I've recently purchased one of these laptops for general Word Processing, Email and Browsing use.
At $550 it's pretty cheap for Dell's Business line of laptops.

Model: Latitude E5470 6th Generation
CPU: Intel Core i5-6200U (Dual Core, 2.3GHz, 3MB cache)
RAM: 4GB (1x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory
SSD: 128GB Value Solid State Drive M.2 2280 SATA3
OS: Windows 7 Professional, English, 64bit
ODD: No Optical Drive
WiFi: Intel Dual Band Wireless 8260 (802.11ac) W/ Bluetooth
GPU: Integrated HD Graphics
PSU: 65 Watt AC Adaptor
Battery: Primary 4-cell 62W/HR Battery
KB: Internal US English Qwerty Non-backlit Keyboard
Display: 15 35.6cm (14.0") HD (1366x768) Non-Touch Anti-Glare LCD with Camera and Mic
Condition: No OS Media Included. Unit has minor cosmetic wear.
Warranty: 1 Year

A similarly speced New Latitude appears to be in excess of $2000, but this is an older model so direct comparisons aren't really possible.

The DFO website reports 50 are available, but this number hasn't been decremented since my purchase, so I don't think it's live.

      1) Language
      2) Depend on your work not best for work due to the resolution and possibly RAM
      3) If your work if worth its name you should be better off buying new laptops, with full NBD on-site warranty as you will write off the tax anyway

      This one is much better suited for students, or home, or grandparents where 4GB RAM or non Full HD display is not a problem.

      Exception - If you are a non-profit org.

          I hope so, I plan on buying 8GB of DDR4 when a deal pops up! :)

          It appears that memory is upgradable, my experience is that latitudes are very easy to upgrade, ram will likely be accessible after removing battery and rear cover.

        Language was in humor. Ram is replaceable, we have about 30 of these which we use at events, they are very well made and solid, reliable computers that look quite good for this kind of thing. Resolution not an issue for my use case.

        Reserve your judgement of my work and its name, for something that sits in a pelican case 250 days out of 265, there is no need to spend money on NBD new machines. Tell backblaze to stop buying consumer hard drives and pay for enterprise? No, they know that the price point is worth the potential higher rate of failure, it suits their model to buy lots at cheap.

          It's amazing what people think you need "for work". I'm an IT consultant working at one of the world's biggest multinational companies. My laptop is now a 4 year old Lenovo x230 with 12" screen, no SSD and whatever core-i5 variant was running when it was released. It took a bit of a slowdown last year sometime so upped the RAM from 4gb to 8gb.
          90% of the time it's plugged into my ultrabase connected to my 22" dell ultrasharp monitor. The other 10% of the time I'm travelling so appreciate the relatively low weight. Does the job nicely, and I can get a coffee while it starts up.
          What people think they need in the average workplace and what they really need are 2 very different things.

    I'm surprised at this end of the market the resolution is so low - HD (1366x768) Non-Touch Anti-Glare LCD.

      if its a giant batch order then they want the lowest price and many older folks would complain that a 14" 1,080p screen means the 'fonts are too small'…

      if they are used in the office then they would attach a large 22" plus screen anyway

        Yep, 1080p at this size would mean that text is quite small.
        In business environments Latitues can often spend a great deal of their life on docks attached to larger monitors.

    We have a bunch of the Latitude 14 7000 E7470 laptops at work and most of them are 768p resolution. We hook them up to 24" 1080p Dell ultrasharp monitors with a docking station.

      There's no reference to an e-cpu so I'm not sure what you mean there.

      The Value SSD likely means it's probably something like Liteon SATA SSD instead of a Samsung or some other fancy brand PCIe SSD.

    It seems they update the website Monday morning (or when they get around to it) AFAIK its only open (web chat) business hours Monday to Friday, you might find it all disappears Monday for a bit and the next batch up.
    Some weeks the prices are great, most others it's worth comparing to new stock, one bonus shopping here thou, you get a NBD on site warranty. I bought an inspiron 13 thru this site, generally good service, reasonable delivery time too…

    Happy to buy again thou DFO…

      Interesting you say that, last year I got a friend an as new Latitude E7450 through there and it had a 3 year ProSupport Tech Support warranty on it despite the listing saying one year.

      Not that she complained when I told her, mind.

          It might vary, refurbs might get the 1 year warranty.

          Never hurts to check though, you can run the service tag through here and see if you do buy.

    Spoke to them, please note that the laptop has only one HDD slot, another drive cannot be added to this, so if you want to add a bigger HDD which you would considering this is only 128 GB SSD, you'll need to remove the original hard drive, then re install the OS.

    They have confirmed that the laptop doesn't have a dvd drive, so installing an OS isn't going to be easy, moreover you don't get the OS disks with the laptop. so only buy this if you don't plan to increase the hard drive and are going to be happy with the existing 128GB.

      Absolutely, I think the difference here is the Latitudes are Dell's business line of laptops, and are generally more robust and serviceable.

      These are 15.6" desktop replacements without SSDs. Not really comparable to 14" portables with SSDs.
