eBay - Spend $20 Get $10 off

590

Just received an email from Ebay for one of the item i was browsing around.

It came with a voucher code and does not seems generic.

It could be targeted but i thought will confirm with our community first.

According to the email, voucher expires on 3rd May, it is single use amd excludes postage.

    Voucher code?

    • +2

      does not seem generic

If not generic, you can't use it, only OP.

I wonder what I must do to receive these offers.

    • +4

I think you have to get an eBay tattoo.

      • +5

        between the cheeks

What, another one? The Magistrate won't be so understanding again.

Don't use ebay for a while and they'll give you free money. Be a loyal customer and you bring your own barrel.

  • What is the voucher code please? =)

Amazon, I pray for your swift arrival…

  • Not a bad discount if you get the offer and have stuff queue'd up or watching …

Just checked my account; nope no voucher page or anything for me :(

    Nothing here … sigh

  • Ebay never send me any promo emails - but I checked the Communication Preferences, I am opted in to all Promotions & Surveys. So weird.

  • where are these sent to? ebay inbox?
I never seem to get them. Would really like this one

Do you need to enable 'general email promotions' to get this for email only?

    • i would guess so? Try it

    • I got one of these offers last year, found it at the very bottom of the main logged-in page. So might pay to check the bottom of "My eBay: Summary" page?

  • +1

I got one. Does it have something to do with entering that promo a week back?

  • Out of all the targeted promotions from ebay, I've never been selected.

    • +6

You have been selected to not being selected.

    • +2

Guess it might have gone to one of the thousands of other Robert Smiths…. 😄

    • The only time I was selected was when I made a new account. I received an offer a week after. Nothing since then..

Pointless post. All these "targeted" deals I'm betting don't help anyone one Ozbargain as we are frequent users of Ebay/shopping sites and we know they don't give a stuff about their regular customers…
Belongs in the forums if anything.

    • +2

But it's got 38 votes already, so it must be helping some members.

    • +4

The post still has its merits because some targets may have been unaware of this.

    • +3

Mods are getting tired of letting people know you can hide them, otherwise for people like me and PJC we are happy.

    • You are right. I didn't use eBay for quite some time and got all these targeted vouchers. Now that I use it regularly they don't bother to send me targeted codes any more. :( They just try to win customers back and once they are back they couldn't care less.

Just received my Voucher code, Thanks OP.

evilBay - they take their loyal customers for granted. It seems like the more you buy, the more you get left out of these promos. Wasn't it 10% off $30 minimum purchase from Aussie sellers, and now it's 5%. Thinking of waiting in the hope there will be better Mother's Day promo codes, but I will already get into trouble w the seller who expects payment within 3 days.

  • I received and used mine for iPad Air keyboard & cover. Thanks OP. Been holding out for this.

  • Is there any tricks on getting targeted coupons? I never get one of this at all…

    • +1

Yes. Sign up another family member(s) on eBay. (My ma was signed up for a once off purchase). When that family member does not frequent eBay, you can be sure they will get a targeted promo. Use their promo code if you log in and purchase under their eBay name. (Your paypal account and address can be the same as your own ebay/Paypal account) I only knew about this when my mom received generous promo codes. I think one last year was like $20 off $50 minimum purchase - something like that, I used it. At least 1 more targeted code followed during the year. I'm hoping for another as she does not use eBay.

      • I haven't used for a year+ yet I don't have this at all…

Anyway, thanks for the tip. Might need to create some accounts now….

  • I have used 20% voucher three times in the last month…No promo, just turned up on Grays online eBay page….
    Hardy's VR Classic Red 2013 (6 x 1L), SE AUS (Qty 3)$105.00
    Item number40120900….
    Voucher-$21.00
    Total$84.00

  • This made me look into my 2nd account I made like a month ago and haven't purchased anything… I had a 20% off voucher waiting for me :D
