    These are terrible, MicroUSB cable gets stuck in and they don't have any kind of nice click to them like other adaptors (ie Xiaomi).

      The new USB style.
      Similar size to micro (current phone standard) but they work upside down and support audio and video lines.
      So on new devices they are becoming the new all in one connector.

      The use of this converter is that you can use "old" micro cables with newer devices. The main use would be if you get a new device like GalaxyS8, you will want to convert some old cables and perhaps carry one around in wallet until C cables become common at friends houses etc.
      Not much around right now, but in two years it should become dominant connector.
