We could use these in Sydney to combat the dangerously low humidity we have experienced over the last couple of months.

  • Would this be a cheap substitute for a dancefloor fog machine for wedding?

    • +1

No the water mist disappears after a few seconds it's not fog

    • +3

      Only if it catches fire.

  • Not a bargain really… This is the typical eBay price.

  • This is a good humidifier…we have used it with our kids for the past few years

    • Why would you do that to them? They are just innocent children.

Right now it is EIGHTY PERCENT humidity where you live. What possible reason would you have for wanting it any wetter than that?

  • If you run a humidifier at night when sleeping, would it be wrong to leave the bedroom door open? I'm thinking that it will just allow the more humid air to escape and make the humidifier work even harder and go through the water in it at a faster rate. NOTE: I know very little about these machines. I'm not sure if they continuously put vapour in the air, if they somehow have a way of monitoring humidity and only putting out more vapour when necessary.

      • As long as it's for people health

    • Have has? Or what?

  • I'm always struggling to keep the humidity low in my house - I hate the humidity. Why on earth would I want to add to it?

Yes, I love mouldy walls and clothes!

    • Ever wonder why sometimes when you wake up you have a sore throat? This can be caused by dry air in your bedroom, especially if you leave your window open at night. Humidifiers can help mitigate this effect.

      • +1

No that's usually because I'm either sick or dehydrated. A glass of water helps.

I don't want any more humidity in my house, it's hard enough to stop mould forming on things as it is, especially with things like damp towels hanging in bathrooms etc. That's providing enough humidity.

If you ran this often enough in your bedroom you'd start finding yellow spots on your clothes you don't wear often.

        • It hard to give a glass of water to a sleeping baby. A few drops of vicks in a humidifier can also help with congestion.

    Pointless product.

Nobody wants humidity. We spend thousands of dollars on air conditioners to get rid of humidity.

  • You could get the same effect by just not running your exhuast fan when you shower…

For those who are asking why you'd buy one of these. While most people don't need a humidifier. Some people with skin issues like psoriasis can find relief from the condition in a humid environment.
