not good at math, but i'm sure we are more cheap than this one.

  • +2

This is actually a good price.

    • +4

glad you like it sir,:) i almost think our price are not good enough, seems only few users vote it

      • +1

Come on bro only been 45 minutes. It's definitely a great deal.

        • +11

ok bro, i will keep making more nice deal for you guys. ^0^

        • +1

          @MiniInTheBox:

          Please do

  • 1080 RES Is impressive at this price. What is warranty like?

    • if this product have any quality problem, we can provide changing or refunding.

      • +1

Ok but what is warranty duration? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? 1 month?

Also is graphics onboard or dedicated?

        • +1

the warranty period is 2-3 months, you can check it here, and do you mind get it clear?"graphics onboard or dedicated" don't understand this

        • The model on that link is GT940M.

        • Fairly sure the GPU is dedicated.

        • +2

@Autonomic: Yeah it has an Intel HD (not sure the version) for less taxing stuff, and a Nvidia 940MX for 3D stuff.

        • +6

@MiniInTheBox: your link says 30 days. Why say 2-3 months? What does 2-3 months even mean? Does it mean definitely 2 but maybe 3 months?

        • +1

@Risto: hi dear, 30 days is for" If a product is not listed, the warranty period is 30 days. " but we have 2 months for Consumer Electronics and 3 months for Phones & Tablets

        • @Risto: i will check it with product department and make it clear. but the warranty is at least 2 months

        • +4

@Risto: just confirmed, warranty is 3 months

        • @Risto:

You gonna click the link for detailed information.

"For product-specific policy conditions and warranty periods, click here."
          it says:
          Category Sub Categories Warranty Period
Consumer Electronics All Products 2 Months
Phones & Tablets All Products 3 Months

I reckon laptop which is a consumer electronics has 2 months seller warranty then. But you have to post it back to china.

        • -1

  • +1

price in Mainland China is AU$1000 for this model. so good deal.

  • -1

Can I have a free sample

    • +8

sorry dear, we don't have a review plan for this recently.

      • +1

I doubt he meant for review (or return).

  • +1

Good price the only worry is the warranty.

How is it compare with Matebook? It is not a touch screen, right?

  • Seems to be roughly USD$672 here
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/297011

    • For the extra $9 on this post you get expidited shipping.

      • the other deal includes EMS express shipping, although admittedly it's estimated shipping time of 7-15 is slightly longer than this deal's estimate of 5-9 (processing time plus postage time).

  • -5

Lmao Notebook Air, cant apple sue this bootleg company?

    • +27

Judges in China eat copyright lawsuits for breakfast

    • +23

Unless Apple thinks they invented Air.

      • Trademarks do not relate to prior inventions. But hey, good quip anyway, haterz

      • +2

        Nike should sue Apple then

      • +3

Apple are trademark trolls. At one stage they were going after Woolies for their Apple logo, which looks nothing like the Apple computer logo.

    • +3

Is Air a trademark of Apple?

      • If it could be, it would already be.

        • +3

Nike would also be jostling for it too I imagine.

  • +1

Do you have stock ready to ship?

    • +2

yes, we always in stock when we plan for a deal. and we will ship it according to the order time. longest time will less than 4 business day.

      • +2

ordered, will post here when it arrives

        • Keep us posted

        • +1

Ordered 23/3. Still no shipping confirmation.

        • @badarz: Well that's no good. Try messaging the associate here.

        • @badarz:
          Ordered 24/03
          Shipped 30/03
          Received 03/04
Invoice was for $719 USD, no duty was charged, sent by DP worldwide.
Shipping speed was great, but processing step took longer than the shipping.
AU plugs were included, thanks for that.

        • @badarz: invoice
          Was usd not aud?

        • @ATO: yes

  • Daamn,

    That's a great price

Ordered the i7 version last week as a replacement when I dropped my 12" one in the water and wrecked the screen.

Fortunately the charger and SSD work so I now have spares. 12" SSD is SATA and the 13" has a spare SATA slot so not a complete loss.

However I totally would have enjoyed the i5 rather than the i7 for this price.

    • +1

However I totally would have enjoyed the i5 rather than the i7 for this price.

      I am confused.
      Isn't the i7 better than the i5?

      • It depends…

I recently bought a used Macbook Pro (13" 2015 model) with the i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB hard drive. I bought it because I already owned the 13" 2015 one with an i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB hard drive and kept hitting the limits of the RAM and disk space.

I'm not a CPU 'power user'; I don't play games, edit HD videos, analyse massive datasets, design 3D models of entire cities in CAD programs, etc. I do however need lots of onboard RAM and hard drive space for various projects.

I find with the i7, because it's more powerful, even if I'm not making it work hard, it runs much hotter than the Macbook with the i5 and the battery life is not as good. If I could choose again, I'd get one with the i5, 16GB and 512GB because I don't need the i7's power or greed for energy. Also, my wife would kill me if I said I needed to buy another replacement laptop.

The i7 can do complex things more quickly but day-to-day it'll be hot and hungry for power. The i5 can still do those complex things but will take a bit longer, but will day-to-day be easier to live with.

Edit: This is all just my personal experience with these two computers. There are so many different versions and generations of i5 and i7 processors that my experience is almost certainly not what others might have.

        • +4

          So…

          I7 I5
          More Expensive Cheaper
          Faster Slower
Quicker Diminishing Battery Long Lasting Battery

          Yeah?

        • @0p: Pretty much, but I'd suggest the battery comments should be seen as Quicker Diminishing Battery Longer Lasting Battery

My Macbook with the i7 still has a very impressive battery life, and it's a two-year old computer. Still better than any Windows/Linux laptop I've ever used. I should have made it clear that the difference is probably only about 10%, maybe 15%, between the i7 and the i5 in terms of battery life.

The thing that bothers me most with the i7 is it occasionally got too hot to sit with on your lap. Not burning hot, just makes my thighs a bit sweaty. I popped a folded towel under it once, but to be honest I've actually started working at a desk with it so haven't even noticed the heat for ages.

        • +1

Oh ok will look into it.
By the way i have updated the table.
          Thanks

        • @0p: You're welcome :-)

      • Yeah it's a slightly better clockspeed.
And I may even use the 4g when I travel to China next . But then again I probably won't use either enough to justify the difference in price when compared to this deal.

Still no place for buyers remorse when I can't exactly return the unit set to arrive in 2 days.

I will say that after having the 12". 4gb ram was absolutely not enough for my Linux workstation but 8gb DDR4 will be fine

        • What distro are you running?
How's the battery life, and any issues you've had to spend the night debugging on?

        • +1

          @Rorschach:

          Fedora
          100% works on first boot

    • The i7 version is the one with 4G in china right, that was the only update they did plus the i7?

Did you get a good price for it?

      • $200-300 more than this deal so not enough to justify it but I guess if this were the Apple store macbook configuration selector that would be the bump they demand for small spec boosts

  • +19

    But 3 month warranty!!!!
That will hurt if anything happens after 4 months.
    Is it worth the risk?

    • That very much depends on whether anything happens after the months.

    • +12

That's what I was thinking, basically they warrant that it will work for 3 months, no longer. If you accept the terms and one day in the near future it craps itself, then what? Will it be a $900 paperweight? I'm not huge on warranties but 3 months is just ridiculous for an item at this price.

      • +2

3 months is still better than the alternatives where it's basically no warranty. At least covered for DOA.

        • +6

Yeah I suppose… But if I'm going to fork out close to that I'll be looking at something a bit dearer but with warranty coverage especially as I have no experience in the brand. I've worked for companies where they would buy consumer grade (known brand) laptops for staff and pretty much 75% of them died a month or two after warranty expired.

      • Makes no sense to me, 3 month warranty is basically a guarantee on how long their product will work, not worth the risk spending 900 to only be guaranteed for 3 months that's a joke.

    • +1

I'm not going to purchase this because it's not Australian Stock with that type of Warranty. There's nothing you can do after the 3 months period and I agree with you here. But for the specs, and for people that are willing to take the risk and nothing happening it will be a great investment.

  • I've done some research on this device, and most reviewers say that this has a chinese only windows 10 license? Is this the case for this one?

  • +2

Can you match or ideally beat Banggood price of Grand Total: US$666.71. if its US $650 , I will buy 2 in an instant and lots of more people will as Banggood is more well established

    Order Subtotal: US$738.99
    Shipping Fee: US$1.62
    Insurance: US$0.00

    Coupon Discount: US$73.90
    Grand Total: US$666.71
This order earned 738 banggood points

    • hi dear, sorry but this is the lowest price i can get. also we are free with Expedited shipping, it takes much less time.

      • +1

Banggood is Expedited Shipping as well if you check. Do you guys use DHL Express for Express shipping ? Make it a $50 coupon and 100s of us will bite :D

        • I bought the banggood deal last week and yes they do use DHL, just got delivered as I typed this :D

        • @FeZZa21: How long did it take from ordering to getting it delivered. Under a week ?

        • @regenade:
It got shipped 14th March and delivered today 24th March. Initially I didn't know it was DHL until I got the DHL SMS status yesterday saying it was being processed at singapore, so maybe they hand over from EMS China to DHL?

      • what is the point of having fast shipping when it takes almost 2 weeks of processing time?

    • mate where did you get the coupon from cant seem to find it? *Derp nvm found it lol

    • is the banggood deal still available, can i see the link?

  • The banggood deal is better than this one as it has 4.8% cashback

    • Are you sure? Lightinthebox have 8% cashback and free express shipping.

    • +2

this one would be cheaper, banggood one cost me AU$843 total (inc. cashrewards) and this one would cost me ~AU$821 with the higher cashreward.

    • Could you please pm me the link?

  • +1

Holy goodness me that's a great deal. Only half a year ago did I purchased this for the full 1k mark. It was fantastic price for it then, it's definitely a fantastic price now.

    • Wow half a year ago?
I'm very intrested hearing how it's holding up.
      Battery get worse at all?

      System slower at all?

      • Battery hasn't decreased by much, though it never has been stellar since it's a smaller battery compared to similar class laptops. I still get just under 3 hours while gaming, 7 hours while I'm at work/uni.

No slow down. Fantastic system. I've installed an extra ssd and thermo pad on the vent, so that might have helped with the temp and speed, and the only time it ever had trouble is when I ran Nox Emulator. It's just extremely slow for some reason, and I don't understand what's causing it, because task manager indicated that the PC and RAM wasn't fully used.

Aside from the grease that I left on it from work, it doesn't seem to be that different from day 1.

        • Curious to know what this thermo pad is?
Google can't seem to figure this one out.

        • @Rorschach: https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Thermal-Pad-0-5-Conductivity/d…

These. Apparently, there is a gap between the heat sink + vent and the metal plate. So I was taught to add that in, and it'll disperse some of the heat onto the metal plate.

It did, the W key no longer burns my fingers when I play very heavy games. It's still hot, but not discomfiting hot.

        • Thanks for the reply mate,
great to know battery is still ok and hasn't decreased capacity.

Roughly how much did that SSD set you back?
And also, did you fork out money to get another copy of windows OS over the Chinese windows?

        • @TheOneWhoGotAway: I got the m.2 crucial 500gb for $170 including delivery. They had a fantastic deal for the samsung 850 evo a couple weeks back, so you may be able to find one pop up some time.

Nah. I had a home edition lying around, so I used that. I've read from Reddit that you can use the inbuilt key for English single language Windows. Just simply click "troubleshoot" instead of activating it or something. Ask r/xiaomi if you ever have any trouble with Windows, the mod there own one as well.

        • @Wonderfool:

          Hey wonderfool,

I got my Air 13 recently, could you forward the article, video you found to install the thermal pad yourself?
Or if you could be kind enough to roughly explain what needs to be done.

Thanks (feel free to PM me)

        • @TheOneWhoGotAway:

          Mi Air Thermal pad https://imgur.com/a/Ul9pe

See those blue things? Just copy those. Your goal is too link those parts with the metal so it'll distribute the heat on the casing. Put priority on the heat sink.

It seemed to have put my cpu to run at 67 degrees after it's done.

    • Yes, I'm very keen to hear your experience with it. Sounds like you are pretty chuffed with it!

  • Where do you apply the coupon?

    • hi sir,you need procee to checkout page and on the bottom of that page you can add the coupon, i don't konw how to give you a screen shot

  • Is a new version going to come out ?
    Like with a 10xx gpu?

    • a new version did come out and it has a same-generation but i7 processor and a 4g china-mobile only module that can only be used in china.

      • +2

not really an upgrade for the price compared to this one

        • +1

Its selling point was that an internet plan came with it. Which, of course, meant that we don't get the benefit.

  • +1

where can i apply the coupon in your website ?

    • you need procee to checkout page and on the bottom of that page you can add the coupon, i don't konw how to give you a screen shot

      • +4

        Not really a great solution.

    • dob them in to the internet police…. ;)

    • +1

I love it how the rep keeps ignoring this, a true embodiment of "the timeliness of customer service".

    • Its just a nice bit of bs to get your business and take your $$$$$ :)

  • +2

looks like I can only get it down to 971 in the checkout with the coupon and cash rewards

      • Thank you!

        • hi dear, just confirmed. unfortunately we don't have enough stock on this model for now

  • Friends, this is a pretty good price.

To the associate, where do you ship from / where are you based?

    • we are chinese company and ship from China

  • Will this deal last until next week or will it sell out?

    • the coupon is until 3/31, no quantity limited as i know

  • +2

Be aware that the laptop has Mandarin version of Windows 10…you'll need to do a clean install with a new copy of Win10 to get the proper English version.

Even if you change the default OS language to English, some things will still remain in Mandarin.

    • +1

I don't mind reinstalling (I normally do when I get a new laptop anyway)
The real question is whether the I need a new license during the install or will Windows detect the existing license

      • Im note sure of that to be honest

      • People on Xiaomi's subreddit said that you can simply install English version single language version with it. Though I never tried it myself.

    • +1

      Does bios remain in Chinese?

      • I don't know about the bios of the machine…

I thought win10 machines use UEFI instead of BIOS?

      • BIOS is in english (F2 during boot for those interested).

  • I have the 12.5" version and love it, but sometimes wish I bought this one to get 8gb of ram.

  • Basically a cheaper xps?

  • Can you supply with Windows 10 English, instead of Windows 10 Mandarin?

  • +3

Great price. Got one of these from gearbest and just managed to get arch working. Drivers pretty easy. On windows it is super snappy and I'm extremely impressed with the trackpad

    • Where are the drivers for this?

    • What is the battery life like?

      • Pretty good. I've never had a "high end" ultrabook before though. Sorry can't give you an estimate of how long it would last me cos I've basically had it on screwing around with settings so I didn't know what battery %

I did read that it's not as good as something like a macbook though

  • +2

I am looking for the 12.5 Inch version of the Mi Notebook air, will be great if you can make a deal

  • Any touch screen model??

  • Good laptop for university

    • Glossy screen though, that's a pain in the ass in lecture halls.

  • +4

so i recently brought the laptop from china via online company the price was roughly 4600RMB i brought from a Chinese website shipped to my Chinese address for free.
if you exchange it RMB TO AUD it is roughly $876.10. so this is pretty much a steal only around 20 aud more. laptop is great charges so fast and got a gtx940mx 10/10 would recommend for work/uni/and light gaming. thx OP for sharing this OZ bargain

    • +2

you are welcome, a deal which every one like is the best rewards to me.

    • What is the battery life like?

      • only time will tell XD for now its heaps good for work and watching movies but not so good for gaming but it only weighs 1.5kg so

    • I bought the banggood deal the other week and arrived in 8 business days (DHL), really loving it. I came from using a Dell 3000 15" laptop that was a heavy, plasticy, creaky piece of crap to this solidly built aluminium, light and thin ultrabook. Great sharp screen (though a little dark but perfectly fine indoors) and awesome glass trackpad.

      here's a good comparison review: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Face-Off-Xiaomi-Mi-Air-vs-Dell-…

  • Is this device thick? the base looks thicker than most laptops nowadays..

How's the experience? And battery life

    • Did you click the link? Thickness 14.8mm,1.28kg weight, 9.5 hours run time. The thickness is better than average laptops.
In comparison, the luxury new macbook pro with touch is 14.9 mm, weight 1.37 kg. 10 hours, which cost more than $2000.
Xiaomi was not a laptop manufactory before, but they did a great job again.

      • anyone considering a XPS should jump at this. waaaay better

        • As someone who sold his xps13, I just wanna give some warning:

Xps has a better battery, it has better temp control, and better screen. The screen on the Xiaomi air is not only reflective, it's also a little dark in comparison. So if you're planning to use it outdoor, forget about it. Add the fact that it can heat up when you leave it on your lap for extended period (not alot, but you feel it to be an discomfort), and you will start having preference of where you'll use it.

Aside from those points, yeah, Xiaomi is a better laptop in general.

  • -7

    Comes with a fake CPU.

  • Well I went ahead and purchased it.

The only negative to me is there is no SD card. But I suppose USB can substitute for that.

  • I must be blind or something. i cannot find a way to change currency or enter the code? I have looked around the check out page. A lil help please?

  • Sorry. Found where to apply the code. Still havent figure out how to change currency.

    • top right it says "Ship to: <ausflag> $AUD"

click that, then at the bottom of the popup theres a dropdown to change to usd

    • I just clicked immediately to the left of the price and it has a dropdown. Desktop browser.

  • +3

Just pulled the trigger on this one, been looking for an ultrabook for uni that also had a dedicated GPU. Note I had a little trouble with my card getting declined - contacted my bank and it was because the seller had actually flagged it for fraud! Turns out they get a lot of people trying to buy things with stolen cards so they are a little cautious. Just a heads up in case it happens to you.

Discount code worked fine, I clicked through from CashRewards so I hope that works too (never done it before). Will post my experience with the laptop once it arrives.

    • Same experience with my bank here… mildly annoying.

  • Would this laptop be able to run adobe lightroom and photoshop smoothly? Thanks!

  • I was gonna get the Hp spectre x2, but oh wth , I ordered this one.
    Thanks

  • So no one seems worried about lack of future warranty..

    • +1

did you read the comments? a bunch of people are worried, and one even negged for it.

    • Does anyone know what gearbest and banggood warranty is like? I can't seem to find it on their website.

I'm having decision issues deciding if I should buy from this place or gearbest or banggood. Any comments much appreciated.

      • No idea about warranty, but MY (personal) experience of banggood vs gearbest for cheap stuff was:
banggood list a long delivery time (like a month), and it takes that long to deliver.
gearbest list a similarly long delivery time, but still manage to not deliver in that time and instead take 2 months or more to deliver, or not deliver at all.

        • 2 months? wtf?

        • @HarveySpecter: for cheap shit, with free shipping. I haven't bought anything from gearbest where I've tried paying for express shipping. But yeah, 2 months, or more.

        • @salem: OH man, I bought these Xiaomi Hybrid earphones from gearbest. Looks like it's gonna be a long wait till those arrive :(

Edit: On the email, it states this "The package should normally take 5-12 business days to arrive (approximately). However, please understand this is an estimate. The shipping speed is outside our control and is dependent on the courier company."

        • @HarveySpecter: so this was admittedly quite a while ago, but basically after a month and a half wait, I went to paypal, and then gearbest asked me to close the paypal dispute and wait another 45 business days. which I did not do.

maybe they are better now? I wouldn't know, as after that experience I have avoided them.

        • @salem: ahh ok, I did hear from here that they were banned from ozbargain once.

        • I've bought stuffs from Banggood and gearbest multiple times, they arrived no problem with delivering. It just takes 3-4weeks.

      • I'm making the same decision.
Did you gather any info what gearbest or banggood warrenty is like?

  • Really slow postage form these guys.

    • Is this with Expidited shipping?

  • I need a laptop and it looks good, but wary of purchase given the lack of reasonable wareanty period and the brand doesnt have much presence. Hate for it to arrive with dead pixels, or die on me one year later and become a paperweight..

  • Execuse me. Did the price change? It is 10xx now.

    • Nope still shows $719 USD before coupon.

      • Sorry I saw the AUD price. Thank you

  • Is this a better laptop to the 13" Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 which can be had for about $200 more and with same specs?

How about the plug?what kind of plug does it have?

    • morning sir, just back from weekend. i have confirmed, it's chinese plug. thanks for remind and supplier decide to provide a free au plug for this from now on.

      • Mine hasn't shipped yet, can you pls include the AU plug. Order #22118700.

        • just ask that for you, but not sure if they can add it when the package at processing time. when i get the feedback i will give you message

      • Can you advise why you provide such a pitiful warranty? 3 months is rubbish, especially when spending this much money. In Australa we have 12 month warranty, and an extra 12 month under consumer law.

And how does the warranty work with you? Do you pay for shipping, what is the turn around time?

I like the look of the product, but wary of after sales support if the item stopped working a few months after purchase.

        • i can't decide any thing about the warranty, the Boss make rule.warranty start when you receiving your order, and if you need refund or change we pay for shipping. about more details i suggest you consult customer service. they are more professional on this.

Dodgy company. Been ripped off before for $400.
    https://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/lightinthebox.html

  • I just tried to use the cashback reward link (provided within the thread) and gone through all the steps to add item into cart, but the final pricing i am getting is $971.00, which includes $57.20 coupon.
However, i have exclude all insurance options available (duty & tax insurance + shipping insurance). Not sure if it's recommonded to have them added on?
Also this price is still higher than the advertised @ $893 delivered.
Admin… can you please assist me with the pricing?

    • hi sir, do you change it as us currency

    • You're out of luck - Cashrewards just stripped back the compatible coupons, so you will pay $971 and potentially not get any of it back. :(

Fast shipping does not equal fast processing :(

Had the same thing happen to me - except they told me it would be shipped no later than 16th of April! I contacted customer service and they confirmed it had already been shipped to them from their supplier and that it should be sent out 'in a few days'. Hoping that means early April rather than mid-April arrival. Also hope it will come with an AU plug as per the latest rep response below.

  • Do the keyboard have Chinese characters on it?

    • No. All review items on YouTube point to QWERTY keyboard

  • Just placed an order, looking forward to receiving this. Have not used cash rewards before either so hopefully all goes well.

    • Has anyone received anything? Ordered and paid on the 27th March and it still says "Processing". What's the point of having fast shipping if processing takes forever. The website says 24hr processing too. This is seriously unprofessional.

They do invoice in the non discounted amount which seems bizarre as well. New this seemed like too good an offer to be true.

      • hi dear, apologize for the long and slow process time. according to the newest feedback from ship team today, they promise me will ship it asap, please wait one more day. and i'm still communicate with them and hope make it fast.

  • So they are invoicing the non-discounted amount which is approx $1028 aud. I'll be charged GST, right?

  • May I have it shipped with an AU plug please?
I have raised a ticket on your site regarding this, ticket# 15077395.
    Thanks in advanced.

        • I am planning to purchase from lightinthebox or bangood. How's the warranty from bangood?

        • @sorasora:
No idea. Can't seem to find it on their website. But I paid with PayPal so there should at least be recourse if it's DOA

        • @salem:
I asked on their product page for the 12.5" - 1 year warranty at Banggood.
          http://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-310355.html

        • @salem:
          "Hi dear,
If you do not modify the OS, the item has 1 year warranty.
          Thanks for choosing banggood!"

Note - comes with Chinese Win10 only.

        • @badarz:
Arrived today. Same shipping time as lightinthebox based on your post on page 1. Except bang good included an EU adapter instead of Australian despite the listing saying "adapter include based on shipping destination". Grr.

  • Did people pay via PayPal? How do you make sure it charges your card in USD and not AUD?

    • In PayPal i set up my preferences for my 28 degrees card to not use any currency conversion. It was a while ago now, so not sure exactly where the settings were. So now when paying in PayPal i can choose with my default (bank account) in AUD, or if I choose the 28 degrees card it just says "providers currency exchange rates" or something and charges in whatever currency the seller was charging me in.

    Hey Ozbargain community.
I've decided to cancel my order for one very important reason - the declared amount of the device when shipped will be the FULL price BEFORE coupons. I asked via Ticket which value would be noted on the package and they said $1028AUD for me (I paid for shipping insurance because I've never shopped with this seller before). Once it lands in Australia I'd have to pay +10%gst + other costs related to releasing the item from customs.

Further, it looks like Cashrewards have deleted the "40LITBA" coupon from the list of accepted/acknowledged coupons, and I haven't received confirmation from Cashrewards acknowledging my purchase in 7 days.

I've gone to AliExpress which now have it listed for $955 shipped from the official Xiaomi Mi store, + 7% cashback from Cashrewards bringing it down to $888.

    • Shouldn't it say ~670 USD?

You've got me questioning my decision at the last moment. 8% CR isn't insignificant.

      • I paid in AUD as I couldn't fund my Citibank card in time to snag the deal

        • Well I just YOLO'd and had my sale track from CR. Remains to be seen if they pay out however.

        • @Autonomic: they do pay out, have had several.

        • @badarz:

For this particular deal/voucher I mean

        • @Autonomic: that's really interesting - do you mean that you can see in CR that your click was registered, or you received the full email telling you how much cashback you are elegible to receive?

        • +1

          @yojabbajabba:

Tells me the expected cashback is $75 AUD and estimated approval is 29 June. I'm assuming that's the full email?

        • @Autonomic: I'm jealous!

    • @yojabbajabba: Keep us updated how you go with the AliExpress official Xiaomi Mi store

      • Will do.

        • Any reason why did you choose aliexpress instead of banggood? banggood has it for 920ish though, but I think it's faster than aliexpress.

        • @sorasora: They were both same price after cashback was considered. I chose AliExpress due to their quotable sales numbers from the direct store (9000+) and the slighly faster shipping estimate. Also, they had stock!

        • @sorasora:

Banggood is at $700 USD right now and and the Ali express official xiaomi shop is at $739.

Still would be great to have it a little cheaper or have that free case thrown in

Any idea which would have better warranty and return service?

  • Sorry for hijacking this deal, but apparently people haven't received the laptop yet.

So which one is better? From banggood for $932 now or aliexpress for $980 (official store)?

Has anyone had theirs sent yet? i ordered on the 24th, and it's been "packaging" since the 29th.

Definitely feels shady to call this "expedited shipping" when they take forever to just ship the damn thing. Today is the 7th business day since ordering…

      • nice. glad to hear the shipping is fast enough. Hopefully they'll ship mine today then. thanks for the info!

How are you liking it so far?

        • I dont think you will receive it today or tomorrow. If you try to contact them for refund, you will find no one except the ticket which is a bazzar

        • Love it. Gets quite warm however.

    • Likewise. Except I ordered on 23 March. Will message store rep on here now.

    • Also ordered on the 24th and still in 'packaging' stage.

This is what they told me after inquiring about the progress of my order:

      Dear Customer,

Thank you for shopping with us.

We are sorry for the delayed of your order due to the items you ordered are in high demand and back ordered. But we are glad to tell that your order is being packed now and will be shipped out within 48 hours since the items are back in stock.

Once we mail out your order, we will send you a shipment notification including shipping tracking information.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions, it is always a pleasure to serve you.

      Sincerely,

      • I got a similar message yesterday.

Weird how they mentioned the word "backorder" for you, if it has been saying 'packaging'.

They have 21.5 hours before their "48 hours" thing is up. I wonder, if I had messaged them when it first said 'packaging' on the 31st, would they have said the same thing?

        • Not sure if they would've said the same thing for your case. What annoys me is that I spoke to the rep who posted this deal, MiniInTheBox, and he/she told me on the 29th that the order would be shipped within that night or the next day. After a few days without any progress change, I tried to contact the rep but they have now gone AWOL.

        • I got the same reply. 7 hours left before their 48 hours is up!

        • @dust: May I ask if your order has been shipped yet? I've got until the next day for their 48 hour promise.

        • @slong: Nope. :(

        • +1

They've stopped replying to my tickets. I think they ran out of stock and they just don't want to admit it. sigh
I wonder if the rep knows that if he/she doesn't provide some explanations they could be banned from ozbargain.

  • Hey Rep the code no longer works is the offer finished or is it still on?

    • morning dear, apologize for the late reply, i'm just back from Tomb Sweeping festival vocation. the promotion seems finished

      • +1

I think Slong, Dust, Simonizmaster and I would all appreciate a response from you regarding what's happening with the current orders.

For people viewing post, rep updated the top of page with:

morning sir, just confirmed. seems our shipping company have some problem and they are working on it now.(although i doubt it, but they just response like this) according to the newest feedback, the package would shipped today. please check it several hours later. if any package still have not shiped in 24 hours welcome to contact me again. sorry for the long waiting time, it's our mistake.

        • @MiniInTheBox: Hi I've got the same problem, ordered on the 24th and been stuck at 'Packaging' since the 29th. Raised a ticket and was advised on the 29th that it had been shipped to your warehouse and would be sent out to me 'in a couple of days'. Nothing has happened since then. Starting to get concerned it's not going to be shipped at all.

          Dear customer,

          We apologize for all inconvenients,

We are waiting for the delivery of your items by supplier, to be able to ship it to you.

@MiniInTheBox: Finally got a confirmation that it has shipped. Hopefully it arrives within the 4-5 business days as advertised! Thanks!

        • @dust: glad to hear that. wish you can get it fast.

Still packing… wtf is going on?? Did anyone already received the laptop yet??

    • Anyone can give me idea if the custom charge me GST for the invoice is AUD 1028? Very confusing and item was marked shipped

  • +1

Anyone from the late shipment got theirs yet? or not?

My tracking still just says it was picked up thursday night, the 6th. Technically today is the 4th business day, but I'm pretty sure the ships still run through the weekend anyway…

I hope I get it today, I never thought the wait would be this long overall -_- .

    • It's the 5th business day for my order today. Haven't received it yet either. Tomorrow will be three weeks since I placed the order and made payment tomorrow. Not an unusually long time for something from China/HK but disappointing because fast shipping was advertised.

      • If we don't get it tomorrow, we won't get it until at least Tuesday because of Easter :<

Has your tracking updated at all apart from being 'picked up' ?

        Yeh this is really disappointing.

        • Nope, tracking just says picked up as well. :(

    • Mine was shipped on the 6th too and the status is still stuck on "IN TRANSIT". Was yours sent through SF Express as well?

    • Same here, tracking is still just saying that it was picked up on the 6th and hasn't changed yet.

  • +2

You've got to be kidding me. Just received this email from SF Express:

    Dear sir/Madam:
For the shpt and cause It contains the battery inside ,we can not send it to you,we had informed shipper about this and will return it to shipper, sorry for the nconvenience and tks a lot.

No idea what this means? Does Australia ban importing packages that contains batteries??!

    • jesus christ -_-

I don't have that email yet, but I assume I'll get it too. googling says SF Express don't allow lithium ion batteries via Air. Is SF Express air mail?

Well this is shit but explains the delay.

edit: did you have to make an inquiry to SF Express, or did they voluntarily email you?

      • Did those who received their notebooks receive them by SF Express as well? Can anyone comment?

EDIT: Apparently not. It was shipped with DP Worldwide.

      • +1

They voluntarily emailed me. I thought it was one of those fake spam emails since it poorly formatted with symbols all over the place. Incredibly disappointed with LITB's service. They should've used a more reputable courier like DHL so we can track the status every step of the way.

        • Answering my own question, it looks like those that received theirs had it sent by DP Worldwide (posted above). So perhaps our orders will need to be reshipped as SF Express will refuse them all?

        • @mightyboy: It sure seems that way. I'm totally confused why customs denied SF express but not DP worldwide shipment.

        • +1

@slong: I don't think it's customs denying the shipment. SF Express has collected the items for shipping from LightInTheBox, but then realised they contain Lithium Ion batteries and refused to ship them. They're sending them back to LightInTheBox who will have to use a different shipping company such as DP Worldwide who it would seem is happy to ship lithium ion batteries.

Completely unacceptable delays considering Expedited 5 day shipping was advertised.

        • @mightyboy: Oh that makes sense then. I was under the impression the entire time that it'd been picked up from their warehouse and loaded onto the cargo plane.

        • @slong: I'm in the same boat as above but haven't received an email from SF Express (yet).

    • morning sir, apologize for such problem, we are trying to use a new shipping company on the last deal and some unpredictable things happened, and delayed all package for xiaomi air book. i'm discussing it with my ship team's colleagues and trying to solve it. i will let all you guys know at first time when we have any new furthers.

      • Hi MiniInTheBox, I am also waiting on my order, could you give us an idea of when it will be shipped?

        • hi dear, you package has been shipped on 4/6 and here is your track number 613210579621 . we use a new shipping company SF express this time and seems it have batteries issue.

        • @MiniInTheBox: Yes I understand there are battery issues with the new shipping company, so what are you doing to fix that? From other posts it seems SF Express is returning the laptops to you, are you going to send them out with another shipping company?

        • -1

@Birdseye: morning dear, due to the fire of the DHL HongKong warehouse, the shipping relate batteries are more strict. so the ship team is checking if there have any other reliable way to send the package.

In the same boat here. Ordered 3 weeks ago. Last Thursday after following up by creating a ticket (twice) my status changed to 'In Transit' and and is stuck on 'Picked up'. I've been promised a lot of things that haven't happened.

Haven't received the message from SF express as above.

Regardless, we've not received what we paid for and as such LightInTheBox needs to take action.

MiniInTheBox, how will you be compensating us for this issue?

    • I wonder if that "complain to a supervisor" link actually does anything.

Clearly we're all screwed, customer service is going to be useless handling this matter once the shipments are returned. Did we all pay by paypal at least?

btw it does say the rep was online, a couple hours after i messaged him. seems he noped the (profanity) out perhaps?

  • Same boat here, battery issue that has never been told by the lightinbox company as the light is the box only. Since we dont see the box no light can be seen.

i have asked for refund again and will let you guys know what they gonna reply. The first time i asked fro refund they said cant as it has been picked up by SF.

There is no light, my ozbargain comrades, wake up, fight

I had opened a dispute asking for refund, anyone follows?

  • Woohoo I've received my package~! NOT
I guess somewhere along the way, it got stuck.
Now the question is still wait for the package ? or proceed to refund process?

Here's what I got after I 'complained to supervisor' after getting the generic response on a custom support ticket.

Thank you for shopping by Lightinthebox.

We are sorry to inform you that the package shipped via SF-Express has been shipped due to customs clearance issues. We are working with the logistic department on this issue, and your package can be reshipped out in the next 3 days. After that the shipping tracking number will be updated and you can check it in the order page.

If you still have any further inquires, you may reply back, and we will try to reply your message at the soonest on Monday at the latest.

Your kind patience and understanding will be highly appreciated. We once again regret the inconvenience caused to you and we will do our best to improve our services.

I assume they mean it "hasn't shipped", but they seem to be saying it will be shipped out again in the next few days and the tracking number updated. This seems to be in line with what Miniinthebox said above.

I hope they do prioritise it.

  • +1

Well looks like the re-shipment process has begun as I received a new email stating shipment, and a new tracking number.
So far it just says "Shipment information received", which doesn't mean it has been picked up yet (or even available to be picked up necessarily), but rather just that the tracking has been lodged…

They seem to be planning to send it from Singapore with DHL… So that's good news, I guess they shipped it there over the weekend or plan to.. Hopefully the packages will show as "picked up" soon.

    • Yeap, I've got that email as well, so what is our compensation from Lightinthebox? for this stupid delays and etc..

      • well much earlier on (back when it hadn't even been shipped), customer service stated to me

After you receive the order and confirm everything is fine, you may get back to us and require for a promotion rewards which valued 10% of this order.

Which would mean $67.9 rewards credit with them so you can repeat this experience at a later date :D

        • Yeap, I've got that email/msg from Lightinthebox as well. However it's extra stupid delays now. We should ask for extra 10% may be?
what does the rep offer for us? But to be honest, I do not want to go thru this again ever… meaning no shopping from delayinthebox.

        • @simonizmaster: Likewise I got the same email tonight. Would appreciate some form of compensation too.

        • Compensation would be great but I will be happy just to get the damn thing in my hands at this point!

        • +1

          @Birdseye:

True, seems mine has been picked up now though which is good. Might have it by Tuesday :) For what it's worth though, I clicked one of those spam emails and got a $30 USD rewards credit (with a $150 USD minimum spend)… But it expires in 1 weeks time.

          I have a feeling a 10% reward credit will also have a similar expiry -_- . ffs

        • @musicinbed69: Yeah I probably won't jumping in to use a 10% credit anytime soon…
I got the same tracking notice as others so it looks like everyone (hopefully) should have their package by tomorrow. Counted back to order date that's 15 business days for me, which is 6 above the upper estimate they gave on their site initially for processing + delivery. Felt like longer than that!

I'll give them some credit for getting the final delivery done through the weekend so at least we're not waiting even longer, though an extended warranty as Slong mentions below would be a nice incentive to give them another chance.

        • @dust: Dang.. the first order date was in 24th of March! This took almost 1 month! to get it delivered…

      • My DHL tracking estimates Tuesday delivery…about damn time! I think an extended warranty would be a nice form of compensation. Would prefer that over anticipating snail mail delivery all over again.

    17 Apr 17 1:00 PM - Returned to shipper - SINGAPORE,SINGAPORE

I am lost for words right now. Is there any shipping company that'll actually ship to Aus?!

    • DHL guy 1: this one should get there Monday.
DHL guy 2: but that's a public holiday.
DHL guy 1: huh. Guess we'll just send it back then.

    • WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF me too.

      what the hell.
      exfthrdgytherwpiyobkhj4ti6ghw

Is it even because of a holiday?? Or have they literally rejected the package of something? This is ridiculous.

      • Yep, got the same message. Returned to shipper today. :(

        • same here, and what is funny was the lightinthebox
Company send me email saying it will arrive to me no later than 13/04. This company is hopeless! Anyone disagree? Now can we start paypal refund process ? Be relastic guys

      • Yeah this is just a joke now, just when we thought it started going right everything goes wrong again.

    • +3

      Outrageous!

LITB best be compensating us for this issue.

If they don't rectify this to our satisfaction they should definitely be banned from posting further deals on OzBargain.

      • +1

I mean, at this point they would need to give us $120+ as a partial refund to be satisfied, but I can't see that happening.

And they sent this from singapore… but they aren't even based in singapore.. so where the (profanity) has this been 'returned' to?

They keep repeating the same problem of not (profanity) checking that these packages are okay to send with the shipping company. Do they know and just ignore it? ughhh. Paypal disputing tomorrow unless something miraculous happens.

        • 2 paypal disputing now, we need more bros, come on

        • @ATO: Right, well, I've now made a claim, and now escalated it with paypal. I just want my money back now, shame I won't get the $17~ back I spent in conversion fees ugh :\ .

        • @ATO: Dude I would but I didn't actually go through Paypal…which means I will have to try and get a refund direct from LITB. Seriously worried about my chances after this debacle.

        • @Birdseye: I did try to get refund from LITH but they rejected for the reason that it has been shipped out. shame on them. That's why I go for Paypal

  • I'm still in the processing stage. However they sent me a voucher for 72USD off a 144USD purchase. Anyone else get that?

    • No I didn't get that. Not sure if I want to fork out another 72 USD with LightInTheBox though.

If we just got a 72 USD voucher with no minimum spend that would be okay.

  • Has anyone had LITB confirm their order has been sent back to the shipper again?

I enquired about what was going on, specifically regarding the shipping return notice on tracking number, and got the same generic message back that it had been shipped and to wait a week.

Have they acknowledged it's coming back, or is it an error in the tracking?

They also refuse to respond to questions regarding compensation. How is it that some people have been offered vouchers?

Very poor service. Sadly I didn't pay with PayPal. Lesson learned with LITB.

    • It is very unfortunate not using PAYPAL. There is no way you can get refund but have to wait

    • DHL wouldn't tell me why it was sent back, but DHL told me yes, it was sent back. A new tracking number was used for each package to be sent back, and person by the name of "FONG" accepted it in Singapore just after 9AM on the 18th.

Yeah I honestly think their customer service could be automatic and computerised because they never listen or mention specifically what you're saying.

Sucks you didn't use paypal :\ . I hope they're telling the truth that they simply didn't put the right sticker on it and can re-send (AGAIN). But I also wonder, maybe they didn't put the sticker on it because they were hoping they could sneak these through.

      • I had the same FONG accept my parcel in Singapore. Their customer service is appalling… Every question I ask gets a generic response asking me to wait ridiculous amounts of time.

  • Finally a breakthrough! Got a new tracking number from DHL last night at 7:45pm, and as of 5:15 this morning it is showing as 'Customs Status updated - Location: Melbourne, Australia'.

Hoping that 1) It actually is in Melbourne and I'm going to finally get it today and 2) that everyone else's are on their way too!

    • you must be joking. How do you get the new tracking number? From DHL or LITH?

      • Mine still says returned to shipper. I submitted another ticket and the response simply asked if I would like it to be reshipped??! Unfortunately I didn't use Paypal either.

        • Status

This item not received dispute has been escalated to a claim.

We requested additional information from the seller about this transaction.

          What happens next

The seller has been asked to respond by 28 Apr 2017. Once we receive the information, we'll continue our review of this case.

PS:The sooner the better Guys, before this company disappear from our planet.

      • DHL just texted me out of the blue yesterday, with a new order/tracking number. It hasn't actually been delivered yet but tracking shows its on the way.
Damn I thought this meant everyone would be getting their orders 🙁

  • +2

Uhmmm funniest thing happened…DHL just rocked up to my house and delivered it wtf. I never received any new tracking number or update from LITB whatsoever. Hope everyone gets theirs soon

    • Oh nice. Good for you and thanks for the update. Here's hoping the rest of our orders arrive soon!

  • Good news… I think!

I also got a text tonight from DHL saying my order was being delivered soon.

It quoted a different tracking number; one I hadn't received from LITB before.

When I look up that tracking number it says it's expected to be delivered by end of day tomorrow (Friday).

It seems the recent DHL tracking number LITB gave us was erroneous, irrelevant or out of date. They've reshipped it again and not given us the most recent tracking number.

Hopefully that means we call get our orders soon. The next step is seeking compensation as we didn't get what we paid for.

    Good luck!

    • I just got an email from LITB stating that my order has been shipped once again…. and all it says it has been picked up again from Singapore but tracking estimates it is going to be delivered by Wednesday the 26th…. it's something but not what I was expecting to be honest.
Edit: new tracking number too btw

    • I've received a new DHL tracking number too. it estimates delivery by tomorrow even though it was only picked up and processed in singapore a couple hours ago.

At least it passed the processed part this time. If I get it by tomorrow without any damage or problems I'll be quite relieved.

  • +2

There are a lot of people who have been affected by this issue, yet the post only has 5 negative votes.

I think in the interests of highlighting potential issues for future customers of LITB we should exercise our right to a negative vote.

If you have ordered this item as advertised with 4-5 day expedited delivery and not received it after 4 weeks, and if you have experienced poor customer service, then I implore you to give this deal a negative vote.

My vote won't be changing once I receive the notebook. This has been unacceptable.

    • +1

I would have but it seems I can't change my vote, maybe it's locked in now.

      • You can revoke your positive vote in the votes tab, direct link. You cannot change your vote however.

        Thanks

  • The main post has been updated with new details and a small compensation offer.

The offer is different (and much less) than Autonomic was offered as per his post above. I'd ask why that is but I'm sure I won't get an answer.

The update says we need to choose to resend by standard post (7-30 days) or opt for a refund as standard post is required 'due to batteries issue'.

If that's the case then why is it that several users report receiving their orders by non-standard post already? How is it that DHL is suggesting I have a delivery coming tomorrow? As ever LITB makes very little sense!

    3% equates to roughly US$20 in vouchers…

    • I know that's so weird… Cuz mine has departed from singapore with DHL now. So seems again customer service is all over the place.
I was offered 10% credit way earlier, so hopefully that offer still stands for me.. kinda weird that the rep has been advised only 3%.
They definitely have some major customer service problems lol..

edit: kinda makes me think the ones that did get through DHL got through by lying about the batteries. Maybe they kept the lithium declaration on the package and then removed them to resend? Lmao. I'll see what's on the package when/if I get it.

  • Mine arrived yesterday. It had stickers on the box saying it had lithium batteries inside so I don't think they tried to fool DHL, maybe just didn't have the right paperwork the first (or second!) times.

Formatted and booted to a fresh copy of English language Windows 10 and so far so good. Still a bit pissed off about the run around but glad it's over.

    • So you won't get any compensation because yours has been shipped??!

      • hi dear, i have checked. for those has been shipped order we still provide the compensation, but need provide your order number. also the 3% value of the orders with no minimum spend

        • Okay great. PM sent.

  • Mine arrived this afternoon. Hope the rest of the orders arrive soon too!

  • Got my laptop 10 mins ago. It's sexyyyyyy. cancelling paypal dispute.

    • +1

glad you like it, and apologize for the long time delay.

  • No luck for me today :(

DHL tracking updated several times to say it was cleared through customs and it's in Sydney ready for delivery, but then late this afternoon the status changed to 'on hold' with no other explanation.

It still says delivery is expected by the end of day today but it's 6pm and it's 'on hold'.

At least it seems it is on it's way! Glad to hear others have had theirs arrive.

    • +1

on hold means it has delivered but failed

  • BTW guys, this deal still works for Windows 10 pro, in fact it's a tad cheaper now. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/293839

    $8.93 AUD :)

    • Is this a much better alternative than downloading the iso for free from Microsoft and reinstalling it over the top of the Chinese version?

      • +1

Well I was after the pro version, which you need if you want to remote desktop into it apparently. I'm not 100% sure installing over the chinese would work, technically it shouldn't since a chinese license != english license. But I think I remember someone saying it worked for them..?

And btw, all the drivers can be downloaded automatically through windows update, so no need to chase anything down. If you want to use 3 finger press for middle click, apparently that touchpad option is included in the creator update, which is advertised in the windows update section. I'm downloading it now.

    • +1

I bought from here a few weeks ago but it said the key has been used on another device. I'm sure I can still have it activated through Microsoft by calling, but I paid for it to save having to waste my time…

  • +1

Lightinthebox advised me my laptop has been shipped….via regular post. So it can take up to 6 weeks to arrive (10-20 business days up to 30 business days). I don't know what I can do here…I want the laptop but I don't want to wait another 4 weeks after 3 have already passed.

  • So I tried to get that 10% reward points compensation I was offered a while back. That ticket was closed by customer service before, so I had to open a new ticket, but of course since I've already stated that I've received the package I had to choose between "return or refund" and "custom duty issue" when creating a new ticket. I chose the latter.

I then stated the ticket # for them to look at where they offered the credit, and to please add it to my account. The response I got was:

We are contacting you to inform you that our records show that there is another ticket in our system. We would like to avoid confusion when communicating and help expedite the process; therefore, we are deleting this ticket and move forward using the other ticket. Please kindly login to view ticket: 15180626 for our reply.

They then closed that ticket, so I couldn't 'complain to a supervisor' from within that ticket.

And of course, the ticket they reference had no reply -_-. Also a day ago they had stated there was a reply to my paypal complaint and to login and read it there, and of course NO REPLY (but this is closed now anyway).

Their customer service simply MUST be automated or something, how can they state there are new replies when there are none? It's like a computer system taking a guess. I've never experienced such terrible customer service.

Anyway, I have 'complained to supervisor' on an old ticket (#15187186), and made sure that all my other tickets are CLOSED, and again repeated what I said before. But I wonder if that will get me anywhere either.

I already have a $30 credit from a previous spam email I clicked on, but that expires on the 22nd (tomorrow). I'd like to combine it with the 10% to YOLO some other stuff but idk if that's going to happen at this rate -_-.

  • +1

Mine arrived today :) now just to put English windows on it and we're sweet
What would be the best way to do it, is it downloading the ISO for windows 10 from Microsoft and buying an OEM key?

  • +1

    Mine arrived today also… finally!

Currently downloading the Windows 10 bootable directly from Microsoft.

  • Any more deals with this laptop?
