IPS panel, so downside is blacks not as good as VA panels but has less blur so great for watching the footy. IPS is good for families as it has a wide viewing angle. Sony has the best motionflow, makes sources as smooth as you like. Price for technology like this is incredible these days I'd say.

  • These deals came at the right time it seems…as my Samsung plasma just died yesterday, not long after getting my PS4 Pro :(
Very tempted on the 43X8000DS, shame that the mentioned $100 off coupon is targeted though!

    • You are lucky, my samsung plasma still going strong for nearly 10 yrs.

  • Just a question for anyone who owns a KD43X8000DS, are these made in Malaysia or Japan?

    Thanks

    • malaysia

  • KD65X7500D is $1749.99 at Costco Moorabbin. There are 12 boxed units on the floor. The special price expires 27 Feb.

  • Sale ends on the 28th correct? So it's not expired. Still coming up as the sale price. Still a chance to grab one.

  • Is the 43 inch Sony model still a good deal for $774.00 delivered. I had filled out the $100 survey but never recieved it. I had a $25 coupon from another survey ages ago so I used that. But I have been putting off making the final sale in the hope that the $1₩0 voucher would come through (did the survey again on multipe accounts). Thanks for the advice…. (running put if time as sake states it ends on the 28th).

  • Got mine KD43X8000DS delivered today. It looks fine! Thank you!

    • Ordered mine last minute (could only obtain the $25 voucher). How are you finding the interface app speeds? Cheers

      • I thought it was reasonable but my old tv was a dinosaur smart tv and was pretty.slow
