GARDENA Complete Hose End Nozzle Set $29.88 (Bunnings)

140

First post in Ozbargain (hope I haven't doubled up). Title updated to include price (thanks for pointing this out to me).

I saw this deal in the Bunnings catalogue and item seems to be still available in Bunnings stores.

This GARDENA set (product code 18294-25) consists of:
1. GARDENA Tap Nut Adaptor (18205)
2. GARDENA Hose Connector(18215)
3. GARDENA Water Stop Connector (18213)
4. GARDENA Classic Trigger Gun Nozzle (18302)- adjusts from a fine mist to a hard jet
5. GARDENA Classic Soft Spray Trigger GUN Nozzle (18312)- ideal for gentle watering of potted plants

All items are manufactured in Germany. No warranty is stated in the packaging of the set.

Normally the adaptor and the two connectors retail at Bunnings for about $20, meaning that the two nozzles end up costing less than $10.

Although the soft spray does not have adjustable flow rate, the construction of the unit is quite good and a similar Gardena soft spray nozzle in Bunnings costs $21-$22 (although this one has adjustable flow). A similar Gardena trigger gun nozzle (with adjustable flow included though) in Bunnings also costs about $21-$22.

I used the soft spray nozzle to water the garden in the last couple of days and its performance is quite good.

I have been using Gardena products in my garden for a while now and never had had any issues with any of them and another soft spray trigger nozzle (this one has adjustable flow but I have hardly used it over the years) I purchased more than 15 years ago still works fine!

        • Much appreciated. I will try to remember to put in the title the most important thing after the product description, price, in my next post.

    Once upon a time I would have jumped at these… then I bought a set of hoselink fittings,
    …and have not had to reset a single tap, hose or gun end again.
    Starter sets are around $5 more than this deal, or $10 more for a good twin pack.

      Hoselink's prices include shipping though.

      • Over $30 is free shipping

          Thanks for the info.

          And I have to agree, their fittings are awesome, no more dripping and bursting.

          @Scab:
          I tried some out but they are so cumbersome guys. I went back to regular fittings that are crimped to the hose. No problems & nice and streamlined

          @rgavin:

          What do you mean by cumbersome?

          The fittings are larger than usual but they just twist together.

    • I was about to post the same thing, brought the twin pack ($40) a few months back, well made, well worth the price!! no more hose connection coming off the hoses!!!

      • A few months isn't long enough though.

        All the ones I've ever bought fail after a year or two, regardless of the 'quality'. I haven't tried hoselink yet though.

        • With how they go together, and working in mechanical engineering, to me they look sturdy and designed well and if fitted as directed, I doubt they'll come off. But that's just my opinion. And thier an Aussie product, so bonus there too!!

        • @Trantor:

          I've never had any tap fittings or connectors fail, even the el-cheapo ones. I was talking about the spray guns. Never had one last over 2 years.

          @jv: we have had no ends of trouble with connectors staying on, last lot were solid brass, I think the water pressure here might be high. As for the gun(s) we got, they looked well made and even comes with oil and spare 'o'rings, other spares seem to be also available on the website, can't really say that about any other make.

          worth a try… might get some when they next have a sale.
