  • good deal, shame about the shipping though.

  • are these the same imports as COTD?

  • +2

I'd get them except for the fact i have about 200 in the cupboards from cotd..

    • same here… i still have heaps left from the CoTD sales…

  • +1

OP… price is $4.99 by the way and not $4.95 like you have said.

and dont forget you could get 2x 60 for $9.98 and only pay the shipping once (I'm pretty sure anyway…)

  • Picked up two, almost running out of my COTD supplied ones.
They're good to share in the office :)
    At about 13c each it's a bargain!

  • +4

I've Twittered my Dentist to ask whether i should get these or not…

    • +6

      lol
i think i could probably answer that for you and I've got zero dentistry experience…
      ;)

    • +2

I hope you actually have your dentist on twitter :)

      • +1

        to his assistant:
        "extractors… forceps…. smartphone…"

    • +5

Ive brought numerous, both parallel and 'normal' and they taste exactly the same.

      • -2

They do taste the same to me, too. But this still isn't a bargain. It's more expensive than the day-to-day price at any $2 shop, such as Go-Lo.

        • +3

You really have something against this deal, bad experience?

          • -2

@Matador_OZ: Yep. Well, bad experience with a COTD deal. Was a little shocked to find them covered in vietnamese writing with a sticker saying 'only for sale in vietnam', and then when I went past BigW later in the week saw them cheaper anyway. But as I said, I didn't notice any taste difference. But yeah my maths failed me on the price comparison to Go-Lo.

            • @salem: I noticed a slight taste difference, it's not as sweet.

  • Benesan,

Ordered the mentos from vietnam from these guys and it tasted exactly the same, ordered some of these to flog off at work. Just because they are meant for nam doesn't mean u cant sell them here

  • Parallel import from Vietnam =(

    • +3

everything is bargain if you calculate that way. lol

    • +2

      I think you mean $12 for 60

    • +3

      You got your calculations wrong.
      $2 for 10
      $12 for 60

    • +2

      $2 for 10 means $12 for 60.

      $4.99 + $5.99 = $10.98 < $12, hence bargain.

    • +2

heh. Retardo moment. Sorry guys. -4 votes? I think I'll even neg myself on this one if i can…

    • Lets see how many Neg you can get on your comment, salem :P

But yes, I'm kidda scared of viet's imports. Last time the mentos deal on COTD had some funny texture which doesn't seem right. But Chupa Chups are not chewy so should be ok.

  • where is it on the site does it specify its vietnamese?

    • -1

click on the picture on the website. you can clearly see the vietnamese words on the packaging.

  • yep viet parallel import agree they do taste inferior

  • +5

I've been eating the ones with Vietnamese writing on the packet from COTD. They taste the same to me. I'm still alive (and can still do maths to work out the bargain) so I guess there's no negative effects! xD

That ACA report said the properly imported ones come from China anyway. I've seen how some things are made in China and it's probably not much better than Vietnam haha.

    • Lol. I gave u a pos vote purely for the "I can do the maths…" comment.

    • +1

Lol, I'm tempted to neg you just for quoting ACA!!! ;)

  • -3

    Vietnam > China :)

  • SUPPORT VIETNAM!!

Poor deal! If they were Australian it would be decent, but Vietnam ones cost NOTHING! I pick them up in random shopping centre sales where they sell other fake junk and crappy perfume and they are about $2 for a bag of 60..

    • +1

      but Vietnam ones cost NOTHING!

      and then…

they are about $2 for a bag of 60..

Sure… its not the best bargain in the world… But I think your maths needs some help too buddy…

      • +2

Simple enough mistake…he forgot to carry the 1, or maybe it was a transposition error…or, that sketchy bi-quinary number system they use in Vietnam on their abacus! :p

Sorry nubzy, you're on your own! ;)

  • +1

Big W have the same import ones in a plastic cylinder for $4.99 on Monday. I'll double check on qnty next time I'm there.

  • I bought some from the last sale..
you end up having no idea what to do with them all!

  • <3 the watermelon + orange ones , ohhh and the apple/mango ones that got chucked into one of the viet packs where fantastic

  • +1

oh jeez.. guys its just candy.. seriously..

    • +1

Shhhh, don't rile them when they're on a sugar high!!! ;)

    • serious enough to feed alot of viet families.

    • +1

      Stop saying candy!
