Good price. But I'm looking for this Sirui:
    http://www.cameralane.com.au/sirui-t-025x-carbon-fibre-tripo…

    Could you offer better price?

  • Hi Op,
Can this hold weight of a Nikon D800 with 70-200 attached?

    • Hi :) how many Kg's in total?

    • -3

obviously this rep knows NOTHING about tripod. She will just compare the load capacity of this tripod to your equipment weight and she doesnt even bother checking the weight of D800 and 70-200. A short answer to your question is yes! you shouldnt have any problem. i have D800+70200, each weighing approx 2kg.

      • +4

Isn't it better to ask first?

  • its 6 kilo+/-

    • +1

Yes, no worries then. It'll easily handle that, plus you'll have a couple of kilos to spare!

      • great thanks

        • And the whole thing weighs just 1.3kg too, so it's probably the easiest to carry, and the strongest travel tripod you'll ever enjoy having.

One really lovely customer the other week remarked about one of our Sirui items, and I quote:

'AMAZING, my goodness am I impress with the build and the product'.

I hope you'll have the same feeling :)

      • -1

I call BS. The tripod is only rated for 6kg, so nothing to spare from the questioner's 6kg rating.

Tripod ratings only tell you what it will hold, not what it is stable with, and there is a big difference for a heavy rig. The 025 has 5 leg sections with a minimum tube diameter of just 10mm, so I could pretty much guarantee that it would not be very stable with a 6kg with the legs fully extended. The small 10X ball head would also struggle to hold that weight if the camera was angled up or down.

I have a Sirui N2204X + K20X head and it is nice and stable with my Canon 70D + 100-400L ii (total weight about 2.5kg), but my previous 5 section lightweight tripod with smaller ball could not handle it. The N2204X is bigger at 46cm (vs 34cm) and heavier at 1.5kg (vs 1kg), but it had 4 sections (vs 5) and the minimum diameter is about 16mm from memory, so it is MUCH more solid and more suited to a heavy rig. The 20X also has a large ball and is more stable and locks better than a 10X.

The T-025X is a great little travel tripod for mirrorless or lighter weight DSLR with kit lens (or small prime or zoom), but probably not the best for a heavy rig unless it used with only 3 or 4 sections extended (low) and the camera is kept nice and level, and in nice stable (no wind conditions).

        • Are you 100% sure? Because it says 8kg in the dealer product manual in front of me printed by Sirui.

        • @Andy01: Wrong product Andy :) This deal is for our Sirui ET-1004 Kit and Sirui specifies 8Kg load for this one. You sound really into photography, and appreciative of the technical aspects, maybe you'll like some of the more heavy duty ones Sirui makes. Did you see our deal for the P-324S Monopod which was nearly $250 under B&H's deal for the same thing?

(please note: B&H's doesn't come with the Australian 6 year warranty, and ours are delivered to most places in a few days, not weeks)

        • @sellingoutsoon:

Happy to be corrected but I believe that zond may have been referring to the T-025X that your referred to in the post immediately above his/hers.

The Et-1004 is a larger tripod (although not carbon fibre) and only 4 sections, and may be more suited (might still be marginal) to a heavy rig. I would have doubts that the 10X ball head would hold that rig at an angle. It is a lightweight travel tripod, not well suited to a heavier FF camera and heavy zoom lens.

        • @Andy01: Just check out the specs on the deal for each, we take care to ensure they're accurate. It's OK, anyone can make a mistake, and we're not arguing anything. Except that Sirui is at that moment in time where the price is not as high as the quality you get. Cheers ::)

        • @sellingoutsoon:

Cool. I would suggest to anyone with more than a basic lightweight rig, to read some reviews by real photographers and do some research - the one common thread with ALL tripod and ball head manufacturers is that there is NO standard for load ratings and 99% of of them are completely optimistic and based on a simple dead-vertical static load test which bears little resemblance to use in the real world. Even reputable manufacturers will rate a small 25mm ball head as capable of handling 25kg, which is rubbish - it would be likely to slip / move with a DSLR and 200mm f4 zoom. Any review will verify this.

I love my Sirui tripod and would recommend Sirui to anyone, but it is well worth checking that the model is actually suited to the intended end use.

        • @Andy01: Yes, I think what I'm getting from what you're saying is not to overload this. Most people aren't hefting heavy glass (although some are!) and just want something good for an even better price…Yay for OzBargain! But you're definitely right about the real world implications of leverage. Best to go for something over-specced than under, I'd say. Hope that helps :)

  • +1

Got the monopod from the last deal today.
    Haven't opened it yet.

    • Awesome :) if you have time to open it, can you share with us all what you think of the build quality?

      • +1

I have a sirui gimbal head and the quality of that is stunning… So if that's anything to go by the monopod should be good as well.

        • Thanks, you're right, I was fishing there….because the quality is really something else for those who aren't familiar with Sirui, and it's always better coming from someone who just bought one of Selling Out Soon's Sirui items, than reps saying it :)

Has anyone else here experienced Sirui first hand?

  • Hi Rep,

I know people are asking about SIRUI T-025X but would you have any deals for T-1204X or T-024X. Also if there is a group buy maybe people would consider these instead ?

    Cheers

    • Yes, possibly…please PM me ASAP, because very low stock on Sirui T-1204X Tripod with or without K-10X Ballhead and once gone, they won't come in again until (at least) late July.

  • Pretty sure this is just a slightly different and re-branded version of a tripod I got for $54 off ebay. Will edit in link

    • No, sorry, Sirui is a major brand sold worldwide by the world's largest camera vendors and generally loved to death by photo nerds everywhere. See the endless positive reviews on Youtube. You've probably bought a copy of our original product. See above for what buyers of our products have said.

      • I actually got this for best offer of 44.99
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Professional-Tripod-for-Digit…

Rather pay 44.99 for a clone that works just as well than your "discounted price" …

        • Yeah, not sure what to say really…

          1. You do know that you've bought an Aluminium (not great) copy, not a Carbon Fibre one, don't you?
          2. What does everybody else here think?
        • @sellingoutsoon: I am aware of what I bought. There are corbon fiber versions on ebay for $100ish.

As for what everyone else says about the product.. that means nothing..
As the saying goes "an item is worth only as much as you are willing to pay for it"

        • +3

@Originality: Not trying to argue with you, or anyone. This deal is the best price available for a well-regarded professional branded product, not for the cheapest price of a fake item or one without a brand. As you know, different brands of cars, TVs, and Cameras vary in price too.

Typically you get what you pay for, but what's different here (and why people like OzBargain) is because they are getting what people are happy to pay daily $245.89 to $309.11 delivered for just $178 (up to $131 lower!) and they get authorised Australian product, with an Australian 6 year warranty.

So this deal is for people who share those values, wanting the best for the lowest price.

Again not arguing, just clarifying this deal. Cheers mate.

        • +1

@Originality: Each to their own. I buy the one proportionate (10% in my case) to my camera and lenses cost.

  • STOCK UPDATE

Thanks for your super-fast ordering guys!

    • If you're thinking about it but haven't done it yet, be quick as there are only a few left.
    • When it sells out the code won't work, so someone please let me know if the code stops working due to stock depletion so I can update the deal
  • Can anyone tell me if this would be a good all around tripod for travelling with? I originally wanted the T-005RX model.

    • +2

Yes it is made specifically for Travel, and is made from forged Aluminium Alloy, strong and light too.

If you really want Carbon Fibre, the T-025X is Sirui's biggest selling item in Australia

Must use code CLICKY-15 to save nearly $51

      How to enter coupon codes

We already PM'd most of you who asked early enough and they're now all sold out except one, who's getting it?

      • Be quick though, there's only 1 left, as of writing this right now, and 7 people asked…so first in best dressed….good luck!

      Enter coupon code: CLICKY-15

    • Depends on your camera setup. If it is a lighter weight rig (mirrorless or entry level DSLR with kit lens), then yes, but a heavier rig, or large zoom, it is likely to be unstable. 10mm aluminium tube (on the one you were looking at, not the one listed here) is just not rigid enough for a heavy (or even mid-weight) rig.

      • Not saying you're wrong, but, again, are you 100% sure that information applies to this product? Because Sirui quotes a minimum tube diameter of 16mm, not 10mm

        • I was looking at the T-005X model (as mentioned by Yellownight above) - 5 section, min. 10mm

          http://www.sirui.com/sirui-t-0x-series.html

The original model ET-1004 you posted is 16mm (aluminium), and the T-025x you subsequently mentioned is also 10mm, but CF.

          http://www.sirui.com/sirui-et-series-tripod-kit.html

Did I get that wrong as well ?

        • @Andy01: As I say, I'm not here to argue with you or anyone. Specs are as listed because the information is from the specs given to us by Sirui for the deal but I see how you made the error, as there was talk of the other unit, which is nearly sold out, only one left so again, it's OK if you made a mistake. No worries.

          The other one: Sirui's T-025X

About getting nearly $51 off the Sirui T-025X using coupon code: CLICKY-15 there was a bit of a rush to the site and I've since heard reports that the code wasn't working for some people on some browsers. I'm told that if you have trouble with a code applying, please pay by Paypal, and then enter the code at the last moment before you complete and it should work (the code will stop working if the deal ends or sells out, whichever happens first)

Currently, amazingly there is still one left: (http://sellingoutsoon.com.au/sirui-t-025x-carbon-fibre-tripo…) - get nearly $51 off with coupon code: CLICKY-15

          Cheers guys

  • +1

think i just bought the last one for the carbon fibre!

    • Yes you did, congratulations on a great choice!

Last Minute Buyers, you can still get:

  • Do you have any carbon travel tripods without heads?

    • Yes, T-024X is a winner

      • Only 2 left. Sent you a PM, thanks. Customer Care will contact you shortly.

  • Good News Everybody

Apologies if that sounded a bit Futurama-drama, but our warehouse monkeys have found another few of our brand new gorgeous Carbon Fibre Monsters ready to ship using the Coupon Code on sellingoutsoon.com.au to save nearly $51…so for those who've missed out….go for it.
