Need to edit the title to Woolworths, not Coles. :)

    • Oops, thanks for picking that up.

  • -3

You need to edit the title as they are not half price.

  • The cadbury chocolate is $2.14 in the QLD catalogue :)

  • Thanks for the summary.

  • thanks so much… will buy lots of juice :)

  • Has anyone tried the Sirena tuna and be able to comment how it is different to Greenseas/John West etc?

I mean, canned tuna is canned tuna right? Yet, there's such a big price difference - when Greenseas/John West flavoured 95g varities come on sale, they are $1/can…

    • the difference in my opinion is that sirena seem to taste better overall and packs in more in comparison to the others that a bog down with more water… though i've not had any problems really with greenseas or john west, i just prefer sirenas when they are on special :)

i've just had some john west just then and I can't really complain.

There actually is no difference between Sirena tuna w/ oil and the same for Greenseas I discovered last week. I had eaten Sirena for years till I tasted the Greenseas version, I'll be eating that one from now on. Virtually no difference.

      • thanks for the comments

  • i like the "other items" way of formatting, easy to read

    • me too, so much easier to read.

    • me three! thanks for the big effort you put in. cheers

  • sirenas is the best. nicer tuna in my opinion and a bit higher quality. they are all good though overall..

Wow, above and beyond the call of duty if you worked out all the % discounts. Good job

  • thanks all you guys who summarise half price deals from coles and woolies..IGA next?

don't encourage these pathetic attempts to get customers by these profit wh***s. Everyone that goes into the supermarket and gets things half price and then goes to get other shopping is an idiot. You do realise they compensate by knocking up the price of everything else so this product can come down in price. In the end they win because the profit swings in their favour.

If you want to get that product half price, go in and get a trolley full, then go to an independent supermarket/market etc. That way competition can be on a more level playing field…

    • +1

My understanding is it is the suppliers who pay for the discounts, not Woolies, so their profit margin is not effected.

Maybe once they were loss leaders for the supermarkets, but with the power of a duopoly, that loss has been passed on to the suppliers.

    • You make it sound like profiting from sales is a crime.

EDIT: Did not neg your comment for the record.

      • +1

I'll man up, I negged it coz it's an uninformed rant! I don't mind supporting the independents, but do it for the right reasons; no need for scare-mongering here! ;)

I know the prices of my regular purchases, so I can confirm anecdotally the logic of what Daabido said, they do not change according to specials on other products in any of the major food chains! :D

thanks for the summary! I've stopped receiving my weekly catalogues so this is awesome! +1

    great work. Much appreciated.

I do wonder why you only mention the packaged products.

Why no apples. The $2.20 big juicy sundowner apples are fantastic. Last week's $1.33 broccoli was superb.

They sell seafood mix and bacon half price sometimes. No meat on the list.

I guess it could vary from region to region and also the OP has a large cupboards and lots of freezer space to hoard the specials :)

But I'm not knocking the sterling work done.
