Typo in the date, its meant to be 2081 not 2018.

        • +1

          omguleh,
Probably in his Terms and Conditions, which he changed

  • +3

So I was on Kogan's wiki page today, and thought something sounded all to familiar:

he travelled to China, where he took charge of the whole container load of TVs and personally inspected each one. Kogan watched the TVs get loaded onto the truck, got in a taxi and followed the truck driver to the port to make sure the container made it on to the vessel safely.

Maybe that was Roboguy's issue. He didn't follow the container on to the boat… :p

I'm pretty sure my courier must have got a flat tyre or something, it's getting dark and still no sign of my robovac…

    • BaryGusey,
Truck Jacked, took his entire load:) I wounder if it was even on that ship. Haven't herd boo since. Almost ready to file a paypal. Dispute. None Delivery of goods in a reasonable time frame. Reasonable would be 30 days from payment. Not 60+ I hope he never runs a Business, after this. He is not fit.

      • +4

Would it help if I sent a photo of my legs?

        • BaryGusey,
Only if they have Tyre marks :) Brake marks, and reverse up marks:)

      • +2

Almost ready to file a paypal

Just file it. You got nothing to lose.

  • +2

30 days from 30 days is now over with no further information. Do we have to add another 30 days?

    • +6

Yes. Yes you do. Its 30 days x 30 times :)

  • +3

For those who are still waiting for their vacuum and have not filed a claim with PayPal or otherwise, can I ask why are you still waiting?
I'm curious as to know what gives you the patience or is there any other reasons given that at this stage it seems like a fairly risky move to wait it out since someone has been holding on to you money for this long with no promises to deliver at this stage?

    • I'm waiting, purely because I have no urgent, pressing need for the product. It's also allegedly so very close now. If it was sitting on a dock for 30 days, I'd be cancelling, but it's only just landed and I'd feel silly to cancel it now. Any opportunity to not have to deal with PayPal is worth it.

      • +1

But what kind of after sales support are you expecting, based on the quality of communication and customer service pre-delivery?

His price is more than all the recent ebay deals also.

        • I cancelled and received a refund and then purchased from another provider. But if you look at Roboguy's pricing properly you will see it includes GST, making it $360 after claiming the tax (if you're registered for GST for example). After sales support is probably going to be not dissimilar to an ebay transaction post initial 14/30 day return window. Roboguy acted poorly with this transaction for whatever reason but that doesn't mean he will not honour warranties etc.. Just my opinion.

      • Or do the dispute and get it for cheaper:

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/320844

    • Because I too don't need it yet. I'm in no rush. If it had been delivered already, it would still be sitting in its box, unopened, and will still be there until mid-August.

So I couldn't care less if it hasn't arrived yet.

If it hasn't arrived by mid-August then I will buy a new one from another seller, and use my Paypal buyer protection (which will still be in effect) or even a credit card chargeback.

There's absolutely nothing at all to worry about, from my perspective.

  • +3

30 days i over give him a call and ask for your money as per the t&cs he can no longer refuse.

  • +4

No shipping update since the deceiving confirm delivery address email…

Hmmm. What are the chances I will get my item before 1/08/17 since the warranty starts on the 1/08/17 before my item arrives to me….

I was on your side up until the first revise date 17th of july~ geniunely believe somehow your cargo couldn't fit on a booked freight ship.

But again it looks like a broken promise. I think your issue here is over committing and optimitism~

You might see it as the world is against you but this is the real world.

Welcome to reality and plan something you could manage better next time. I will be contacting paypal on the 1st of August and if need be a CC chargeback.

Have a nice day if you even login to read this forum anymore…

    • +3

What are the odds that his shipment is stuck in Melbourne Customs?

      • +2

That was my thought also. Large load of items that contain quite large batteries, that upon inspection will be home appliances that are not manufactured to Australian standards.

Good luck all those still bothering to wait. :)

      • +1

        omguleh,
        Customs Duty

      • It did got stuck on Customs…apparently

  • +1

if you are still waiting, i think you have nobody to blame but yourself. there's been a way out for everyone for a while and you chose to not take that option. I saw this coming which is why I got out immediately when Roboguy posted BS excuse back in June

    • +1

Couldn't agree more. I'm really curious why they are still waiting??
I assume the hasn't been any communication from Roboscam since the last email a few weeks ago?

        Dear ************,

As we prepare for delivery of your order we would like to do a final check to make sure your delivery information is correct. Please let us know if the below shipping address is incorrect and needs changing.

        • +1

as per usual, he always makes his communication vague and open to interpretation. so where the hell is the vacuum currently and when do you expect to deliver it? you would think he would have learnt from past mistakes but no.

        • +1

          @djc926:
Never again :) I have had a Big Mistake. I hope Ozbargain bans him from here in the Future. From now on, I will trust no one.

        • +1

I must admit that the zero info since the confirm you address email, is starting to wear my patience thin. Now that they are in Australia, and as someone who laughably paid the extra for priority delivery I expected a tracking number pronto.

I am sure that there is another excuse for the delay, but ffs an email would not hurt. I wonder what he is doing with all the extra units from the cancelled orders, I also wonder if he has a cashflow problem and he cannot meet the customs costs.

        • @awaddell:
That is what I am thinking too, but I sent him off message today. Haven't had a response. Next step Paypal dispute will be filed tomorrow.

        • +2

@megod: this must be the new OzB meme

        • +2

          @megod:
Again, I don't get it. Why are you waiting? Apologies if I'm sounding a little abrupt, but I'm trying to understand why those people waiting are still waiting especially when he's not responding to any emails?
It's not like you can't get the same exact vacuum from a more reliable seller at a cheaper price and at a way faster delivery timeframe?
I got mine from gear bite nearly 3 weeks ago and have been using it since.

        • +1

          @jamchris:
No waiting Claim Submitted. Seller does not give a shit.

        • +6

@jamchris: I'm beginning to think I understand those people who get cat fished or are sending transfer payments to the lawyers of Nigerian Princes.

For me I had come this far and figured I should wait. I wish I had asked for a refund a month ago. Some people were saying instant paypal refund, others are saying they have spent weeks on getting it reversed. I am not the sort of person who feels comfortable asking for refunds or demanding rights. I am the sort of person people push in front of in a queue and says nothing.

Like the Nigerian prince each delivery window is not far off and then disappears. This is the last time, it should not take a week to get it since arriving in Australia. If it doesn't come today, or I am not sent a new bulldust promise and made to feel sorry for him again I will be getting a refund.

If I do get a refund I might not even get another robot, I don't want to be reminded of this episode.

        • +1

          @BaryGusey:
I don't think the Seller would have the money to send Item out Item…if it even exists. Girlfriend Got hers from gearbite ebay Australia. Got it in 5 Days from Australia. I am no longer waiting. We are too trusting.

        • +2

@BaryGusey: Yes, this is a situation where patience is not a virtue. Keep us updated.

        • +3

@megod: I think you are right. It is still within the paypal period of refund at least.

How #$&**ing hard is it to send an email and let us know it's here and a legitimate ETA?

        • +2

          @BaryGusey:
Exactly, I got this This Morning,
          Hello ***********,

You will be getting your delivery and tracking information soon.

          Kindest Regards,
          RoboGuy

This is worse than waiting to get a Tooth Pulled. Paypal dispute claim Submitted Last night "This item not received dispute has been escalated to a claim"

        • +2

          @megod:
this guy doesn't deserve any sympathy. how hard is it to specify the exact date rather than "soon"

        • +1

@megod: Not good enough, I'd be expecting a date at the very least. No email for me yet.

Later today I expect I will tentatively half fill in the claim dispute form before changing my mind. I will at the very least try and work out how to do it.

I don't know what I am meant to do now, these dust bunnies are approaching their third trimester and aren't going to vacuum themselves. Exponential growth imminent.

        • +1

@BaryGusey: Don't be turned off the robot vacuum just because of roboguy! I too was the same until I saw the offer from Gearbest and placed an order because the price was too good to resist (unfortunately that deal is over now) and I have to say, it was so worth it! Ordered on Friday, delivered on Tuesday. I'm sure once you get your refund, you can find another deal like this on eBay (keep an eye out for Aussie stock though)

      • -7

I am still waiting because I too don't need it yet. I'm in no rush. If it had been delivered already, it would still be sitting in its box, unopened, and would still be sitting there in the corner not even looked at until at least mid-August.

So I couldn't care less if it hasn't arrived yet.

If it hasn't arrived by mid-August then I will buy a new one from another seller, have it delivered in 3-4 days, and use my Paypal buyer protection (which will still be in effect) or even a credit card chargeback to get my original spend back. I'm not so skint that I even need to do the chargeback first.

There's absolutely nothing at all to worry about, from my perspective. I have zero need for either the vacuum or the money at this exact point in time.

I understand that other people have different priorities, but for me, this just so isn't on my radar. There are far more important things going on right now to worry about than some stupid toy I don't even need.

        • +5

I find it humorous that it's the furthest thing on your mind, yet here you are checking up on the thread. Your post says nothing more than you're getting played by an amateur, and you're okay with it.

Enjoy one of two things…either dealing with a dispute/chargeback well past your easiest option for doing it (e.g. now), or relying on Robotwat for the warranty should it eventually get delivered. There are cheaper, more reliable options at your fingertips.

        • +3

that is the most ridiculous justification of stupid decision I've ever read. lol
so you enjoy casually dropping 400 on stuff that you don't need. seek therapy lol

        • +3

          @djc926: Absolutely bizarre reasoning.

        • @djc926:
The last time I checked, nobody NEEDS a robot vacuum? It's a toy!
And calling me stupid? That's unfair, I didn't call you names. Just because I've got no need for this toy right now, so I'm happy to wait it out a bit longer, does not make me stupid. It just means I'm not getting all hot under the collar like so many people here.
I'm not saying that I'm guaranteed to get my vacuum, all I'm saying is that I'm in no rush. Truly, I'm not. That's it. I'm simply content to wait. Sure, chances are in 2-3 weeks time I will be buying from another seller and getting my Paypal refund, but until such time it's no big deal.
We all went into this knowing that it was a group buy, that it was one dude, not a big business, and you know what? Sometimes stuff happens. And that's okay.

It's totally fine for people who don't want to wait, to get a Paypal refund.
It's also totally fine for people who are happy to wait, to continue to do so, without being called names.

The fact that 6 people downvoted me simply for saying that I'm in no rush is just weird. That you all care so much. I couldn't care less if you guys are choosing to get Paypal refunds, so why are you so bothered by my decision not to?

        • +5

          @scubabe:
i said stupid decision lol i think you're the one hot under the collar. i have no reason to be hot under the collar since i saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship.
vacuum is not a toy. it's a home appliance. if you wanted a toy, maybe you could have got a remote control toy and save your money.
it just doesn't make any rational sense to not buy from elsewhere and pay 40-50 less and get it delivered earlier. but then you enjoy dropping 400 bucks on something you specifically don't need until mid august so… lol

        • +1

It's the extend to which you have tried to justify your position that seems ridiculous. Read your post again mate. You've separately indicated that:

          "dont need it yet."
          "I'm in no rush."
"would still be sitting in the box"
"would still be sitting there in the corner"
          "not even looked at"
"couldn't care less if it hasn't arrived"
"absolutely nothing at all to worry about"
"zero need for either the vacuum or the money"

Ok, you don't need it right now, we get that. Timing aside, where most people view this as foolish is because:

          1. It's significantly cheaper elsewhere.
          2. Seller has lied on multiple occasions, so the offered "warranty" is worthless.

Seller has breached their own advertised acceptable delivery timeframe, so perfectly within your right to elsewhere. If you choose not to, that is up to you, but there is more value elsewhere. I feel like setting up an Ebay store just to sell sh*t to Scubabe (won't matter if/when I actually deliver anything).

  • +5

Well I'm getting a refund now via PayPal since the seller still hadn't responded by the 27th

    • Ditto. Called up and closed.

      RIP to this sorry saga.

  • +4

The fact that he's not offered any compensation for those still waiting, nor regular responses suggests that he knows he can't recover his business from here so he's just doing the bare minimum before closing shop. Best case scenario you'll get the vacuum but no warranty.

    New email from RoboGuy:

    Dear XXX,

We have just received a phone call from our customs broker to alert us that customs still have our shipment on X-Ray hold. It was supposed to come off X-Ray hold yesterday or today so we had arranged to have your order picked up by our couriers this afternoon, however due to customs our courier has been rebooked for Monday.
We can’t wait to delivery your order, we will provide tracking details very soon.

    Kindest Regards,
    The RoboGuy Team

    • just got this email too. Not sure whether I should respond to him now that I'm waiting for the refund to appear on my credit card.

    • +1

Oh geez. I hate to say I predicted it but…

    • +3

What are the odds ey, delays after delays.

Yes there is nothing anyone can do to speed up a customs x-ray hold, but damnnnn the odds of that happening is pretty low to begin with. Luckily the dock don't charge extra holding fees.

Edit: Its up to a 72 hour delay but I've heard of stories from my broker where it can be held for over a week with no explanation from customs.

  • +4

AKA..RobUGuy reads every word of this thread but doesn't log in…
No coincidence that a less vague email came out…
And no apology, just putting blame elsewhere…

    • +2

I just noticed something else. Usually a customs xray hold is flagged by the ICS and the broker gets notified pretty much immediately to sort out the logistics and whatnot.

Assuming no delays with the cargo ship the notification would have been sent on arrival 22/07/17 or within hours after docking. The guy knew 6 days ago there will be additional delays but told no one!!!

  • +1

Just ask for a refund now if you hadn't FFS.
It's past his t&c's then go buy it for ~$360

  • +1

Yep pretty disappointing, on the plus side anyone with open claims is likely to see their deadlines come and close in their favour.

    What a farce!

  • +3

It wouldn't surprise me if it actually went to Sydney port on 25th which is why it is delayed. Why drop off in Melbourne if he is in NSW?

    • +2

Probably goes all around Australia since there would be containers for a bunch of different sellers, not just this guy.

      • +3

The vessel was landing Melbourne on 22nd and Sydney on 25th IIRC. PAYPAL had been told the tracking for Melbourne which is what everybody was working from.. But I suspect it would actually unload in Sydney?

        • +1

I mentioned that earlier in this thread too. Felt like it would be dropped at the Sydney dock since his address is in NSW.

        • +1

The tracking screen shot only showed an end destination for Melbourne. Unless he shows us the bill of Landing we have no way of knowing so it's all assumptions based on the info given.

        • +1

@unco: He is very near the border with Victoria. Almost equidistant between Sydney and Melbourne.

        • +2

          @PJC:

In which case I am talking rubbish.

  • +3

How come Paypal is still accepting payment for www.roboguy.com.au

    • +1

      Raybies,
      Good Question. ponzi scheme ?

  • +6

I got pretty screwed. Paypal is giving him to the 1st of August to respond. They keep extending the period. I threatened them with the charge back, they don't even care. I've already told roboguy that I purchased another one and asked for a refund several times and he keeps sending me updates saying it's on the way ignoring me. I don't usually like to resort to doing the wrong thing, but if this vacuum does arrive and I haven't recieved a refund I will be taking the vacuum out and sending a box full of crap that's of similar weight. He can deal with paypal like I have for the past 2 months. As long as I provide tracking it's his word against mine and given he has been flagged as a bad seller, I like my chances. I'm sick of this whole ordeal. My time isn't free.

    • why don't you just carry out the charge back + according to roboguy's t&c you should be able to cancel the transaction now for a full refund.

  • +4

I know it's a douche thing to do, but I'm so over trying to be reasonable with this guy.

    • +1

Can't you just do the chargeback now? Then don't accept delivery of the item if it arrives.

      • Spent so much time dealing with paypal. If he wants to he a douche at least I'll get a free vacuum for all the headaches.

    • +2
    • there's nothing douche about it. if you haven't disputed it yet you have been a saint about it.

  • +2

    Latest update

We have just received a phone call from our customs broker to alert us that customs still have our shipment on X-Ray hold. It was supposed to come off X-Ray hold yesterday or today so we had arranged to have your order picked up by our couriers this afternoon, however due to customs our courier has been rebooked for Monday.
We can’t wait to delivery your order, we will provide tracking details very soon.

    • +5

I suppose he sent that to all 4 remaining customers.

  • +6

Anybody can now officially email roboguy and demand a refund as per his T&C of 30 days over the due date.
He cannot refuse. And tell him that you won't accept delivery if he does post it to you.

    • Smashed, You are Correct. From Roboguys Terms and Conditions!
      Shipping and delivery

Products in stock are normally delivered within the number of working days shown on the Website. The expected delivery time for an order is set out in the order confirmation. In case of delay in delivery, we will inform you and continue to monitor the order. You may cancel the order if a delivery is delayed for more than 30 days and the delay is not due to you.

Depending on the delivery method you may be required to pick up the order at a specific delivery point. You are required to do so within the time specified in the notification of delivery. If you do not pick up the delivery in time you may be charged a fee and the order may be sent back to us at your expense. We may also cancel the order if the delivery is not picked up in time.

    • +1

      What if he refuse?

Paypal is useless, the seller didn't response, now they give themselves (Paypal) like 2 and a half week to review the case.

      • +1

Well you advise PayPal about him refusing to honour his own T&C and they should go ahead and refund you.

        • So I emailed him to cancel the order and ask for refund (as per T&C) before Paypal approved my refund today, so I do I need to tell him I don't want the cleaner and don't send me one?

        • +1

          @christythebest:

i think you provide him with the same amount of email messages he has provided you…

        • +1

          @christythebest:

I would be advising that you have requested a refund as per T&C and that you will simply refuse delivery if he ignores your email and instead sends a dispatch email.

        • @SBOB: HAHAHA you mean same amount of "useless" messages?
