  • Nice price! Content is getting better but still quite limited, but I'd you wanna experience the future and already have a PS4, go ahead!

  • +1

Good price but from what I've read, they're just a gimmick so far. I got suckered in with the Wii so won;t fall for it again! I'm waiting until the platform matures before buying personally.

    • The HTC Vive is real room scale compared to PSVR and is not a gimmick.

      • What's real room scale?

        • +1

Presume it means you can use your entire body in a larger area. The psvr has limited tracking so you have to stay 'quite' stationery.

        • @Bobby123:

Thats it. Basically you can turn around, walk away, get on your knees and interact with something.

You can barely do that in oculus, let alone PSVR.

        • @samfisher5986: Cant think of any situation where that would be practical at home.

        • -1

          @Jamie007:

          A spare room?

Depends if you have a house or apartment really.

      • I was talking about the PSVR, not PC lol. Obviously, #pcmasterrace…

      • Before you take on HTC Vive please hand out A$2000+ for your PC to meet the requirements…

        • Maybe if you buy an Alienware PC…

You can get a VR ready machine for $900-1000

        • @samfisher5986: if you opt for minimum requirement… also HTC Vive itself is another 1K…

        • @dlovep:

          Not minimum requirement at all.

        • @samfisher5986: Maybe list out your spec for us ?

    • +1

Can't really compare the processing power of a PS4 vs a Wii though..
      8GB RAM v 2GB RAM
      8 Core CPU v 3 Core CPU
      1152 Shaders v 320 Shaders
      1.84 TFLOPS v 0.352 TFLOPS

      • it was pretty hyped at the time, sold out, waiting lists etc. not too dissimilar to the psVR hype.

    • The platform matures? Ew. Regardless, video games are for kids. Nothing wrong with gimmicks.

  • Silly question but I haven't bought from eBay in years, do Big W allow you to buy online and pick up in store?

    • +1

no click & collect option available, but it coms with free shipping

    Cheers OP!

  • Good price if you want this now.

    • I'll hold off until a second gen comes out.

      • Your call champ.

I am happy enjoying VR every chance I get :D

        • Have you tried any racing games on it? I'm sceptical of first gen tech.

        • @Sergeant Salami:

Yes but i get motion sick. I avoid that.

But - if i was into it - its awesome, you have to experience it to know what i mean, wont bother trying to explain how awesome it is. i swear on my son its next gen stuff, hard to explain.

but what i have enjoyed is

          RE7
          Rush of blood
          battle zone is surprisingly addictive
Rez infinite (the only 1080p, 120hz game on VR ATM) and i have limited physical too

          what im looking forward to

          FF15 VR
          The persistance
          korix
          Farpoint
          Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Plus i enjoy a 300 inch screen when playing games such as Persona 5

Plus i enjoy watching 3d bluray movies in 3d

        • @chingy213:

I'm a racing sim nut. I love Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, F1, Dirt and Drive Club. I had iRacing but was costing too much. I'm hanging for GT Sport and Project Cars 2. The IT tech in me hates first gen stuff. They normally have design flaws and then in second + gens they fix them and add killer features. I'm dying to try racing out in VR. Friends have said they get sick because your mind is thinking you're moving but your body is stationary.

  • Waiting for google standalone vr.

    • PS VR will always be king.

  • +1

I want VR for racing games but it looks like PSVR will be a limited experience. GT Sport will only feature certain cars and tracks.

    • DriveClub has a VR game already (and it's on sale at the moment for $25 on the PlayStation Store)
And Dirt Rally VR as well

    • GT has really fallen off, its really about Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon for those type of sim/ arcade racing games.

      • Hmm I loved Forza but it felt much more of a arcade racer. Also does Xbox have any plans for VR?

        • Apparently Xbox does have one coming soon, but i believe its under Microsoft's Windows version, with HoloLens.

Motorsport is the "sim" series, Horizon is basically the arcade open world answer.

Recently they released the Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels expansion game.

  • As a stand alone add on ps4 mid gen upgrade system, i kind of respect what they're doing. I could say it isn't worth it, or that its overpriced, and all of that, or that its a lesser clone thing without the compelling software of the Wii, but honestly, i dont entirely believe that! And gamer geek culture types online shouldnt either. Because there is fun to be had. Sure it isn't worth it to some, and alot of sony ips are interactive movies with little gameplay, but this could change that for the better, making it a bit more like Nintendo, Xbox…

I dig the idea, its still somewhat out of the box, even if its just the Wii and its peripherals, and Wii U gamepad type stuff in a headset with Sony wiimotes. Im sure the same silly gamers, ps "fans" and console wars will defend it despite writing off the hall of fame Wii and its great catalogue of fun for everyone games! Same gamer types that wrote off the Kinnect despite the cool games it got too! I like this PSVR concept, and i hope it does well! Gamers i think need to get over the console wars with this one, even if the ps /internet gamer minority fanbase is hypocritical.

Its partly being used to sell dusty move controllers and to pump up the shipped numbers of the "ps4 line" of different mid gen systems. But i still think it has some underrated merit. Good luck to it!
