  • Anyone ordered and received order confirmation email yet?

    • Nope, no contact whatsoever from Optus since the initial automated email after placing the order. I did just receive a text from my current provider about port request, hopefully Optus will contact me soon.

      I've received a confirmation email. However when I downloaded the contract from the link they supplied it showed the cost without the 25% discount! Just got off the phone with them (30+mins!) and they tell me that I will receive another email showing my discount. That seems really weird. Please check your contracts! Anyone in the same boat?

        Yeah I just received my contract as well. There is a 25% discount option in the contract but like you it seems it wasn't added to the cost of the contract. With the "second" email did you request for the amendment, or is it automated and everyone should receive it?

      • I also have this issue with my contract. Tried calling during lunch break but couldn't wait any longer. Anyone got this sorted yet?

      • I'm currently going through this process now. They too sent a contract AT $100PM and I have spent a good 45 minutes being bounced around the building as I try to get them to understand that I need to see the discount is applied within the contract, not after I get my bill. Pretty much saying that's not how contracts work.

      • So, I was also in the same boat this morning. Placed order on Tuesday night (16th May) and received the temporary order email. As of this morning I still had not heard anything so decided to give Optus a call regarding the order. Live chat hand-balled me to another sales department (#1300 929 949). They basically said that the order had been confirmed and provided me with a tracking number. Literally as I put the phone down I had a knock at the door - it was startrack with my S8.

        The bloke on the phone did mention that the 25% discount had been applied, but I am starting to worry a little as I have not had anything else in writing (apart from the automatic email after the order was placed). Oh well, hopefully everything works out.

        • I was just assured by a rep that the discount will apply upon the first billing cycle. They understood my concern about not seeing it applied within the contract and said it was a system issue, or something to that effect.

        • Wow that's fast. I've had no update today. Just is been sent to the warehouse.

        • I went in store - they said that the contract is just the standard contract for the standard offering with no bonus or discount. The guy said it will show on the bill.

  • My contact expired on May 16th. Got a phone call today saying no to this deal, and pretty much no to anything else not currently advertised.

  • I just got my first bill and it didn't include the 25% discount! Anyone else in the same boat? Am I missing something? Do I need to contact optus?

    • Might come off the 2nd bill & subsequent bills. See some of the comments here in the latter pages.

    • Yes. I remember the t and c's said something about the second bill. Ive questioned the first bill. They said that whole amount, 103.95, will be refunded at end of contract. Can anyone confirm this?
