Paid $400 for mine at launch and hardly use it lol. only good for the nintendo exlusives, but kids love playing whatever is on this.
i'm not. with xbox kinect and Playstation Move on market this marks the death knell of a low powered graphical unit like the Wii.

Weak excuse. It doesn't say anything about that in the ad. And it's a catalogue price, not like it's a clearance price or anything.
@tomsco: Which HN stores are you going to?…it was clearly stated on the ad I saw 13-40% off everything in store, including sale items, only while floorstock lasts…..and even then they were still giving the price for backorders at the store I went to. I backordered an Ipod Touch 8gb 3rd gen with a bonus Belkin Usb charger for $199. Technically they didn't have to honour the 13% off as the floorstock had sold out but they still did it.
Mind you I have noticed the HN website has been down intermittently all day so maybe they are trying to pull a dodgy on people by removing the ad….
Just bought one from Rebel Sport Greensborough @$150. I called in first and asked if they could price match and Blake (the guy I spoke to) confirmed it.
He also confirmed they've still got a few in stock so be quick.
my 2 out of 4 local stores just confirmed and price matched (other 2 stores were going to price match but out of stock). just needed to show them this thread with the receipt. area manager said glen waverley got into trouble for selling at that price, but they will honour the price match at there stores.
I just went in to Rebel Sport Highpoint… The manager said that Rebel Sport Head Office has sent a thing round to all the stores telling them not to sell it at that price. I don't know if he was bullshitting me or not. Either way… It's pretty shit. I just want a $150 Wii, God Damn it!

because me and my mates snagged all the 5 consoles they had. so no point really. just letting you guys know that it is possible to get a store to price match the offer………just show the manager the receipt on this thread, then he will compare SKU's on the receipt and wii, then he will ring the area manager to ok the product to be sold under cost……done

i brought one from Rebel Sports in Joondalup in WA who called Glen Waverely to confirm and then rang there regional mangager who said its $150. There are still 2 left there!!!! no more wii fits though!

Weird that various Rebel stores have different pricing policies. I rang 6 Sydney stores and they all said no price match except for Macquarie Centre who had sold out at the $150 price.

like every major store, each store is independently owned and franchised, so some stores will price match and some will refuse, its totally up to the store manager and ultimately the area manager and if they feel like getting rid of the wii's at well below cost
the stores where i got my wii's said they were stock from before Christmas, and all 8 stores i talked to all said that stocking wii's in their shops were the most stupidest idea rebel sports has ever had and were very happy to see them go. they have collectively only sold 10 in the last year and a half……….i see why they are getting rid of them now…

If they are stock from before Christmas, most likely the system firmware would be 4.0e or below.

I think you should get you facts straight before you type mate……Rebel Sport stores are not franchised they are privately owned and what manager within a company such as rebel relay any kind of inside infomation to some random bloke that walks in off the street about sales…….for starters im pretty sure that would be against any policy in any organisation. You said they are getting rid of them yet no other store in victoria had them at that price, and you have no idea of any sales records that any Rebel Sport store have had on wii's or wii products so how does this tell you that they are getting 'rid' of them. You also stated that an area manager told you that Glen Waverly got in trouble for this, when or why would you be talking to an area manager……do you work for the company or no him on a personal level. the manager for the kotara store in newcastle rang the area manager to confirm that other stores were doing the wii's for that price because he wasnt to sure even after i showed him the receipt on this thread……he then came out and said i will do them but me and the area manager arent happy about it. he then told me that the area manager was told by the VIC area manager that the glen waverly store got in trouble.. if you dont think that is right, then ring him and ask him, cant remember his name but hes the only manager and heres the number for the kotara store….02 4965 5144…i bought them yesterday he will remember me………………….go ahead mate…..also regarding how many wii's they have sold, i spoke to the manager and ask the same questions are eaach store: how many wii's do u usually sell. there answers were either none at a few stores or 1 or 2 at others, most said they have sold none this year..and no i dont work for them, but by the sound of your tone, are you the dumb sales guy who started all this and sold the wii for under cost, then got rattled by managers and everyone above. hahaha
