      • Streams, that's exactly my point. I'm not being negative, genuinely curious as I might be using Kodi wrong, but why wouldn't I just get the latest releases online? Clearer, bluray quality, latest releases.

        • heres the rub mate. Download from whatever source whatever quality you want, and use Kodi to play the release.

        • @someguycalledpaul: So basically it's real time torrenting because high quality videos wouldn't be made available on just some hosting site.

        • +1

@YellowKnight: Stream online from hosting sites, stream p2p. Play offline library content. Doesn't really matter up to you. Theres paid iptv also and live sports also.

        • +1

          @YellowKnight:

If you can only find low quality versions, you don't have the right repos.

  • Thanks - Just purchased.

    Paul

  • DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER.

horrible shipment times. Waited 3 weeks.

    • +2

did you read the shipment times on checkout? 3 weeks is expected..

      • No he means just to process the item, forget the 1 - 4 days. I ordered on the 20th of April, It was been processed at the Netherlands post office on the 10th of May. I'll let you know how the item is in another three weeks when it gets delivered. I don't think anyone's received theirs from the last deal.

  • Can anyone confirm if Netflix works ? I have one from a different seller and videos crash after 5 seconds ><"

  • I read some users running kodi/exodus on this mibox has sound sync issues. Anyone experienced the same? Have been wanting a Mibox and really keen but don't want to buy something that does not work.

    • I read about this and bailed on the purchase because of it.

    • Wasn't this fixed by this solution?

"While video is playing pause and go to audio options on the onscreen display, here you will find audio offset from here correct the sync by trial and error, once you've got it in the audio options menu go down to the bottom and you can click save as default for all videos."

      • Thanks. Will this fix the issue permanently?

        • Try it and see. I just did some Googling to see (if I wanted to buy one), most people said they fixed it by the above.

        • @justmiike: Thanks. Quite tempting.

        • @jeeg: Can't confirm the fix because at that point I jumped out but yes it has a delay in audio.

        • @ritzo90: Thanks mate. Won't be buying this in this case.

        • +1

          @jeeg:

I have been using KODI Exodus without any Audio sync issues on my Mi Box. Might be an old issue that might have got resolved?

        • @batrarobin: Hmm….that is good to know. Are u running Full HD 1080p streams?

        • +1

          @jeeg: Yes always :)

        • +1

@jeeg: can also confirm that i haven't had any sound sync issues with exodus at 1080p

        • +1

@simulacrum: Cheers for the update buddy.

  • What's the verdict? Worth getting from these guys?

    • Seems ok as PostNL is now tracking my package.. it'll just take a few weeks to ship if you don't go for one of the expedicted shipping options. I ordered on 3/5, it made it to the PostNL sorting centre on 10/5

  • Been waiting three weeks. In hindsight I would prefer to pay $10 more and have the box delivered within a week or so

    • +2

Anyone who has received there wants to comment if this is International version and comes with genuine accessories.

      • Listing actually has genuine photos of what's being shipped. Definitely the international version and definitely genuine.

      • Got mine.

It is the international version box. Not a genuine Xiaomi power plug though. It's a European plug, but comes with an adapter to Australian plug. I have another one of these i bought in October just after release date from Walmart and the power plug is a genuine one on that one. Not a biggie to be honest.

        • Plug or transformer? If former, not a biggie. If latter, biggie if not the one provided by Xiaomi. Big biggie - instead of giving you a GENUINE transformer (with necessary plug to convert), they're giving you a NON-GENUINE transformer. Why? Wouldn't touch a 3rd party transformer with a barge pole.

        • +1

          @Gav:

          Just the plug

        • @KRM123:

@KRM123 - when you say you bought a genuine one, you mean the au power plug that came with your other one you bought was a genuine xiaomi Australian plug?

Meanwhile they are giving out a plug (e.g. a travel adapter style plug) for connecting to this EU power pack?

is that an issue - using EU based power packs with an aus plug here? or it only the transformer that's an issue?

  • Interesting that these only have 3 months warranty (see Q&A on listing). Refurbs perhaps? Something very, very fishy here.

    • Chinese company. Do you expect them to have warranties like Australia?

      • If you're an authorised distributor, as they claim to be, then it'd be the manufacturer's warranty period, which is stated as 12 months. If it's not new or from some other grey channel, and they decide to take on warranty themselves, then it's whatever they want it to be.

        • Xiaomi aren't international and don't offer an international warranty so it's going to be up to the store.

        • @Clear: Prove it.

        • +2

          @Gav: Prove that they do?

According to mi.com the regions are US, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia and Mena. The International page is only for the US and their warranty period is 12 months for the US.

In the case of Lightinthebox they would have ordered from Xiaomi China and I doubt you'll have much luck getting warranty support from them.

  • So tracking number now doesn't work. This just gets better and better…

    • Copy the number and paste into the tracking facility on PostNL's website… mind you for me it was about 5 days from the item being marked as sent before PostNL recognized the number.

  • Has anyone received any items of value (decent amount like this) thes elast few months? Still haven't received anything from the Xiao mi mi band and want to hold off … pity shopping square or banggood aren't offering the mi box 3 again at this price.

  • I used express tracking for $12 and it arrived Monday. I threatened to cancel my order after 2 weeks of no dispatch and it was sent a few days later.

    • is it legit?

      • Seems to be

  • Hmmmm my order has been 'on transport to destination country' for the best part of a week. Is this thing just floating around in the ocean somewhere?

    • Downsides of China Post and the other free methods. That means it's somewhere between the plane to Australia and your house.

      • At least it's on a plane… I thought it could be cargo on a boat given how long it takes

        • Sit in big containers at the processing centre and sent off as each one is filled. Given low priority.

  • Ordered on 25th April. 'Shipped' on 5th May. Tracking only became active on the 12th, and it says 'item is pre-advised' which apparently means they're yet to receive it (Netherlands). I feel like a month isn't even a good estimate.

Doubt I'll go through these guys again, that's pretty ordinary service.

    • Agreed. Wwould much prefer to pay even $20 extra just to get it in a reasonable time…

Good experience feedback - I came across this deal after the coupon had expired. I contacted the OP and asked if can reactivate the coupon (last week Tuesday) - they were very kind and did so. I ordered then. Paid extra for Express shipping (25AUD to Perth). And it is being delivered today.

For an all outlay of AUD100, I have it within 6 days. Not bad. And communication wit the seller was great.

Summary - dont complain about free shipping from china taking 3 weeks, if you pay for shipping - it comes quick.

I'll comment back with my impressions when I get it. I'll be a power user of it, demanding lossless audio bitstreaming from local media. This will be replacing my trusty WDTV and so I expect a lot, but from my readings, with the latest firmware update, it should be quite capable. I gave up on making my own using a Pine64+ board, as that does not bitstream lossless audio.

    Cheers

    • Would you mind checking if the app store supports downloading the 'viki' app for asian drama streaming - for the mrs. I would assume any android would, but then given my dad's samsung tv doesnt (yet my smaller smart tv samsung does) I'm not too sure all apps are made equal on an android environment.

Interesting that you apid express and got it so quickly. I ordered their mi band (fitness tracker)in the april deal, took from 10 apirl circa to 24 april to ship and still no word of it. so yeah, free shipping is the pits. MY biggest worry is whether the seller is legit given I haven't received anything yet.

Can you comment on the whole aus adapter/plug thing which some are complaining/brining up above?

    • Can confirm
      - AU adapter works fine. Is a EU plug otherwise
      - DTS-HDMA, True-HD, DTS, DD+, Netflix HD+5.1, 1080p Youtube, all confirmed working excellently
      - kodi working flawlessly
      - local media playback excellent, good implementation of pause, skip, chapter

Very happy. Has officially replaced my WDTV Live SMP

      • Great! I'll give it a shot. Might have to order priority for that extra $10 from what others are saying about it not arriving….

    • I tried and I can't work out how on earth to get the coupon to work?

It's got group buying of $96.08? Yet "buy alone" is $85.79. Utterly confused - is group buying meant to be cheaper than 'buying alone' and what is this whole group buying thing?

WHen I go through the 'proceed to checkout' both amounts only get reduced by $5 using the "mibox" code - am I doing something wrong? or is it finished?

      • Select USD - 59.99 - add to cart - proceed to checkout - add coupon at bottom MIBOX - ~57US free shipping, add on shipping extras. Confirmed just then

      • Change the currency to USD.

  • Hi all,

Before ordering this can I ask given it says hdmi 2.0a does this mean if I have an old LCD tv that has HDMI when it first came out (one port in the back) that this can connect? Are the heads/connectors the same between HDMI versions - like usb 2 vs usb 3? And are they backwards compatible?

Would appreciate anyone who's got a box to do a play store search if the viki streaming/video service app is available as that's the main reason I'd be buying this (for the mrs).

Has everyone who's paid the $13 or whatever it is for express shipping received this much faster - or is it a waste of time and you'll still receive the slow timeframes?

    • Hey viki app is available and the app seems pretty good , optimised for android tv rather than mobile.

      • hey! thanks for the feedback - awesome! how does one check when an app is optimised for the platform/device your using out of curiousity?

  • is this a stitchup… how long is it going to take……..

  • Mine just got to Australia according to tracking. Took a week on a boat/plane to get here though. So far been 28 days from ordering.

  • mine says shipped but there is no tracking information provided yet. I ordered on 8th May

  • Mine has arrived in Australia so should get it by Friday next week.

A tip: Enter your tracking number on Auspost website, if it says "Events Pending" that means it hasn't landed in Australia yet..and if it says "Sorry, this item can't be tracked", that means it has arrived in Australia but Auspost won't display any tracking info.

    • Mine too arrived in Australia this morning. Hopefully not too long to wait. Haven't checked Auspost tracking, but original tracking shows "arrived in destination country".

      • Last i got this on 10th may for my mi bands it took till the 18th before aus post delivered. so don't be surprised if a good week and more for aus post to move it from 'in this country' to your doorstep :)

I only ordered mine on the 18th, so I am hoping somehow mine gets here alot quicker than everyone who ordered back in april :(

      • Mine arrived at local post office, awaiting puckup as no one was home yesterday.

  • Not keen on the long wait time. Is there somewhere else with faster shipping times that may be a few dollars more?

  • +1

Just received mine today (arrived in australia yesterday morning).

So people should be receiving them soon!

    • +1

Mine was delivered this morning (to Melbourne) too with standard delivery. Purchased on April 20, shipped on May 3.

    • +1

Mine also turned up today. Turned out to be about a month which is what we expected. Not too bad.

    • +1

If these things are landing in the Eastern States, that means another 7 working days before we get them in WA :(

  • +1

Turned up today (Regional VIC)….all legit with AU adapter…happy daze

  • Has anyone else had theirs just die on them after about an hours watching?

  • I've just ordered one using the MIBOX code in the OP and seemed to work well. Though I know this deal is still marked as valid (i.e. not marked 'EXPIRED') I thought I'd confirm that it is still running if anyone else is looking to purchase.

    • Just ordered another one yesterday, the code still works and it's been shipping already today :)

      • what?! you ordered yesterday and you got 'shipped' already?

I ordered at least 2-3 days ago but am still pending. :(

        • My apologies I just checked on their website, I actually confused it with a different order shipment confirmation. The one that I ordered on Friday is still showing as "Processing".

  • Mine took just over 2 weeks to come

  • Mine arrived yesterday! Very happy with it so far

  • Mine has not arrived yet. Wish I could say the same about the spam, which keeps coming no matter how many times I unsubscribe.

  • What is the difference between this and their other listing http://www.lightinthebox.com/official-international-version-… ?

  • bought one Thanks.
I will see shipping time on this. :)

  • Cannot get WiFi to connect on mine… Its not looking good.

    • I found wifi didn't work that well anyway and used a usb-ethernet adapter. WD TV still had the best wifi.

      • Yes, I have the usb-ethernet adapter. I was just playing in my bedroom with it, it really didn't like wifi.

Also, the automatic time setting doesn't work (sets it to 1/1/15 11.00 am), and if I set the time manually, it resets anyways.

Kodi completely exits if you press stop when playing a video.

        Sigh.

One day they'll get these things right.

        • Kodi, time and Wifi work fine on mine

        • Try spmc rather than kodi, it works 100% for me, with recommendations and voice search.

And your time problem is very weird, I don't get that!

      • @tony76 and @OZB AI - which usb-ethernet adapter were you using? I saaw in other pots the ugreen one being recommended as compatible (gives you ethernet and 3 usb ports off the one xiaomi usb port) - be curious to know what your both using and how much?

        • I used an old Microsoft surface pro adapter I had laying around, that ugreen sounds better.

        • I'm using the ugreen one, about $26 delivered.

  • For the people that have already received theirs, can I ask if the tracking changed once it arrived in Australia? tracking it to your door.

Mine has been sitting at "The item has arrived in the country of destination" since Monday.

    • That's usually when the tracking stops as Auspost won't update it.

      • Oh ok, cheers Clear.

I will just patiently wait then :)

        • Where are you located in Australia?

        • +1

          @Stuzi: I'm in Newcastle.

        • @jasebass: Thanks, just in the same boat, hopefully it gets to us soon!

        • @Stuzi: Arrived today, took a month to arrive.

          Ordered 29th April - delivered 29th May

        • @jasebass: I got mine yesterday, so ordered May 18, delivered 5th June. Not bad!!
