Why would you Jtag it? I saw online that Microsoft bans any Jtag console for life and refuses to fix any RRoD problems if your xbox is Jtagged

@fuzor: My 360 has been (drive) modded for years. If it does RROD, who cares, their so cheap now days to replace anyway.
What is JTAG?
If you have to ask…it's out of your depth.
It stands for Joint Test Action Group; it's just a standard for accessing, debugging & modifying the firmware of certain embedded chips without external access ports! As a side effect it allows modification of Xbox firmware for the usual nefarious purposes by connecting to a few solder pads on the console mainboard! :)

It is near impossible to find an arcade which can be jtag these days. Dont bother.
Can anyone do me a favour? When you go to buy your arcade, please check if they have any elite bundles left.
You can't make a phone call? Different stores will have different levels of stock. Last I heard, they were selling the elite bundles for under $200.
WHen I bought my elite for $227, the marked price was different from the price in the system. I'm worried about the staff I call just checks in the system and does not bother to look at the price tag.
The Preston store had about 5 Elites left when I picked up one last Friday. Price matched it to $227 (from Highpoint store) but there was no problems with getting the price match.

In NSW, I have seen a few HN around Sydney got heaps of elites left.

I have seen at least 20 of them at Bondi Junction HN last week and heaps of arcade.
What colour would you guys choose if they were the same specs and same price? White or Black/Pro or Elite.

I went the Arcade as a second xbox so I could share a HDD with my elite. Otherwise I would have to transport saves with memory card or some other nonsense.

dont worry about jtag, it's just a special hack which is not possible for new xboxes. You can play backup games with any xbox (of cos if it's modded). But I encourage you to play legit games, you pay for what is worth. You can also get banned from xbox live if your xbox is modded.

I'm surprised that with these things that are so publically posted that xbox doesn't come up with an update and just fix the issue
i think their fix is to ban modded xboxes from xbox live, make a new xbox which was supposed to be unhackable and stop manufacturing old xboxes. However, xbox 360 S is hackable now.
I haven't heard anyone got banned with the LT firmware, but let's see.
For anyone who is interested in JTAG. EBgames Melbourne Central has a few pre-owned xbox 360 with 20G for $186. They must be old, so more chance they can be jtagged. I think you can also check the manufacture date or even test it before you buy.
