There are rumours that services will stop running at midday. This is not true. We will continue to run services where it’s safe to do so. We’re monitoring conditions and we’ll continue to update our channels with the latest info.

Would have been nice to extend this to all the people who caught public transport to work and then got told to leave before 10am…
It is still a nice gesture in any event.
I was one of those… 5 mins after I got to work (soaked to the skin) we were all told to leave again.
Spent 3 hours on the train today (in a 4 hour period) - not fun - and it was all pointless.
At least the ride home was free (I agree, nice gesture by Translink). Cost me around $13 to train to work tho.
its been a horrible day.. wouldn't bother to get out even to buy beer/milk, if I had too.. forget taking the public transport..

@Infidel: Ta, Robina is my local. Picked up at lunchtime today. Although traffic around Robina mall was a mare.
Anyone know if this includes the air train? Got someone flying into Brisbane this afternoon and needs to get to the gold coast… May be safer on the train than having someone drive up and back.
To the best of my knowledge the Air Train is a privately owned line and may not offer the free travel as the Translink Network.

Thursday 30th March - Free public transport will be provided across the entire South East Queensland network for bus, train, ferries, trams and Airtrain. This free travel offer commences from 10:00am until 3:00am on Friday 31 March 2017. These arrangements are in place to ensure customers are able to travel home safely during this weather event. Airtrain customers please do not touch-on or touch-off your go card or buy a paper ticket/e-ticket for travel on this day.
