    any deals for 3.5", 5" or 7" touch screen lcds ? I need something for my raspberry pi

      I will be interested as well. For kids, what is the minimum age anyone recon to jump into Raspberry world. Kids less than 10 years old are watching videos online for this and getting fascinated about what these small beasts can do.

        mine is 2.5 years old, and using my Raspberry pi to watch cartoons.. (using openelec at the moment) I think for diy projects 5 years onwards should be doable. nothing will stop the biggest kid (yourself) from doing a few projects :) Looks at http://www.orangepi.org/ if you want a cheaper alternative, but less supported.

          Also, I am curious to know that video watching could have been done by a cheap 7" android tablet as well for around $70-80. Any reason you want Raspberry with touch screen.?

          Using Raspberry pi as a radio scanner (RTL SDR, which is a $10 usb tv tuner dongle), so small screen & battery pack will make it into a portable scanner :P

          I do use Raspberry pi as a media center for my tv, that might be hard to do right on a cheap tablet.

          @darkage: Thanks. Many say Raspberry Pi does fine, but struggle decoding Full HD content. That was the reason NUC became that popular.

          I never really had an issue with RPi2 unless if I tried to play a full Bluray rip. RPi3 should be better, but also I do alot of streaming so havent watched movies in ages.
