Great price on the G4 Plus 16GB from the Good Guys.

Those 32GB deals are for the non-AU version right?

Looks like the 32GB AU version on Mobileciti is currently sold out…anyone know if they normally have that phone on their ebay site?

    • +2

The 32GB is model XT1642 which is the same as what Mobileciti sell, they are just from overseas sellers DWI/T-Dimensions (overseas warranty vs local warranty) but are the same phone.

Mobileciti had the white 32GB available recently on eBay but it was around $396, but yeah must have sold out now. It was there a few days ago.

      • Cheers bud ;)

        • In stock now at Mobileciti here but white only $395.80 = $356.22 after the code. Not really worth paying 23% more for the sake of local warranty.

      • +1

The link for white 3GB/32GB t-dimension goes to 16GB version and there is no 3gb version i could find at t-dimension.

        • Argh thank you my bad, fixed that up. Their 32GB version is $312.27 after code (black only).

        • @hamza23: looks like its back in stock at dwi. I just bought one 15 min ago and its still showing stock. It was 276.30 though after the code. I was on their desktop site. It was showing out of stock on their mobile site

  • For the DWI 32GB phone, How long until arrival in Sydney? I leave for overseas in 2 weeks :)

    • +3

For DWI. I've always got phones from them in a week or less, you should fine but it's never 100% regardless of the seller, especially during busy eBay period.

      • +1

Thanks! So the DWI phone is definitely Band28 etc? Unlocked and able to be used on arrival as a travel phone for France/Spain?

        • +1

XT1642 is the Australian model with Band28:

Motorola Moto G4 Plus XT1642 (Australia) Carrier Frequencies Australia Telstra

          3G Network: 850MHz, 2100MHz
          4G LTE Network: Band28-700MHz, Band8-900MHz, Band3-1800MHz, Band7-2600MHz

          It's also listed as unlocked.

If you select Motorola > Moto G4 Plus > XT1642 > Country > Your Carrier here you can double check and also see how compatible it is overseas with other bands. Blue tick means all bands, yellow tick means some bands.

        • @hamza23: Thanks very much, I appreciate the info! Also helps me decide what SIM card to get for France/Spain!

Moto G5 Moto G5 Plus has been announced, so prices should fall for G4 models. Reviews suggest no radical upgrades and a little less convention, a little more action. Personally, the addition of NFC on G5+ is great, however early indications are not all models will have NFC.

    • Oof, I have a little buyers-regret now, I don't buy things often! But I rushed here as I wanted a black one…

      I hope I'll still like this G4 as a replacement for my G2 :(

    • The 625 in the Plus is a massive upgrade over the 617. Not in speed but in battery life.

    • I've not been able to find info on when you can buy the G5 Plus in Australia, nor approximate pricing. If it's about $400 and in March/April, I might hang off and get that instead.

    • Is this an upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy s5? Wonder if the new chipset is better than the old Snapdragon 801.

I really like how they went with 5.2" display rather than 5.5" inch and the battery is removable. But no gorilla glass… that's a major downside. The design looks fugly too, I wished they kept a slightly more G4'esque backplate

      • It depends on how you define 'better', but you can compare processors.

Personally for me it is dual sim, plus a separate microSD slot that I like about the Moto G3 & Moto G4 phones. The lack of NFC stopped me from buying one.

  • Does DWI or T-dimension provide GST invoices?

    • +1

No they are an overseas company, you'll get a regular invoice without GST as it doesn't apply.

      • dam ok thanks

  • Just bought one 32GB from eGlobal yesterday deal $300 delivered : (

  • +2

been wiating for 6+ months for GG to have their ebay sale, everytime they did they would place the moto g4 plus out of stock, bought one last week at officeworks for $298 doh!

I'm still really happy with it, big upgrade over my moto g gen 2 :)

    • I'm still really happy with it, big upgrade over my moto g gen 2 :)

That's great to hear, exactly what I'm doing! Loved my G2, but just not enough space for the apps I want…

Did you find a nice case for it?

  • The white dwi are all gone and the black is showing $303, is there a coupon code I'm missing here!?

    • Yes coupon code C10 to take 10% off ($303 minus 10% = $272.70).

  • Thank you very much Hamza23 for the great deal.

Bought one black for myself and another black one of my work colleague bought.

  • I'm confused a bit.
Is Xiaomi mi5 is a better option?
    like this one
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-5-Mi5-Gold-64GB-4G-LTE-…

    • +4

      The Mi5 is
      * smaller size (5.2")
      * faster
      * doesn't have SD card slot
      * has NFC, Infrared Port, USB Type-C
      * not as suitable for Aussie networks

      The Moto is
      * larger size (5.5)
      * slower processor
      * has an SD card slot
      * doesn't have NFC, Infrared Port and uses older Micro USB
      * more suitable for Australian telco, particularly Telstra and Optus.

      both phones are:
      Dual SIM
      takes good photos
      have fingerprint sensor
      3000 mah non removable battery
      can charge very quickly
      Runs Android Nougat

  • im still contemplating between this phone and the moto x force https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/293082

besides lacking a fingerprint reader and around 40 bucks more, x force is better than G4 plus in most way.

    any idea?

    • FYI it's $76.40 more (you can use coupon WELCOME for $8 off there). Moto X Force isn't on eBay.

It's 6 months older and I'm not a fan of the Snapdragon 810 processor but from what I've read it's a great phone. Hopefully others can give a better answer.

    • Also you might want to take a look at the Moto Z Play, slightly newer model and upp'ed specs/design of the G4 Plus. The X Force is still 64GB though, slightly cheaper and has a higher end processor.

Edit: Sorry ignore, just saw you already commented there :p

      • tks for the tip, yea i saw the z play thread. that's still higher spec (CPU wise, although nasty 810 heat issue, but review said it's all good and no degraded performance when temp go high), higher battery volume and higher res (need if or not is questionable), while lacking finger print reader that matters to me. difficult to decide…dang…

  • How does one get the 10% off from the Good guys? The C10 code doesn't seem to work on ebay or their website.

    • Working here, what error does it give? Are you logged in and using Australian PayPal account?

      Item (1) AU $298.00
      Vouchers -AU $29.80
      Order total AU $268.20

      • +1

Got it now, it was because while the paypal account was using an Australian card and mailing to an Australian address, it was originally made on Paypal Canada.

        Thank you!

  • Since the price is below $300 and i want to claim GST when i travel next month, ending up buying 2 from the Good Guys. I know maybe i can just add one more item that is a couple dollars, but after i calculate, it will be only about $240 after GST Refund and Cashrewards, which i thnk it's very cheap or even at a cost price for The Good Guys??

Has anyone returned a product after they claim the GST refund when they come back to Australia? As i might do that, depends on when my LG G4 will start the bootloop issue…

    • +2

so you spent another $212 to save $28? Not sure about the logic of that, unless you needed 2 phones to begin with.

      • Haha, you are kind of right.

Ok, here's what i was thinking: I want to try this phone if my LG G4 really dies because of the bootloop issue, but not that i really need it now though, because the phone is still working ok so far. I want to buy my dad this new phone, he is using a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which is an almost 4 years old phone, small screen small storage not that good camera but it's still working fine. So that's 1 of the 2 reasons i bought 2 of this phone.

Another reason is what i mentioned above, i don't want to "waste" this opportunity to claim the GST back to make the phone even cheaper!

Also, i was also thinking if i don't really need 2 phones at the end, i could return 1 back and make the only 1 phone even cheaper as i can claim 2 phones' GST. That's why i ask if anyone has returned something back after they claim the GST when travelling overseas and back to Australia.

        • or you can just steal something.

        • Fair enough, but that's a fair bit of mucking around to save a small amount of money.

        • LG G4 owner here. Same boat, just window shopping and waiting for my phone to die …. G4 Plus ticks the boxes…. LG no more ticks forever !!!

  • I'm not trying to be critical of the deal, but this phone has worse specs than the LG G3 released in 2014.

  • Family members Moto G4 Plus 32GB from DWI was just sent now:

    Estimated delivery Monday, Mar 6, 2017 - Thursday, Mar 9, 2017
    to SA

    • Phone arrived first thing this morning, 3 days after purchase.

      • Is that with Aust plug ? Is that same with those from mobileciti ?

        • Dwi sells international models and mine from DWI came with Se Asia plug (basically the UK plug)

        • Asia plug with AU adapter.

Not sure about Mobileciti if they would have the same with adapter or straight AU plug. Would have to message them and ask.

  • I have also received an Australia Post 12 digits tracking number(just the number without any alphabets) which is coming out to be an invalid tracking number on Australia Post tracking website, with estimated delivery date between Monday 06 March to Thursday 09 March 2017.

  • Can anyone confirm DWI version come with the UK-pin charger (the original Motorola Turbo Charger) and a generic AU-pin charger?

    • Received mine today, can confirm that it comes with the UK charger

      • Thanks. It's a little compromise. Does it come with another AU charger or a power adaptor for use in AU?
Anyway did you ordered yours on 27th Feb? It's quick to arrive in 3 days!

        • +1

Yes it comes with an AU adapter so you can use the Turbo Charger out of the box. Arrived here in 3 days.

        • It seems those ordered on Monday have received their phone in three days (Thursday). Mine was ordered on Tuesday but hasn't show up today. Anyone in the same boat?

        • Sorry for the late reply,
Yes, as hamza23 said, it does come with an AU adapter. I order mine on the 27th, not long after this deal was posted.

  • FK DWI - Once the %10 sale started they jacked up the price of the 64GB 6p by $100. Busted them in the act. Never buying from them crooks again.

  • I got mine today, 3 days to rural Oz, very fast! Some thoughts though…

    • My box had been opened, the Motorola seal cut; so much for "A brand-new, unused, unopened, original packaging"… is this an issue?
    • I'm not happy to get a non-AU charger-brick and thus have to use a power adapter (which at least they supplied); maybe I'm a naive dummy but it wasn't mentioned, and it's bulky and I travel a lot :( (Could I just use my Moto G2 charger?)
    • +1

Opened box is not an issue most of the time

The turbo charger is required for fast charging
If you use a charger for Moto G-anything else it will charge at normal rate

      • Thanks very much! I don't care about the speed, so that's great to know I can just use the old charger if I need to travel lighter :)
