Waiting for this to come down to $995 before I pull the trigger

    • Well that's completely clueless.

    • +1

      used to be called Goldstar

and now, LG (Lucky-Goldstar) Corporation. What's your point?

  • On a more serious note, is there much content available in the near future to make full use of UHD with Active HDR?

    • +2

Broadcast TV? No. 4K is starting to hit online content now (Netflix, youtube, etc) and HDR will fully hit the masses early next year. It's really still early adopter technology - It'll be had for much cheaper in 4-5 years when it's a bit more fleshed out.

  • +1

    Jaw dropping price too

  • On a serious note probably worth waiting for the new Sony A1 bravia OLED as that has some insane features (speakers built into glass etc)

    • sounds like the LG OLED first generation speakers

      • Nah its the first of its kind, the speaker is the glass panel itself. There are no actual speakers visible on the screen at all!

        • great no bass!

        • @andy2: ahh there's actually a bass built into the rear stand. Press seem to have been giving the sound quality alot of praise so Yeh maybe worth checking out if any of u are looking to buy an OLED

    • I don't get why high-end TVs have built-in speakers. Cut it out and focus on PQ.

  • +2

    20yrs warranty?

    • +1

Absolutely right - if you're paying this much, warranty should be more than minimum, 1 year. Warranty implies product quality (regardless of features and technologies). Obviously LG doesn't think it's made any better than their least expensive sets.

  • I guess this means the 77" version will be $25K

  • +11

Good that humans have two kidneys :-P

    • +1

I already sold mine to keep me in KFC nuggets.

      • +1

He didn't necessarily recommend you use your kidney.

  • Nah, I'll pass. It's too small for me :D

  • +2

3.85mm thin, good thing installation is included because I would not want to touch a TV that thin!

    • nvm, apparently it is flexible…

  • +10

The tv that fat shames other TVs.

  • +1

I'm waiting for the thinner model.

    • +2

      Same with me.

My gf has a long way to go……

Wait what are we talking about

      • +5

If your gf reads that post this TV isn't the only thing you won't be getting :D

  • +1

Waiting for the Sony A1E OLED to be released here in Australia.

  • Gorgeous

  • +3

I've no intention of buying this TV but if I spent most nights watching films then it'd be an amazing device to do it with. Thanks for posting titanus.

  • Sigh. Even when not considering this TV, (i assume) thanks to 4K, OLED tv are getting more expensive, not cheaper. A 4mm thick tv sounds nice and all… but I dunno, sounds like to would break easy. Ever seen a painting or poster catch a strong breeze and come down off the wall. Even if it was bolted in place, can image the forces involved on a tv that big that thin…

  • Will this fit in my ferrari 458 ?

    • It's flexible so i assume yes

    • +1

No, just tried, had to go back with my Lamborghini aventador.

      • On that note, I saw an Aventador driving through Sydney CBD on the weekend and the sound it made was unlike anything I have heard before - what a beast.

    • +1

Going to try to fit it in my maserati, just as soon as it gets towed off the beach.

  • +2

gona buy 3 for my triple monitor setup. thanks op

    • +1

Hope harvey norman don't limit how many you can buy because im looking to get 12 to make a feature wall using tvs.

  • This is a bargain site right? I don't plan to spend this much on my next car.

  • Gimmick

  • +1

oh good that the delivery is free, else too expensive.

  • OP, are you actually buying it?

  • It is interesting to see people who can afford this much for a TV and still have time surfing OZbargain :)

    • The rich dont get richer by just spending and spending.

  • I'm waiting on the new CES2017 announced Sony A1E before I buy something…
