  • Does it work with Netflix?
Do you have any deals on the 12 month plan?

    • Yes, it works. Try. Deals for 1 year plan will be able a little bit later.

  • works with all best streaming providers.

Ive never streamed from best streaming provider

  • Can anyone confirm it works with Netflix?

Most places say it will but then it doesn't.

Meh, US only. Plenty of cheaper & better (with more services) options like Getflix & dns4me

  • Anyone know if this works with the Telstra NBN gateway modems (WHITE)? I tried to use Getflix but couldnt do it at the modem . would this be the same?

    • You can change DNS in Telstra Modems.. Assuming you're talking Gateway Max anyway.
The answer to your question though is yes, it would be the same ..

  • looks a bit dodgy. contact address on website is that of their domain privacy provider

  • You could try, it is free for 7 days.

Test all streaming services and streaming speed

  • Just signed up for the 7 day trial and tried with my Win10 PC. Netflix and Amazon Prime both show US content but wont allow you to play (some as unblock US and so many others) - I guess it would have to good to be true….

    • BTW did run speedtest as well as the Netflix page was loading quite slow and while we usually get around 22-24Mb/sec it was down to 7-9Mb/sec

      • You are aware that a Smart DNS does NOT affect your download speed?

        • I am aware of what I have seen, mate. And believe me, I checked the speed about one million times in the last two days as we have been changed over to NBN just yesterday. Before and after changing the DNS I got 22-24Mb and while changed only 7-9 Mb - believe it or not….

Obviously it does affect download speeds for the sites it unblocks, and it can also mess with routing to CDN nodes meaning you may connect to a node further away (or overloaded) than you might normally. Also, these services usually at least partially proxy Akamai for example, which accounts for 15-30% of all web traffic. If their rules aren't fine-grained enough, some of this traffic might be proxied by them when it doesn't strictly need to be. It's plausible that it could effect speedtests for any of these reasons, and downloads speeds from other sites too.

I think everyone should know the risks of using SmartDNS service before jumping in.

I wouldn't use one without selectively routing lookups with DNSMasq but I know most people don't bother. It's funny that people are worried about the government collecting metadata but happily allow offshore companies to know every site that they visit.

I signed up yesterday and the VPN doesn't work. Unable to connect.
The Smart-DNS did not successfully unblock my required content.
    Yes I am network proficient.
    Dissapointing.
