I have a similar model to this, and was surprised by how good it was. We refuse to watch anything without it now.
Without this, we have the TV louder than usual to hear voices. Unfortunately, that would mean stupidly loud explosions. With voice mode, the soundbar boosts the voice, so you don't need to have everything else so loud.

Ours connects wirelessly to a Samsung TV, so it's dead simple to set up. Powers on and off with the TV as well. No need for the second remote, when volume can be controlled with the TV remote.

I 'downgraded' from a stupidly large Sony system before this. No regrets.

    • I have this soundbar but unaware of this voice mode? How do I do it? Is it enabled through the tv or soundbar?

Press the sound effect button on the soundbar remote, bottom left corner. You can cycle between: Music, Movie, Clear Voice, Sports, Night Mode.

wow, had no clue. Thanks so much

  • Great price. Hooked mine up to my Samsung TV but can't get it to power on and off with the TV. Is there something I'm missing?

    • Are you in D.IN mode and using digital optical cable? It will be on by default if so. Details

Thanks for the info. All fixed :)

  • I used to use my Logitech Z623s with my TV but my new Samsung KS8500 doesn't have a headphone jack.
I might grab this, especially cause it looks neat under the TV.

  • Does this block the TV remote receiver?

    • No it goes under the TV. Like this

      • I have a Panasonic TV, I think it'd block mine. Dang.

        • Is it on a stand at all? The soundbar is only about 5cm in height.

          Edit: Product Dimensions (W x H x D) in inches: 35.7" x 2.1" x 2.8"

If it's one of the TV's with 2 stands on each side, then it's still okay if it doesn't fit width wise as it can just sit in front of it, as long as the height is okay it won't block receiver.

My soundbar is on a different brand 55" TV and it fits easily under the TV in the small gap created by having the TV on a stand.

      • Do they have options for wall mounted TV?

        • +1

Looks like it includes a wall mount kit/bracket yes:

          Website specs:

          ACCESSORIES INCLUDED IN BOX:
          WALLMOUNT BRACKET:
          YES

          Bing Lee description:

          Wall Mount
Designed to complement your home, simply wall mount your soundbar underneath your TV.

  • Good Guys have perfected the time machine: On 3rd February 2017 the store credit will be sent out to the purchaser’s nominated email address. You will not need to claim your store credit.

  • For those not doing click & collect to get the $20 TGG credit, I noticed it's $2 less at Harvey Norman - $197, their delivery is also $15 less ($19.95 vs $35).

  • I got this during the last deal around Christmas time. I feel that it is a bit under powered. Probably best to spend a bit more for a higher model.

I got this for my Samsung TV at Xmas and have no regrets. Just what I wanted and at the right price.

    • Good to hear! I think it will be plenty while I'm renting and living with people and can't be too loud.

  • Does anyone know if you can hook this to a Sony Bravia TV? KD55x8500d specifically? Thank you

    • It should work with any TV, connect via digital audio. You should be able to control the soundbars volume with your Panasonic TV remote as well if you wanted to, they are one of the manufacturers that are supported: VIZIO, LG, Sony, Sharp, PHILIPS, PANASONIC, TOSHIBA, GRUNDIG, Hisense, RCA

Otherwise you just use the soundbar remote.

I bought this a couple of days ago, Harvey Norman pick for $197

If anyone is interested, the wireless rear speakers are $99 at the Good Guys too - does anyone have any experience with these? $300 for the lot seems a great price, looking forward to hooking up.

  • $179 here if you are quick - expires in 2 hours

    • Not quick enough. Tried to jump on the rear speakers too!

  • FYI same price at Harvey Norman and Domayne.

I cbf driving to one of them so JB price matched it.
