    do the t&c still suck?

          and if you have a dispute with the seller, the coupon is not refundable meaning you loose the $100

          I had a few friends who bought some items from china that turned out to be fake and lost their money via last times groupon ebay deal

          Even say you buy something from an aussie retailer and later you decide to return it for a refund, you still loose the value of the $100 ebay voucher

          This is how ebay is cashing on this deal

          And then there is the issue that you have to spend the voucher in one go, and this way ebay is forcing buyers to spend at least $100

          @bockers:
          No, not true guys. Stop creating false drama.
          If you email ebay, they will credit your PayPal account once they confirm your next purchase.
          This is how i got my last 2 coupons reimbursed from sellers failing to send the item.

          @huey:
          Those are quotes from EC in the last exact same deal, except somebody else posting it.
          Plenty of people had problems with losing their money with refunds or not being able to use the codes. Please actually read the last post comments pages that Hamza23 posted above https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266138#comment-4007196 It's great that you got a refund but many did not.

        • -6

          @King Tightarse:

          As I said, since my last comment eBay are now addressing the issue by issuing new vouchers or refunding the amount so your neg vote is pointless

        • +6

          @Spackbace:

          Rather use the c10 than purchase from groupon

        • +3

          @easternculture:
          There were three problems EC;
          1/Many people had issues applying the code and got the message "Looks like this code isn't ready yet. Please try again later."
          2/Some applied it more than once (bought more than one) and could not procede and when contacting customer service got the old "too bad/so sad" and lost the entire voucher. Presumably for T &C violation
          3/Many of those who needed to do returns and lost their entire voucher including the $85 real money with no recourse.
          My neg is for a "risky" deal. $15 off $100 spend is good in theory but previous experience shows this deal has a definite element of risk and annoyance.

          @bockers:
          Having personally spent couple of evenings chasing eBay/Paypal rep for reimbursement, some who just plainly played dumb despite evidence presented (past chat logs) , I'm negging this deal due to the risks and past outcome of people losing their $85.
          Honestly not worth your time when things go wrong.

        • @Spackbace: I had an issue with an item before and used the voucher. I simply asked the seller for a refund and the same amount I paid was deposited to my paypal account. It depends I guess.

        • I had ordered an out of stock item.. Seller issued refund but ebay cannot refund so instead they gave me a $100 voucher for inconvenience.. Their customer service is excellent…

        • This isnt true. I thought i lost my money when seller turned out to be scammer. I got all my money back and more actually as the exchange rate changed. Wouldnt hesitate on buying this

      • +1
    • +6

      You mean that if you need to return the item, you effectively lose the entire amount of $$s?
      Afaik yes… Certainly wouldn't recommend

      • +5

        Woah, that is a huge problem right there!
        If it goes well, great but you risk losing all your money with any return.
        That is amazing considering how big eBay and Groupon are.

      • They will credit your next purchase for $100, all you need to do is email them.
        It takes a week to see the credit but it definitely happens.

        • +4

          Maybe you were lucky. Others had problems and were declined

  • Can I use 10% off and pay by coupon?

    • No you can't combine with any other discount codes. This $100 voucher will come as a code to use at checkout, and it will only allow 1 code per purchase.

      Please note: eBay Voucher Codes cannot be combined at checkout (1 Voucher Code per transaction on eBay)

      This voucher/deal is good for $100-$150 purchases, if you are purchasing over $150 better to use the 10% off code, or save this voucher for later when you need something when no promo is on.

  • BUY2DAY doesnt work

    • New accounts only.

      • ahh "NEW"

      • it doesn't work on a new account either. just verified this with a new account.

        • Ah yeah looks like they fixed it.

  • +3

    Negging due to risky deal.
    Many have reported losing all their money with an eBay return + this deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266138#comment-4007233

      Read my comments above, this is not true. ebay will credit you PayPal account. All you need to do is point out the PayPal transaction of your next purchase over $100.

    • yeah, super shady deal as OP noted previously. Going to neg too to warn others not to lose $85.

      • I had issues with one reseller back then and eBay favours in my case, and I got a credit of $100 in my Paypal account.

  • From my experience, I purchased something using one of these vouchers, which I then later returned, and after a conversation with an eBay rep I received a full refund via PayPal.

  • groupon sucks .. stay away …

  • Well I'm talking from my experience here, never had an issue.
    Clearly something else is going on there.

  • BUY2DAY doesn't work for this deal, probably because it's a gift card:

    $10 off your first Groupon is valid on deals $49 and over. Offer cannot be used on Village Roadshow Theme Park deals and gift cards. Valid 1 per person and cannot be used with another discount promo. The discount will be applied to one single voucher and not the basket amount.

  • Any one know if it's legal for them to say " and any voucher which is not redeemed by 23:59 (AEST) on 30 May 2017 will cease to be valid"?
    I have a voucher from the last deal which eBay/Groupon refused to do anything about after 4 days of expiry.

    • +1

      Legal.

    last transaction got problem… making heaps of phone call, wasted my time and credits… the $15 not worthed… i had mentioned this somewhere on old post about my experience. Not only i had got problems, some others experiencing the same. Deal is good, but considering poor customer service of groupon, if not in a good luck, we might make a lose, instead of profit.

  • Can I buy things from travel and gift cards section on eBay? The special eBay T&Cs seems confusing regarding gift cards.

  • Last time I did this I never gotnthe voucher, groupon wouldn't refund, nor eBay, had to do chargeback on credit card

    • Bought a few Optus $30 starter sims from Groupon. One was a dud, never could activate even tho it wasn't expired.
      Optus just shrugged

  • Anyone ordered these and know how long for delivery? I found the Woolies vouchers took up to 2 days.

    so what stores can i use this on ? have a few imports from not aussie onliner etailers that i want to get !

  • +1

    I got a couple of these coupons in past deals.
    If the price is in a different currency, you still will be charged in that currency the $15 AUD will be converted and applied to the total.

    You also cannot mixed different currencies when using this code.

    In saying that, I had to return a few items I got from ebay. I am not sure but it depends on how the seller processes the refund. I once got a partial refund in which the amount stay in my paypal account. Another time I opted for a full refund. It will first get refunded into your paypal account but then will be taken out and refunded to ebay which means your money is lost.

    I did eventually get my refund but the constant phone calls to make sure that I will get it is much more headache than its worth. And the only way for you to get that refund is to buy another item so ebay can refund you on that. Just make sure you record all your reference numbers because you will be repeating yourself many times explaining your scenario. In the end it only took 8 weeks to get my money back.

    I got a PayPal refund from eBay when seller cancelled my last purchase with Groupon voucher AFTER checkout. Seller advised they did not have stock of the item. It took eBay about 4 weeks to process the refund once they confirmed they would do it (via live chat). Refunds obviously not a service priority.

  • been using groupon for over 2 years and have had no issues, got refunds when merchants have shut down
    Used the ebay voucher from groupon in the past, i personally use it for reputable buys
    like chemist warehouse or dog supplies like nexgard/interceptor comes in handy and a few savings

  • If I purchase a $100 voucher from groupon and my ebay item costs $110, can you pay the $10 difference with paypal at ebay checkout or does the item need to be exactly $100?

    • The former

    • +1

      Yes you can :)

  • How long do they normally take to send out vouchers?

  • Yes how long are you waiting to get them im tempted to get a couple as have a few items to buy both overseas purchases so saving $15 off each order would be cool.
    Last time i got these did take a long time to get is it still same?
    I can't remember how long but was wsy longer than 4 days and had to chase them up

  • God sake was about to buy two of these vouchers right now had second thought go as far as paypal and did not follow through.
    Changed my mind and was going to get to find i can no longer get them as my limit of 2 have been used and it says on my order with groupon pending.
    But its not as payment was never completed with paypal.
    So will this pending thing go or just stick there?
    I have emailed them to explain so i can buy but maybe while i have not purchased any maybe a good things as sometimes i get bad vibes using groupon.
    Maybe will need to try live chat tomorrow to sort it out.
    There is always some issues with these guys.

  • Well they said need to eait a day see if order confirmed or not i know it not be as never finished the paypal purchase and for mow i can rebuy until pending goes lol.
    With a bit of luck deal ends and i dont get deal.
    The idea was get these as soon as so not only have i to wait till pending stops you then need to wait till vouchers are received i had hoped thurs and friday was two of them days but this pending crap delays more.
    I suppose once it clear i csn make up my mind if i really want to buy from these clowns.
    At present paying is never going to be taken as paypal part never got completed lol.

  • Can someone tell me if using these vouchers for overseas purchases if you gain much.
    I had some funds in my paypal,paid some funds from my bank and used this voucher which i paid $85 for which is valued at $100.
    Im a bit confused if i saved much or not by using the voucher?
    The item was €94.99 euro and shipping was €20 euro.
    I used my $85 aud voucher valued at $100 aud with $31.88 aud in my paypal balance and $34.23 aud i believe i had to pay from my bank account.

    Anyone have a clue if i gained by using this overseas with there exchange rates etc.
    Im sure when i did add to basket on my ebay without using any voucher to see what i be paying to paypal it was like $168 something.

    Am trying to figure out if i saved much on the $15 aud saving by using it overseas.

    Im thinking maybe these are best used in aud to gain maximum discount.

  • The 2-4 day wait is a bit of a PITA TBH, but it's still a good deal if you want something totalling close to $100. I just also try to avoid items with a higher chance of requiring a refund like "genuine" brand name products from China, to minimise having to try and sought out a refund through eBay that some have/haven't been able to get.

  • Thanks EC, just used mine, you saved me $15.00.

  • Been 4 working days still no sign of the voucher. I'm regretting this purchase.

  • Ordered mine on the 20th, it arrived via email today. 👍

    Anyone got a spare code? Im waiting for mine but I need to buy/pay for item asap. Will give one back to you. Im good for it!!

  • Today is the 4th working day already and I still haven't received my voucher.

    How long did it take for others?

    • Mine came on the 5th day.

    • Mine is at 3 business days… Not too happy as I have a best offer I need to pay for.

      • received mine on Monday afternoon.

    • I ordered on the 03/05 and still waiting on my voucher to be emailed. I contacted Groupon via the live chat yesterday but they just escalated to someone else.

  • I ordered mine on 26.04.2017 still have not received my voucher… Anyone know what email should I contact them??

    • Just got an email response, I won't trust Groupon anymore.

      Thank you for contacting Groupon Australia.
