    Ship leaving China Today
RoboGuy knew for a WEEK that it didn't ship on time … so much for providing info when he can.
RoboGuy avoided logging in but is now salvaging what he can.
RoboGuy appears ready to finally offer something as a thank you (because he is forced to).
RoboGuy desperately trying to find a way of collecting goods from Port on Saturday, through Customs and into homes by Wednesday. Theoretically he could manage it IF it sails through customs and he ships them out on Monday or even Tuesday.

I asked to track the boat 2 weeks ago and he said he would look into it. Provided the info to PayPal but didn't even bother to log in here (just lurked instead).

I would prefer to pay more elsewhere..but it is now actually cheaper elsewhere..

    • +3

Yea arrival on Saturday means it will stay in the port until Monday afternoon (if lucky) but leaving the port on Tuesday is more likely providing there is no delays with paperwork or customs systems.

      • +2

He would then need to collect from Melbourne and ship straight out.
No time to send on to Albury, NSW.

More BS.. The reply RoboGuy gave to paypal was a lie…

"By the 18th of May 2017, we had processed, ordered, and paid for the goods required from our supplier to fulfil our customer's orders. Therefore, the money we received from the customer, for this order has already been used to pay for the ordered goods, we are waiting to receive from our supplier. We were told by our supplier that all of the goods would be sent on the 26th of May 2017 (https://goo.gl/3BkV6Z), however, unfortunately, that never happened. After much communication with them and eventually having to travel to Hong Kong to sort out the problems with the goods being shipped, our supplier has now promised that they will have the goods on a ship to Australia before the 30th of June. This means that we should be able to receive the goods and have them delivered to our customers around the 21-26th of July 2017 which would still be within the 30 day delay period outlined in our terms and conditions. This delay in delivery was caused by events outside of our control. We are doing everything in our power to have this customer's order delivered as it is in our best interest to satisfy the needs of our customers and to fulfil all of their orders. We have received confirmation from our supplier that the goods have shipped.""

Therefore this email was sent to Paypal before 30th June, yet he still said he hoped it would be 21-26th of July 2017. Now it is significantly delayed.

He came on here on 28th June when I asked: 6) Can you please confirm that when you say "goods that we are awaiting have been shipped" you mean that they now left China? Or just been shipped from your supplier?

And he replied: 6) We have been notified that the goods have been shipped to Australia and the ETA for arrival is the 15th of July.

    All,
I contacted Paypal for the third time in 3 days and finally spoke to a gentleman who was shocked that I had bought the vacuum on 12/5 and it still wasn't delivered. Given RoboGuy's last email we will need to wait until August at the very least.
Anyway PayPal decided on the spot to award the claim in my favour.
So thanks all for all your feedback and help. Time to get off this crazy bandwagon and move on with my life and my hard earned money.
I should also add that I bought the same vacuum from Gearbyte 2 weeks ago for less money than from RoboGuy and it was delivered within 4 days.
RoboGuy, if you are reading this, we all have lessons in life that need to be learned, sometimes the hard way. I myself have learned a lesson which unfortunately hardens my stance on new startups like yourself. It's a shame that you were too short sighted and did not understand how long term loyal customers can help build your business.

    • +1

I wish I could talk to this same gentleman! 4th call and they are still saying they can't make a decision until the 22nd of July. Frustrating.

      • +1

Keep trying until you get a gentleman by the name of John! :) Sorry no last name given. :)

      • +1

Yep, same here. They're holding out on us D:

    • +1

They told me last Friday as well that they decided to close it in my favor, but when I double checked it was closed and said that at this stage they couldn't rule in my favor based on the information provided by the seller. During a further follow up phone call they assured me that I would receive the refund no matter what the claim status would be/state. I later than also received an email saying that they could not rule in my favor in this case. So waiting for the refund to appear on my CC account atm.

What does it say when you look at the claim/transaction details on your account?

      • +2

It says case is completed. Refund of $455 is also completed.
And I can see $455 credit in my Paypal account.
Also a message stating that the money will be put back onto my credit card within 5 days time.

I should also add that I too got an immediate email from RoboGuy stating that HE executed the refund!
        Complete BS!
Even though it is an automated email, it does give the impression that the refund was initiated by him, like he was doing us a favour.

So just to be clear, he rejected my request for a refund even though I asked very politely at the beginning and subsequently chose to ignore all my subsequent emails when I attempted to reason with him. So to have such an email indicating that he has refunded us by his own goodwill??!! Complete and utter BS. This guy is full of it and to be frank he doesn't deserve to be in this business and I really wish that PayPal shuts down his account immediately and that ozbargain bans him from this site. He has lied on numerous occasions and have avoided all responsibility. If he stood up and taken on responsibility and offered refunds or a reduction in purchase price, I'm sure the outcome for him and for many others would have been very different i.e. a lot more pleasant for him and for his customers (or whatever customers he has left)

Hopefully for those sticking around you do realise that you can purchase the item right now from other sellers and get it cheaper and more importantly, get it delivered in time and from a known reliable seller who has the support mechanism in place should you require a warranty claim. Do you really believe that RoboGuy will come through with warranty claims? Given his behaviour of not taking responsibility to date, I can put a safe bet that he will find someone to blame and skirt all responsibility when its crunch time.

        Enough said.

Good luck to the rest. I do hope you either get your money back or your vacuum (albeit at a cheaper price)

    • im in the same boat, called paypal today and got the dispute closed in my favour immediately

I also bought from Gearbyte and have been enjoying my Mi Robot for the last 3 days, im very happy with it and im even gladder im off this crazy ride with my $$$ soon to be back in my account

    • I lodged dispute with paypal and they refunded money in few days didn't need to speak to anyone

  • +3

I've just called Paypal and all i had to give them was my name. After about 5 minutes, they've confirmed they have invalid tracking info and all, so they will issue me a refund immediately.

good luck to you all. and good bye Roboguy.

    • +1

      Lucky you.
Called 5 times, they refused every time stating that they had a tracking number and that delivery is due by 22nd july and would not refund me until that date. And that this was a decision for all roboguy customers who raised a complaint.

I got the tracking number. It scans as invalid.
One lady told me if I was not happy to log a complaint using [email protected].

Very unhappy with Paypal right now. Lodged on the 23rd, apparently they received shipping info from vendor on the 6th of July. Apparently 2 months is completely acceptable for delivery.
Really sounds like they are trying to protect the seller on this one.

I dont want the vacuum anymore. I dont want Roboguy to ship it to me. But if they are going to force it, then fine. Let him ship it, let him waste the shipping money as I refuse delivery and ship it back and seek full refund.
      Such stupidity.

Even more stupidity on my behalf. I didn't pay using a CC for this, it was a "bank transfer" so I cant easily reverse it. Lesson learned, bank account will be removed as soon as complaint is finished.

      • I dont want the vacuum anymore. I dont want Roboguy to ship it to me. But if they are going to force it, then fine. Let him ship it, let him waste the shipping money as I refuse delivery and ship it back and seek full refund.

        That's my plan.

        • He put T&C in about that so be careful.
Bottom line, you can ask for a refund if not received by that date (so he can refund you and then you can refuse delivery).
If it arrived on 25th you can just accept and ship back..

        • @smashed: Isn't refusing delivery the same as accepting and shipping back, except I don't have to bug PayPal for return shipping costs?

        • @f4te: No idea. Just letting you know (too busy right now to check it out).

      • +1

I get the same message. I have called twice today and still need to wait until the 22nd for a non-delivery, even explaining it wont be in Australia until this date but they wouldnt budge.

        • +1

very obvious that it really depends on who you speak to at Paypal unfortunately.

I can only imagine RoboGuy is reading all these comments and sweating on how many refunds Paypal is going to force upon him.

I can only hope as many as possible!

  • +1

Paypal has confirmed that they've gone and award the claim in my favour as per my call with them last week but I don't see any pending refund on my Paypal account or any new entries on my Paypal activity/statement list. For those who have been confirmed by Paypal that they'll be issuing you a refund, where did you see your pending refund to confirm that it's in progress?

    • +2

I actually see it under Completed section :

      Roboguy +$404.00
      Refund - Completed

      • +2

        Same here for me.

        • thanks guys.
I don't see anything like that on my Paypal but when I called them up again, they did confirm that its definitely been processed. I'll give it til tomorrow morning and if there are no changes then I might just submit a CC dispute.

    • +1

Mine states that it was closed

BUT in Robaguys favor as at this stage based on the info provided they could not rule in my favor.
I also received an email (shortly after) stating the same:

      Case ID… has been closed
Thanks for your patience during our review of this case. Your seller has provided shipment tracking information in response to your claim. We used the shipping company's online tracking service and found that the item was delivered to you. As a result, this case has been closed in favour of your seller.

Obviously it was NOT delivered and when I look at the transaction details it states: "$470.00 was refunded on 7 July 2017 to…"
So I am holding my breath right now and wait for the money to re appear in my CC account- been told this could take up to 12 business days.

      • BlueDiesel, Impossible to be delivered. has not even left China Yet. Ahhh What the Hell is Going on with Paypal.

  • +4

Got my $470 back in the bank.

The vacuum I ordered from a far more reputable seller has been shipped and will arrive on Wednesday (have tracking). It was ordered on Saturday for $387 (10% code). http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182498928895

Happy this sorry saga is now finally over. Hopefully everyone here can have a good outcome as well.

I'll never order from RoboDud again and will be strongly advising everyone I know not to either.

    • +1

Yep i have ordered from that seller also and got mine delivered in 4 days.
It felt a little bit surreal to receive something so quickly after having been through this ridiculous saga.

      • +1

And also at a cheaper price!

Makes me feel really silly going through all the trouble with RoboScam when I could have gotten it at a cheaper price with a lot less hassle from a different seller and more importantly …… actually get the vacuum in my hand within 4 days!

        How good was that?!

As a parting gift, please leave your review of Roboguy, your opinions or warnings on the websites below. It'd be a shame to put others through the same ordeal that we had here.

    • I also just realised that in RoboDud's refund email (the generic one that is supposedly coming from him indicting that he's doing me a favour) the reason for the cancellation is 'Delivery Delay'.

So Paypal has basically determined the claim in my favour and acknowledging that the refund was due to delivery delay and not because the item was undelivered.

So it really shouldn't matter whether his tracking number is valid or not as that is irrelevant. The point of the matter is that we all ordered mid-May and the goods still haven't arrived after 2 months and there is an expectation by RoboDud that it will be delayed further into August.

DELAYED DELIVERY … that's the key.

  • Did a charge back today after calling paypal and they still refused to refund and look at that a few hours later they close my cause and refund me as well thank god

  • +2

CAn any one give here a paypal dispute case id, which resulted in successful refund?
If so, we could use that to call Paypal and ask why was not your case number given the same benefit?

    • Anyone out there willing to share successful case number from Paypal?

      • I got my refund today morning.

        • +1

          me too

    • +1

Agreed. If your case was already successful, help bone this piece of scum robotwat further by enabling others. If you've already received your refund, nothing to worry about.

  • +6

I think this definitely was worst OzB shopping experience so far.Full of lies.
Now I only need to get this delivered by end of July so that I can pass onto my elder relative and explained times of delay…really feel sorry for my relatives.

This Roboguy (singapore guy) seems no control of supply chain and don't know who he dealing with…. Chinese……and high demanding MI products.
Anyway, This will be first product I buy from Roboguy and also will be the last.

If you live in China, order from MI official website, it will be delivered NEXT day(I am not joking, NEXT Day)
Was in Shanghai earlier this year and ordered Redmi 4X for my father and placed order @8pm on that night and someone rang home bell 10AM next day with the mobile.

Roboguy, good "Luck" with your MI business…

    • MI = ME which would be about right with the way he carries on with his business

    • he is not singapore guy, his name is Izaak Lorenz, type his name on google and you will see this young bloke from albury

    • +2

  • Got my refund via paypal, still going to keep my CC chargeback active until its defiantly in my account but i am now happy to be rid of the roboscam

  • +1

Got the vacuum (from Shopping Square eBay) today! What a fantastic little unit. Not even 2 weeks… sorry Roboguy language… not even 10 BUSINESS DAYS from my purchase and it’s in my hands.

Good luck to those waiting. I hope it comes soon! It would still almost be quicker to buy it from eBay/elsewhere rather than wait for a ‘maybe’ 26 July…

  • +4

Sigh, this was supposed to be a birthday present for the 10th July. I was willing to wait a bit longer but it was a double blow to get a "shipping update" email ON the day I would have wanted to give this to my partner saying there was another delay. Ive finally raised a Paypal dispute but now it automatically escalates to a claim because they said the seller can't respond!

    • +2

The seller can't respond to PayPal? That really is not a good sign.

    • +1

Are you sure that phrase is accurate?

      • +2

Well I forgot the exact phrasing for it, I was reporting a problem and pressed submit and Paypal brought me to a page saying that because seller something along the lines of unable to respond that this dispute would escalate to a claim immediately. So I had to rephrase what I wrote from addressing the seller, to addressing paypal.

Got this in my mail after : Your Dispute Has Been Escalated to a Claim - Case no.PPxxx

        • +3

Perhaps too many disputes and BS from RoboCrap so might as well escalate to a claim.
Hopefully that means you will get your claim resolved quicker. I wish you well.

PayPal closed the claim in my favour on Sunday and I can confirm that I've received the money back on my credit card this morning.

        • +2

@jamchris: Thanks! I was originally going to wait for it and be a little annoyed, but after the amount of people pulling out, I can see no hope in getting any support for warranty if I go along with it. Hope there are still funds left for Paypal to extract!

      • +1

yes it was something along those lines.. I went through the same process yesterday.

        • +1

Have you heard from Paypal yet? I havent got any communication apart from the initial claim email. Wondering if I should call… as other people seem to have more success with it.

        • @kza2610:

Nothing yet.. I'm thinking I'll need to call as well.

  • +1

Any one Know how paypal Get there Money back from Sellers. I have not put in a Claim yet. But concerned that I wont get my Item from RoboGuy…with all the claims being settled from Paypal..Ahh

    • +1

If you paid by credit card. The card company just yanks it back with a charge back in simplistic terms. Not sure about bank transfers

      • duketing, Thanks :)

    • +1

When I spoke to roboguy on the phone, he said paypal were withholding his funds on the disputed orders…or something…

  • +3

Just going to put this here in case someone missed it, please leave your review of RoboGuy here:

    http://www.productreview.com.au/r/roboguy-1/1397847.html

    • +3

Ok, i did my part. Not sure how he may be able to do reputable business here.

      • great work, the review pretty visible now with 6 people contributing, showing up 5th in a google search for "roboguy", right after his own website.

    • +1

Did my part too. Looking back on what I wrote it seems pretty harsh but all factual. So my conscience is in the clear.

  • +1

    Have to call PayPal now!

    • Do it early and ask them to escalate to a claim than dispute. I got my money returned back into my CC today morning.

      • i escalated the dispute more then 1.5 months ago… paypal "specialist" keeps extending the date - now its hit august!!!

Paypal buyer protection - Yeah Right!!!

        • Yea just call up, tell them you won't wait that long and expect a full refund, then tell them if you don't receive a refund notification by 8am tomorrow morning you will call you bank to organise a charge back.

        • @omguleh: Yes treaten them with chargeback. When i used that word, he said that process would run 12 AM and i shall receive money back.

        • @Perumal:

they will no longer do refunds because the merchent has high amounts of dispute. after the close off date and mnerchent still has no shipment then they will refund.

          Very poor of Paypal

        • +1

          @chuneeperformance:

You need to be arguing. The "close off date" doesn't matter. If it is not received or even sent within the agreed timescale then you want a refund.

  • +2

Last login for Roboguy was at 10/07/2017, last post in this thread was on 29/06/2017. His looking but ignoring everyone :(

      • +5

Tell me about it, no longer will I confidently buy just because they offer paypal as an option. Paypal came through for me in the end but the effort I went through to get it was more than it should be.

      • +2

        Love it.

    • And how do we avoid his new vultures ventures in the future??! I'm sure he will try to offload the goods somewhere…

  • +1

    Hey everyone,

After my second attempt and taking a much more aggressive approach, paypal has decided to refund $399 in favour of yours truly.

I'd say just give them a call and be firm.

    • +1

Glad it resulted in your favour. But i am not sure why you should be hassled with your already existing tensions in life, as they are supposed to work for you as there is a clear winner here.

  • Phone calls so far:

8/7 "We will settle this dispute within 24 hours."

9/7 "No, the previous Paypal representative was incorrect, should have said 72 hours, so give us 48 more."

11/7 "We are requesting more information from the seller, if they do not provide it by the 12th of July we will settle the dispute in your favour."

13/7 "The seller did not respond to our request, so we will close the dispute in your favour and refund the money within 24-48 hours."

15/7 (highlights from a 30 minute phone call) "There is movement on the tracking number so we have given the seller until the 22nd to supply the item"
I pointed out that I no longer want the item as I purchased it from another seller, that over 2 months is well beyond any standard of reasonableness for delivery, and that it would be impossible for me to receive it by the 22nd as that is when it is scheduled to arrive in Melbourne and I am in Sydney.
I was told that none of that matters, because Paypal representatives are barred from closing any disputes related to this case until the 22nd. I pointed out that other disputes related to this item/seller had already been closed in the buyer's favour and asked why mine was being treated differently, and was told that they "cannot comment on other cases but that proper procedure is being followed."
When I asked why I had been given incorrect information 4 times in the past week she said "it doesn't matter what others told you, only what I am telling you." Siggghhhhhh.

17/7 So today: "If there is no update on the tracking number by the 22nd we can look at closing this case by the 31st of July."
I asked: "So wait, if the cargo ship arrives in Melbourne on the 22nd would that count as an 'update' even though it would still not have been posted to me at that point? And so you would still give the seller more time even after that?" She said that was correct. The only thing she was willing to do was to make a note on the case that I no longer wanted the item and would refuse delivery of it, but that doesn't seem like it will actually change anything.

I am so frustrated and upset that Paypal keep lying to me (or at the very least moving the goalposts.) Is there any other course of action open to me? I didn't pay with a credit card so can't do a chargeback. :(

    • +2

hey mate….I sympathise as I had similar experience over the phone. My only advice is to be firm about the refund and reference to the previous attendants making promises to you. I just had my case closed today so it's definitely possible!

    • +4

Call back, ask to speak to a supervisor.
Tell them you are not happy with this and you have no resolution.
You will be taking immediate action utilising a 'bank transfer clawback' (you don't need to be specific - you just need to emphasise this) tell them Paypal will be liable for all fees and penalties related to this transaction and you would like a reference number for all interactions so you can submit a case to the financial ombudsman for further investigation.

Tell them you used Paypal for ease of use and for scenarios exactly like the present situation - not to create headaches.
      Be firm, take no bullshit.
