Mi6 looks really sick. No B28, warranty etc. of course and I'd be tempted to wait for the OP5 but my wife's on a Mi5 and it hasn't missed a beat.

Just bought my sister a Mi5. An absolute pain to unlock/root etc but damn, that is one excellent phone all-round for $300! Would recommend to anyone who can handle a root.

The clones can handle a root ;)

I've heard of families like yours

it is a huge plain to flash rom, even with special cables that suppose to by pass hardware locks man.

When did people start calling step sons as wife's son

  • Happy with my Mi6 so far, although still wating for global rom to be released.

No 3.5mm jack on Mi6. I refuse to support manufacturers who think they know whats good for me.

    • The video on the same page shows a usb type c to 3.5mm jack adapter in the box.

Then how do I charge AND listen to music/make handsfree calls at the same time?

        • Fair enough!

        • @nahkk:

I was hoping you would reply by mentioning "With a (courageous) bluetooth headphone"

@starbearer: To which I would've replied, "well what about my high-end corded headphones which I've already bought" :-)

I agree, I've never forgiven them for getting rid of Betamax

      • Showing your age dude.

  • This is a part of GeekBuying's 5th Anniversary Sale. There will be more flash sales which people might find good and that can be viewed here

  • So other than the additional space and more ram. Is this any better than a redmi note 3 pro? Seems similar for more

They improved the audio (speakers) and there is a weaker processor on board. However it's significantly more power efficient. They also added double tap to wake

Camera sensor also got a downgrade on paper but now takes better looking photos in all aspects.

    • Which are you talking about? The note 4 or the Mi6?

      • both actually

        • +2

The Mi6 has a far superior processor than either of the redmi phones.

The note 4 is not really worth getting over the 3.

        • @brentsbits: superior at number crunching yes but for some people rationing battery life whilst smoothly running a 1080p screen is far more important than the numbers game. that being said there are differences with things like support for video codecs and probably new LTE/4G tweaks

        • @etherspin:

With QC3.0 training battery life and less of an issue really

  • has the prices gone up already? its showing AUD 240.63 for Redmi Note 4

    • They tend to be flash sales that last a couple days generally. So it wouldn't surprise me if that's the case.

  • This or wait for OnePlus 5?

    • This will be cheaper, the one plus phones haven't been as cheap since the OnePlus one.

Also you can just keep waiting, there will always be a new phone to wait for :-)

All I can say is that I've had a Redmi Note 3 Pro for a bit over a year and have loved it. Upgrading to the Mi5s Plus. Xiaomi make a good phone
