Been checking out compression packing cubes and Amazon have these on sale at the moment. Seems to have some favourable reviews on Amazon so will give it a go. Note Anaconda have some Eagle Creek ones on sale too but only a 2 pack for a similar price. I would say Eagle Creek have the better warranty so best to check both and decide for yourselves.

Save another $1US to have this delivered to your nearest ParcelPoint pickup location.

Camelcamelcamel shows that the price has always been US$19.99, what sale are you referring to?

      jv? Is that you?

I must have been influenced by JV too much

Not Camelcamelcamel so can't provide you with an explanation. Go to the link and Amazon says its 60% off. Guess my bad for saying its a sale rather than a discount/price drop.

  • For a while I thought Gillard was back with the Gonski.

mmmm … I can pack stuff down small to fit without this but I can't make it lighter :(

What is this image trying to imply???

  • +1

    How does this actually "compress"?

    • +3

Each compression cube has a built in flux capacitor which is good for 100psi, providing a 10:1 compression ratio. Also, a secondary feature using the zip compression method.

      They don't. Misleading name.

You put clothes in it, zip it closed, then squash the thing down (compressing the clothes) and use a second zipper around the outside to keep it thin. It's sort of like those vacuum bags only manual. An alternative would be to use large ziplock bags.

  • No WinRAR.

  • i have a large packing cube, it has wheels and some people refer to it as a suitcase or wheelie bag, amongst others.

it works by filling it with crap, zipping it mostly up, then jamming more crap in it.

though, i can imagine these would be useful for organisation of stuff (i.e. easier to repack all the cubes after taking out a shirt from one bag, then it is to repack a suitcase after digging in and pulling a shirt out. but anyway…
