Telstra HTC Desire -$400 Call/Text + 3GB Data for $63.50 p/m

90

Sign up for the $49 deal and ask for 3gb instead of 500mb and it comes to $63.50.

This is done by the 50% off data pack special.

Note you can change up or down data allowance through out your 24 month contract.

The phone is amazing also I believe sense UI > IOS.

ie.

$39 base cap plan + 50% off data pack

makes:
$10 -500mb =$49 minimum plan!!
$19.50 -1gb = $58.5
$24.50 -3gb =$63.50
$38.50 -6gb =78.50

This is an excellent deal if you ask me telstra is the fastest provider with best coverage.

  • iphone 4 as well..

  • Can you remove the data entirely? So your costs are $39/month.

    • Unfortunately not minimum is $49

  • -1

Note you can change up or down data allowance through out your 24 month contract.

Not at half price. If you want to change outside the promo period then you will pay full price.

  • Also if you have a Telstra homeline or some other service you can drop the price by $10 with bundling :D

    • Correct. That is good value as well and also applies to Business caps. (ABN required)

I picked up a HTC Desire recently on the $49 Business Cap. Telstra Business are offering a slightly different deal - an extra 1gb data.

So for $49 per month I get $400 worth of calls and 1.2gb.
      24 mth plan - $0 phone repayment

      FYI

On Telstra Business caps, excess data comes straight out of your monthly call credit (charged at $0.25 per MB).
Excess data on consumer caps are charged outside of the $400 incl credit.

Check out the Telstra (Mobile Carriers) forum on Whirlpool for more info - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/114?g=139

      • So you don't have to pay anything upfront for the phone, it's just $49/mnth for 24 months?

        • Yep.

          $0 upfront $49 a month
Includes $400 included calls & 1.2GB of data for 24 mths
          on a 24mth plan
          Total cost $1176 minimum

If you purchase it through JB HIFI and port your number in from another carrier, you will receive a $100 gift card.

(Ignore the data rates advertised.. the promotion is with Telstra and you WILL get the extra gig of NextG data!)

      • I was unable to add a business cap phone to my home line as the business cap uses "the old billing system".

        • It appears you're right, sorry about that.

Personally I do not have any other Telstra services to bundle but with the comprehensive research/trawling I did over on Whirlpool I recalled seeing that some people had been bundling their home and new mobile plans. In those case it must have been on the consumer caps only.

Apparently all new Business plans are being entered into the "old billing system" (Legacy) and will be migrated to the new system over the next 6 months or so to the "new billing system" (Siebel)

  • I purchased this phone on Friday and upgraded to 1GB for $53.50/month (plus $100 gift card from JB Hifi)

Just called in this morning and got it switched to 3GB - took about 2 minutes - this is a great deal for a cool phone
