    • i think i might have got the last one. it says thank you. So it'll go to my email/phone?

      • yes it sgould goto ur email

    • What's the deal with registering? Do you have to do so before using the QR codes? If you don't, aren't you just handing them marketing information?

Fair enough if you're handing on tickets and letting people take over that code though. (Hmm… these codes are 7 digits right? A script to register every combination wouldn't be too hard to write…. Nah, forget evil thought…)

      • ur just giving them an email. can just use a throw away email and fake name

    • Thanks dabell. 767364(7) now taken.

      • I tried a few and I think it is all taken again… :(

        • Yes. When I realised it was a single ticket and not a double I quickly went back in to get one for the better half and I think they're all gone from this batch.

        • @FuzzyWombat: Wolves hovering around the 'refresh' button. lol

  • Any code for Perth?

    Thanks

  • 2 tickets for Sydney please if anyone wants to give away. Thank you

FYI: None of the codes posted in this thread are valid for tickets to GFWS

Anyone who turns up with one of those codes will more than likely be turned away by the show staff & security.

    • +1

As in the ones dabell is posting or if people used the car brand name to get tickets?

    • Can a Mod confirm this user is legit?

      • Google tells me there is a Jeremy Cade who works at Lup as a Senior Software Engineer. Whether or not this user is legit or not though, i have no idea.

    • troll

        • A post on your twitter regarding the invalid GFWS ticket would be sufficient.

        • "professional trouble maker"

          @LupJeremyCade:
alright mate, get off ya high horse, you're still getting paid no matter how many people get free tickets.
if i have any issues getting in be calling your mobile non stop
          http://www.jeremycade.com/about/

ps good work at hiding your details in your silly twitter photo…. a google search isn't hard.

    • Sorry please elaborate…

    • WOW~who are you? and how the staff could differentiate what's ticket is what's…

      • you know they could just manually mark the codes posted here as invalid

        • pretty sad if they do…

        • Is that what you witnessed hokage from the future?

      • Most probably if LupJeremyCade got one of the codes that was handed out by dabell he could determine other codes that dabell registered using the same IP.

    • QR codes or the promo codes?

    • +5

Anyone who turns up with one of those codes will more than likely be turned away by the show staff & security.

No surprise here, a poorly implemented ticketing system and instead of fixing the system they instead penalise the end uses who will no doubt spread the word of how they were turned away and the end result of the bad PR that follows will be less people going to the event and it's eventual demise.

What occurred could have been predicted by a three year old, it's not like social media and the spreading of information is a new phenomenon.

No surprise here, a poorly implemented ticketing system

I'm still waiting on someone to write a script to register every unregistered ticket. There are only 7 digits, equivalent to 10 million legal values, after all.

Edit: to be clear, I have no intention of doing so.

        • I'm still waiting on someone to write a script to register every unregistered ticket. There are only 7 digits, equivalent to 10 million legal values, after all.

That's the problem when you don't secure the codes.

      • No surprise here, a poorly implemented ticketing system and instead of fixing the system

Serious Question: How would you fix it?

        • +1

I found checksum is the last digit…1 million qr code…haha
and very easy to generate all the codes… then registered it… then other user can't use it anymore…haha

        • +4

Serious Question: How would you fix it?

There are many ways like a few that I've seen

          • Sending unique codes out to be passed onto customers and this can be combined with both a per code limit and a group limitation.
          • Requiring each generic code to use a secondary authentication method like a partial card, membership number or email address which can be authenticated against the organisation issuing.
          • Detect the source of the traffic and block traffic from sites like this.
          • Combinations of the above or other methods.

Whilst it's not always easy it's also not hard to secure codes properly without affecting customers.

Turning people away IMO is only going to work against you. Securing the coupons is the only way.

        • @Maverick-au:

Doesn't cost you extra to use a 64 bit number as an identifier. Your promo codes shouldn't be trivially guessable

        • @Maverick-au:

Also their check qr code logic is in the JavaScript so basically you can generate all the codes valid…

        • +2

          @Maverick-au:

Jeremy Cade who works at Lup as a Senior Software Engineer

Mate.. You're doing his job for him.. Should let LUP know about this, collect his paycheck while you're at it.

  • Went last year. Not bad if you like trawling through crowds for tiny pieces of cheese and sips of wine.

Still have to pay for a reasonable meal though.

Go early if you want to find a park.

    • any proper food samples or just cheese/wine?
