      Paid about $17.50 a few weeks ago… so better price here.
      Hasn't arrived yet so can't vouch for quality.

      I'm going to use it for travel mostly so not worried about all the insurance implications.
      Means I can unplug a lamp in a hotel room then plug this and the lamp back in…

      it's a chinese site. you can set the currency to be shown as any currency. it charges as a foreign currency. only use a foreign buying friendly cards like citibank debit or 28 degrees

      Some cards will apply fees regardless of currency if the transactions are being sent overseas.

    The problem with buying these and wall chargers from overseas is that they are not locally approved.

    God forbid if something was to happen, you can bet your bottom dollar that the insurance companies will try and use this as a way out.

    When going overseas I normally just take a local one with one adatper for the powerpoint.

      Isn't that just as dangerous as using a Xiaomi power strip here? Your local one isn't approved for use overseas.

      Point being, not being approved doesn't mean it's dangerous. Millions of tourists plug their chargers in to Australian hotel sockets every year, and hotels aren't burning down.

      They can't. They are legal to plug in and use. I posted all the details in a previous deal. Why do people keep spreading bullshit everytime this is posted? The constant scare campaigns from the government, retailers and other groups is working.

      It's pretty simple except for those who have downvoted my comments because they are so ignorant of the law.

      It's LEGAL to use electrical appliances that you have imported from overseas and no electrical compliance certificate is required if the appliance is a personal import. Insurance companies do not have anything in their PDS (again how many people have read this and I bet the ignorant ones have not) about what electrical products you use, if it is legal to plug into our electricity network it is covered by insurance.

      What causes the majority of electrical fires? Old appliances with damaged insulation so do insurance companies have anything in their PDS to say you can't use appliances over x years old? Nope. Again READ your PDS, this tells you what you are covered for. Contact your states electrical safety agency who are responsible for what is plugged into our electricity network and ask them if it's ok to plug in electrical appliances that you have imported and the answer will be yes.

      Is it really worth the risk over a $16 power device. There is probably a clause in the home insurance saying that fires caused by non Australian approved power devices are excluded from the insurance. You're better off buying a good power board locally and know then that your home insurance company can't use it as an excuse.

        No there isn't, you can use any product you want that you imported yourself with no issues and I posted all the details in one of the previous listings for this board.

        You're better off buying a good power board locally and know then that your home insurance company can't use it as an excuse.

        You mean the lower quality products that are utter rubbish despite costing many times what this costs?

        You know that these products are legal, you were involved in the last discussions but it seems you prefer to spread FUD. If you doubt what I have written by all means call your states electrical safety agency to confirm.

    I have 2 of these and I feel they are way better quality than the crap you can buy at Bunnings. It has been mentioned before these are quite well built with good separation between the power points and the USB ports.

    I'm away OS at the moment it has been excellent as it also supports EU Plugs and the USB ports all deliver good charge.

      I think anything out of China is better than the locally sourced crap that manages to become Australian approved. Loose plugs, melting busbars and I've has two break in halfwhen I pulled a plug out.

    Looks great for travelling since I can get rid of the double adaptor plus USB charges that I usually have to carry.

    Just to clarify, can it do quick charge on all 3 USB ports?

      It's not a QC (Qualcomm Quick Charge) standard but they all are rated at 2A so it will charge quicker than a Standard iPhone Charger for instance. I've charged iphones, iPads, android phones and tablets on it just fine.

      Yes and no. Yes on an individual port but not all at the same time. This is good for overnight charging but take a quick charger if you want to do quick topups or better yet carry multiple power banks with you so you can charge on the go. If you keep one in your backpack with a 1 to 2m cable attached you can keep charging when it's in your pocket or being used.

      Cables attached to Australian power plugs that protrude downwards (from the ground pin side) would get in the way of each other with the 3x2 configuration of the six Chinese sockets on the Mijia model. DC power adapters designed to be plugged straight into a power outlet will almost certainly block the use of the socket adjacent to it on the other row. Having two of the 3x1 power strips instead will not be subject to that same risk (or waste).

    I got one of these last time they were posted here.. Honestly, they are cheap and nasty and certainly don't come close to meeting AU safety stnds for 240v. Heck, it even says in the txt above only for 220v max. I'm surprised by that even. I fully expected mine to go up in smoke the moment I plugged it in. Power lead is the wrong gauge for 240v 10A, AU plug doesn't have the spark protection insulation, and that tiny little plasticy On/Off switch, Far out! Safer just going to Bunnings and spending the same on a proper 240v rated board.
    Just my 2c.. but don't let me stop you getting an instant perm.

      It's not an AU plug and the insulated pins area not fit sparks but for safety and the power switch is actually very robust.

          The discussion was on the build and in particular it's claimed inability to handle 230V. The insulated pins is well known and not an issue as are the additional openings so it can take euro and us plugs.

      Yes the main plug is AU and it takes AU, US and UK plugs. US and UK are 2 pin only (no ground pin) while the AU sockets have 3 pins.

      China plugs and AU are the same only theirs is upside down (from an Aussie's perspective of course)

      So when you plug it in the wall, the fit is perfect though the cable will be coming out of the top rather than down the bottom.

    I have 3 of them. Quality is Xiaomi awesomeness. Never had a problem with the switch that pauliau mentioned. Mine is always on. All those 2 pin USA and UK plugs fit great. Much better than those horrible pin adapters the chinese ebay folks send with products. It may or may not meet 'for public sale' standards within Australia, however its miles better than any other foreign pin adapter I have ever used.

        This has USB too. If you're only getting it for USB, there are other solutions even smaller without the plugs, and can give even more ports.

        3 plugs is never enough for me. You could buy 2x 3 plug boards but that would require two wall sockets.

        The 6 board is exactly double the size of the 3 board. There's no extra added bulk not to scale. So yeah obviously a 6 port board is going to be bulkier than a 3 port board.
