    Why is it "under 31's" ?

    • +1

      Anyone who's a fulltime Student or U/31 mate. We have a Student contract with Etihad Airways.

      • Do you have a contract to supply under 31 ones as well? Do you have to be a virgin?

        • Whole business idea is to be like unidays, uni students get a discount, while other young people can for 20bucks membership (or something like that).

          Ofcourse others can get normal pricing.

  • How is this not agist?

    We have sexism, racism, religitism (I made this word up), surely this is ageism

    I'm a 32 year old student

    • +1

      Sorry mate should've mentioned. Anyone who's a fulltime Student or U/31 can grab these fares.

      • how exactly are do they verify if your under 31? I'm 32 and I've been looking all day for direct flights to Europe. Would have been perfect without the restriction :(

        • Usually they require a student ID, I had to provide it for an STA booking.

        • +1

          How do Etihad verify it? The date of birth on your passport mate. You don't have to be u/31 for me to help you though, just flick me an email. Direct flights to Europe don't exactly exist just yet, aeroplanes don't have the range. Qantas are just about to release a direct flight from Perth to London though. Finding you a flight with a short transit shouldn't be a problem. And I can beat most prices easily enough.

        • @Harls27: cool! Dropped you an email. Cheers

  • Any good returns deals 20/6 LON -> TSV & 31/8 TSV - LON?

    • I can definitely have a good look for you Luke. Just flick me an email mate!

          • @Harls27: Sorry, I don't support businesses that discriminate…

            If you're going to charge a 30yo less than a 31yo, that is plain wrong

          • +2

            @Harls27: @jv: well, then you're going to have to stop flying altogether - it's the airlines that publish age-restricted fares so they can be sold through youth/student-oriented outlets like Student Flights and STA.

          • +4

            @Harls27: @jv:
            Correct me if I'm wrong but no ones born over 31yrs of age mate. We're all under 31 at some point. No discrimination there.
            Buses and Trains give Student fares. They give senior/pensioner fares as well.

            I don't make the rules here.

          • @Harls27: @Harls27:

            No discrimination there

            Age discrimination is against the law.

            Hahaha i'm not going to argue over this jv.

            Go to Sizzlers mate kids under 12 eat free, are you against that too?

          • @Harls27: @Harls27:

            kids under 12 eat free, are you against that too?

            this is not a kids deal, you are basically saying someone aged 31 has to pay more than someone aged 30, that is age discrimination

          • +2

            @Harls27: @jv:

            A child who's 13 has to pay at sizzlers, but a child who's 12 doesn't.

            An elderly person who's 65 pays full price fares, an elderly person who's 66 is a pensioner, so they don't.

            Again, mate, these are airline contracts that have been created. You're chatting to the wrong bloke.

          • @Harls27: @Harls27:

            A child who's 13 has to pay at sizzlers, but a child who's 12 doesn't.

            Perhaps you should familiarise yourself with what is and isn't allowed for age discrimination.

            you can provide discounted services for aged pensioners and children…

            Can LGBT U/31's get these tickets too? Because the owners of Etihad can punish homosexuality by death…

      • Depends what you're after really. Flick me an email with your plans and I'll see what I can do.

    • Departure cities etc?

        • +1

          Departing Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville, Rockhampton etc.

          So it's the same price from Perth as it is from Melbourne?

          • -1

            @spackbace: Depends on availability and things like that. Perth is generally marginally cheaper.

            Best to flick me an email for specifics mate

          • +1

            @spackbace: @Harls27:

            No, it's best to advertise specifics.

          • -1

            @spackbace: @Spackbace:

            Certain travel dates as specified. From $689. Meaning $689 is the starting point. Not sure you know how airfares work. You can't advertise specifics with airfares mate cause they continually change based on fluctuating availability, taxes, currency exchange etc. If someone is after certain airfares, they email me their specific dates and departure location, and I check the best available for them at that time. Make sense?
            You ever seen McDonalds advertise their nutrition information? Doesn't happen. Specifics.

          • +2

            @spackbace: @Harls27:

            But McDonald's tells me I'm getting a mcfeast meal for $5 at certain times.

            They don't advertise 'some burger' for 'possibly somewhere around this price' at 'some time'.

            Specifics.

            If you can't provide the travel route for those cheapest prices, then this is just an ad.

          • @spackbace: @Harls27:

            For $689 where are we departing?
            Is it exactly $689 or is there change?

          • -2

            @spackbace: @Spackbace:

            Now you're just exaggerating.

            For $689.00 you can depart from either Bne, Syd, Adl, Mel, Per etc. To said destinations in Europe. Between said dates. On Etihad. With short transit/s. If the availability is there.

            Just like the ad says.

            The travel route is right there. There's no point in me telling you it's available on a specific date, because the availability on that date could be sold by the time I hold a seat for you.

            I'm wasting my time here. If you'd like to travel. Flick me an email. If not, That's okay too.

          • @spackbace: @Harls27:

            It clearly is possible to advertise specifics cause other travel agents/sites who come on this site are easily able to do it

            Example - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/258698

    • Norwegian has oslo to bnk for 127 Euro then bnk to Aus Around $260 or Athens to Aus with scoot for $3xx on sale

    • Looking traveling to Europe at the beginning of July and airfares to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur are just ridiculously high for some reason.

      • +1

        Start of July is the start of nsw school holidays. That's why prices are thru the roof.

      • beginning of July….school hols

      • Try checking later than the 5th July mate, you might have some luck. Uni starts back the end of July as well, exactly when the European summer finishes, it's expensive to return then too.

    • +1

      Norwegian air is flying Stockholm to Bangkok for 116 GBP (one way price)

    • Deals for ADL?

      • Oh yeah i forgot old Adelaide! Surrrrreeee do!

    • Can you tell us what dates and locations you used to get those example prices?

      • I've got the travel dates for each price up there mate.

        July 5 - Sep 26 $779
        Sep 26 - Nov 22 $689
        Nov 23 - Dec 1 $749
        Dec 1 - Dec 14 $909

        Departure location really doesn't differ the price by too much. All of Australia's major cities share very similar pricing.

        • I'm curious how you came to those exact prices and what cities/dates you searched for to get them.

          • @henrus: These prices are released to me by Airlines mate, we have certain contracts with airlines not available to the public. I don't set the dates/prices, the airlines do, and then release them to us.

            e.g. 15th July BNE - LON I have $809.
            15th July BNE - LON Etihad Website has $1286.

          • +2

            @henrus: @Harls27:
            I am getting $605 using Skyscanner - Virgin
            But good price for Etihad…

          • @henrus: @dasher86: Yeah mate, they're part of the VA/VS Round the World Sale. Going Aus-LAX-LON? Or Australia - Hong Kong - London?

            Usually an 8-12 hour transit in LAX for those ones. The great part about those are you can actually stopover in America and then Add on a London - Australia sector and turn them into a really cheap rtw fare! They had those same ones rtw in business class for $3500 last month too, ridiculous!

          • +1

            @henrus: @Harls27: Yup, got onto these business class tickets and off to see the world in September/October. Couldn't pass up business class tickets that were that cheap.

          • @henrus: @try2bhelpful: Oh nice one mate, You'd be stoked! I was thinking about it so hard haha. Hopefully next time!

          • @henrus: @Harls27: Read it on Ozbargain - went to the travel agent that day, had it booked the next. Never flown business class before - fly flat seats, here we come. The only slight bummer is Melbourne doesn't seem to have a Virgin airlines lounge we can use when we are flying to Hong Kong. Not so much an issue as that is first leg but still a bit sad.

          • @henrus: @try2bhelpful: Yeah they've only got the VA lounge there in the domestic airport mate aye! Bit of a shame!

    • There are some repositioning cruises that move ships from Europe to Australia - might be worth investigating in conjunction with a one way air ticket.

    • I guess the exact same prices last year as well?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/309119

      • That post was just last month… Making this post a dupe

  • Whats with all the hate for the OP?? He's offering/advertising a genuinely good price on a full service carrier and some of you are like a pack of wolves in attack mode. OP can I ask, if I book through you an Etihad flight either to LHR or ATH can you book it into a fare bucket that would be upgradable using EY Guest miles, as I know these super cheap prices are usually booked in a non upgradeable fare basis.

    • +1

      Hey mate, appreciate the backup haha. Let me doublecheck this for you. Will get back shortly.
