        • @stumo: no probs.. enjoy

    • Oops missed the T460 deal yet again. Now only the rubbish stuff remains which no one wants to buy :)

      • Don't worry someone bought 6 and will give us one.

    • 100% sRGB colour gamut

      that lucky bastard.

  • which X1 is better ?

    • yoga if you like the extra functionality/pen, otherwise they are same.

      • thanks.. dont need the pen, so got the x1 carbon instead :-)

  • +1

dammit.. missed the X1 yoga. X1 carbon decent deal too. This is the price these laptops should be given the new models on the way.

  • whats the screen resolution on these laptops? it didn't say on the ebay pages

    • -1

Yes, 1080 or 1440. If it is 1440, then its a mustbuy.

      • even at 1080.. bargain.

      • Yay for shitter battery life

  • +2

pulling the trigger on X1 Carbon.. freaking bargain, you would be able to sell it for the same even a few months after use. I need a work machine desperately, so happy this came up. Thanks OP!

  • To think how much these were 6 months ago.

  • +2

All X1 Carbon gone.. 30 sold in a flash. Amazing. So happy to have got this.

    • +1

      lucky i got one :-)

      • went out of stock when I went to pay. Damn paypal these days taking so long to load =/

    • +1

      Fortunately I missed x260.

    • +1

      g***9 - AU $810.95 - 5
got broden with 5 to one buyer

    • +1

someone purchased 7! in different transactions… look out for them on ebay or gumtree no doubt

      • +5

such a scummy thing to do

        • -5

          business is business.

      • I suspect they are for a business given that the discount is only for 3 transactions so they purchased 4 with no discount which would not make it worth it to the sell.

  • +2

Aw man, I was watching TV, saw the cheap X1's, then got up off the couch, logged in to eBay and boom, they're all gone. (profanity) shattered :(

Those T460 laptops - have they got a 1080p screen?

  • +1

    Just ordered the t460!
Had a little look at what the screen resolution would be for it. Can't be certain at all, but it looks like the i7 models on the Lenovo page come preconfigured with the 1920x1080. If anything, you could replace it with a better screen later

  • +2

By the time I had researched the Lenovo Yoga TAB 3 Pro, and was logging into paypal it sold out :(

  • Damn i wanted the t460 and its sold out….
Did someone really need to buy 6 ughhh

  • +2

T460's gone. No thanks to the guy who bought 6. :(

    • Aghhhhhhhh :(
Any idea if there are any other deals around for laptops?

  • +1

Bugger. Snoozed in the X1 carbon, then again on the T460. Ah well. I guess mum doesn't get to upgrade her E520.

  • +2

Close to 80 products sold at bargain prices the deal gets 18 likes.. so much appreciation on OzB 🙄

    • +1

Maybe because it's over and it looks like we all missed out?

      • +3

        referring to those that bought

        • probably only 18 buyers, getting 4 or 5 units each.

    • +1

Yeah, only ozbargain users know about eBay /s

    • -3

I don't plus deals cause I don't agree with the voting system.

  • How does the t460 compare to e460?just purchased it 2 weeks ago, haven't had time to use it,but this t460 is $270 cheaper than what I paid for e460,both seems have i7,fhd,ssd
feel like I should have waited for this deal

    • T series is enterprise, iirc. Much more durable.

      • W>X>T>E>L

        • +2

          W>X>T>L>E…

The L is not vastly different to the T (at least in terms of build quality), only "feel" less premium. Both have reinforced plastic, and a roller cage. The biggest different is likely the internal battery for the Ts…

Got both, and they feel very solidly built.

        • @googleyahoo69:
Damn,so I paid too much for my e460!

        • @googleyahoo69: I thought W, X and T were their normal business laptop line whereas L and E were their budget business laptop line.

W for Workstation and generally they'd be bulkier (and some models would have GPU like Nvidia Quadro series).
T is just their normal business laptop line.
X is their light laptop line (generally were smaller as a result).

The line blurred between 3 of course though. I didn't know they differ in build quality.

        • @Oversimplified:

Haven't seen my current and previous work places using anything aside from the Ts, and are mostly docked.

I dont find L to be more flimsy…

E/Edge… lol… no comment. I have one (e440) for personal use, and definitely not the best build.

        • @googleyahoo69: I think they cut corners here and there with L line. I vaguely remember someone talking about wireless cards in one of the L line laptops, but it's been like 3 years since I heard that.

Anyways, I kinda had a phase when I was looking up information about Thinkpads, and that's how came across with those info. They probably were old when I looked them up since I was looking for a 2nd hand model. Thought I could score myself some 2nd hand TP without realising that I am probably not in the right city for second hand market. Anyways some of the examples of what I came across are like this.

So my knowledge might be wrong, might be right.

  • im assuming the memory and ssd can be upgrade ?

    • You can't upgrade RAM on X1 Carbon as it is soldered to motherboard unfortunately. It is a bit of a shame but at this price I can't really complain. It will be a work machine for me and just a little bit of photoshop so 8gb will do. I think SSD is upgradeable though.

      • that's fine, just want to use this as a travel lappie, since it's advertised as the lightest :-)

        • yeah, will be perfect for travel. so light yet still pretty powerful.

  • +1

Coming to gumtree near you soon :|

    • if we saw those broden on gumtree, could we have some fun with them?
      such as……wasting their time?

      • Offer $10 for their effort in reserving the stock. Lol.

        Those scumbags.

  • +1

bugger, cant believe i missed out on this as I need a work laptop.

    Now if only I can find a place for my 4 x 960GB SSD's.

I'm starting to think there's a disgruntled employee there making his employer pay before he resigns.

    • I have a place for 1 of 4 ;)

      • lol…true

  • Damn, missed all the good deals………

  • I missed out again!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH

  • Damn, missed all the good deals……… what the hell…

  • Anyone had their order ship yet?

    • got notification this morning that its being shipped :-) expected to be delivered on Friday….

      • Nice :). I haven't got anything yet. According to eBay estimated delivery is tomorrow. Hope they ship it out soon.

      • they just sent me a message on ebay unable to fulfil. This is a real kick in the gut. I needed this..

    • Mine has been shipped.

      • OMG..

grays just sent me a message. UNABLE TO FULFIL! I am incredibly disapponted.

        • :( Which one was it?

        • +1

          @Oversimplified: X1 Carbon..

I am so pissed off. Very interested to hear if anyone else had this treatment. I wonder about those who ordered multiple machines..

        • @nubzy: so can you remember how many left when you ordered x1? if your one couldn't be fulfilled, then anyone else after you all will be canceled.

        • @jasonchen59: Yes there should have been more than 15 left after I bought. I just don't see how they can get it so grossly wrong. Why upload 30 stock if you don't have it, bait advertising if you ask me and there is no excuse for "technical error" as it seems to happen quite a lot reading on product review/ebay feedback. Maybe if people can post their order position we can work out an estimate of how much stock was available.

        • @nubzy: You are right, but at least they need to treat fairly as any order after you would be cancelled, which would be 15 orders/units, how can they upload wrong quantity has that much difference.

  • I received T460 today.

The screen is HD, and it's TN as well.

    • I wouldn't be happy about that. Wonder if there is anything off about the X1C listings. Still don't know exactly how many they had in stock, but it can't have been many!!

      • I don't think anyone who spends over $2,000 on laptops would choose to save $100 and get HD TN panel.

That said, it's kinda fine for my purpose. I am looking up how to disassemble T460 and looking for LCD panels though. Might do that as a side project.

    • Does the specs of the T460 match up with specs on site? I'm thinking they mixed it up with t460s

      • Yeah I think. Weird SSD size, i7 and 8GB RAM. Plus it has IMEI so I think the has 3G or 4G.

It does say t460 on chassis. Is there something specific you wanted to check? I will run dxdiag.

    • Do they provide invoice (with GST)?

      • I kinda received it and left home after checking whether it works. Don't remember seeing an invoice with the laptop, but it was a busy morning.

      • I didn't find an invoice with mine anywhere

        • So it's grey import, isn't it?
Hope lenovo do global warranty then.

        • @jasonchen59: is it possible to identify grey imports with the serial number?

        • @ejayt: pretty sure you can register your serial number on Lenovo website, then it states your warranty starts and end. I did mine last yesterday, however it's Au stock. Maybe you can have a try.

        • @jasonchen59: Without registering, and going through the thinkvantage tools, the lenovo page says there are 757 days remaining on a 3 year warranty period that started on 11/9/2016. No idea if this is worldwide though. Cable included was Australian, and the box was factory sealed also.

        • @ejayt: 3 years warranty ? thats not bad.

        • +1

@ejayt: just got my x260,and checked that warranty ends Feb 2020, and location shows Australia

        • recheck my ebay order, and there's a tax invoice included in the email, with ABN and mentioned GST included.. will try to claim TRS next month..

        • +1

send an email to them requesting an invoice so i can claim TRS when i travel next month.. and just got it :-)

        • @annielee: Do you have their email address? I've sent message via eBay last Friday, they haven't replied.

        • @jasonchen59: i emailed via ebay once i got my laptop last Friday, and just received the tax invoice this morning..

    • Just received mine also… I'll look around for some FHD screens but there's relatively little info I can find for screen replacements on the T460. Let me know if you find something special :)

      • +1

I've upgraded a few laptop screens in my time. You may need to get the internal LCD cable as well. I know from first hand that HP often use a low-spec cable with the low spec screen, and it doesn't have enough conductors for higher res screens. So you have to buy a screen which is easy, and the correct cable which can be a problem if you don't know the part numbers. Not sure about lenovo.

        • I did find part numbers and such, but the annoying dilema seems to be, apparently T460's FHD IPS non-touch screens that Lenovo used are crap (in terms of colour reproduction and has issues outside that).

Someone was suggesting that another panel might be better than Lenovo's one (it looked like it functions fine), but I heard that Lenovo might block the LCD panel (via whitelisting). Apparently that's what happened with T450, the alternative panel that people were using had issues with brightness control because of Lenovo.

Sigh, decisions decisions. A fun side project I suppose.

        • @Oversimplified: What have you come up with? From the looks of it, the screen sizes are the same and the pin count for the cable is the same for the HD and FHD so it looks doable.

        • @ejayt: I just looked up T460 LCD Panel on eBay, that's about it.

        • @Oversimplified: I saw on a youtube video that someone purchased this screen a month ago and it worked. I'm going to give it a go, I ordered it. The FRU is listed as compatible with the T460 20FN http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-T460-00NY409-00PA889-LCD-D…
