[PS4] Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - $20 When Trading in ANY 2 PS4/XB1/Switch Games @ EB Games

1210

[PS4] Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - $20 when you trade in ANY 2 PS4/XB1/Switch games (used or new)

I've gone through eBay to find the best way to do it and come up with these options below.

Methods:

(1) Trade in 2 worthless PS4/XB1/Switch games you or someone has lying around (ideal).

(2) Purchase These 2 PS4 games for $5.99ea Delivered then trade them in once they arrive, you'll outlay $11.98 & receive Crash Bandicoot for $20, total cost = $31.98 for Crash Bandicoot. $18 less than the $50 special at BigW/J. Proceed at your own risk: While the promo is valid until after the day of release - EB might pull the promo early or change the terms if it gets too popular. 2/7: Since this promo ends in less than a week, I've removed this option.

(3) Purchase 2 preowned games in an EB store, however most stores appear to be around the $7 mark upwards, meaning it will cost you more than the previous method and cheap stock will probably diminish as the promo goes on, however this method is risk free (worst case wasted time). Also be discreet and polite using this method, buying 2 games and then trading them in immediately might raise some eyebrows. You can call EB 13 number if any issues.

(4) Thanks to Schumi5, purchase cheap games click & collect at your local Cash Converters. With a bit of luck they'll be cheaper or the same as the eBay option and you'll be able to do it sooner than waiting for eBay items to be posted.

Finer Details:

Went through the EB tweet to save you looking for any catches. Copy pasted the obvious questions and answers below:

Q: Is this during the pre-order period or on the day of release?
A: EB Games Australia ‏Verified account "Both! :)"

Q: Can they be the same titles?
A: EB Games Australia ‏Verified account "They can be the same titles as long as they are Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox One games in working condition"

Q: Any titles??
A: EB Games Australia ‏Verified account "ANY TITLES!!!"

Q: How long is the offer valid for? :)
A: This one will be valid up until after release, nothing confirmed just yet.
A2: Confirmed as running until 9th of July.

The game must be an Australian version.

This is an in store promo.

General Details from user:

EB is currently running a deal where if you trade any two PS4, Xbox One, or Switch games you get Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy for $20. What I think a lot of people don't realise is you could buy the cheapest Xbox One, PS4, or switch game EB/JB/Big W/Target offer and still be eligible for the deal. For example: NBA 2K14 for $7, Watch_Dogs for $7.50 - then trade them towards Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy $20 deal the total you would end up paying would be $34.50 So a good deal if you are willing to do the leg work I'm sure there are plenty of cheap PS4 and Xbox One games people could purchase to be eligible for this trade in.

    • Did you price match the cheapest price or something? Trials and DriveClub are both pretty damn cheap, can't imagine they paid over 50 for the pair, since their price for Crash is 70, I believe.

  • Pretty good deal. Bought Watch Dogs game for $7 and traded it in.

grabbed a couple of $5 games from cash converters, free pickup. might be worth checking your state for a store in your area.

Parkdale in Victoria in particular had quite a number of titles available at $5

    • Shit, you're right. My local had Watch Dogs and an NBA or something for 5 bucks, among others.

Oh well, live and learn. Might not still have them anyways.

  • I just put two pre-orders in, can confirm you can do multiple preorders for one person.

Also guy in store said it was only PS4 games, is he wrong?

    • +1

Yes he is wrong. Xbox one is fine. Also Switch but that is just silly

  • +1

Went to EB Games today. Bought Watch Dogs ($7.50), then NBA14K ($7) traded them in. Old mate at the counter said he would just Price Match Big W for $39 if I wanted. I then let him know it is cheaper the way we were going by $4.50. I think that would be a star on my Ozbargain membership card.

    • +1

The $39 at Big W was confirmed to be a price error, they've changed the price on their online catalogue to $49 now.

  • Just went into eb and they said it's only available on the day of release?

Was hoping to give the games and pay the pre order now as not in Aus on the 30th and don't get back until August, anyone managed to trade in the games already?

    • +1

Yep. Traded in 2 cheap games and paid 20 dollars today. Just need to pick it up on the 30th.

      • Mnn think I'll be going in again tomorrow then!

    • I clearly seen a flyer out the front today stating till the 9/7/17

      http://press-start.com.au/bargains/2017/06/20/eb-games-crash…

    • bit late here but it sounds like the guy got confused by the vague end date for the deal which simple says "after release"

also you should make sure the EB is ok with holding the preorder until you get back, i dont have the receipts on me but with JB or EBs said 48 hours, no idea how strictly they enforce it but yeah

  • I just needed one more game to trade and got PS4 Fifa 14 used for $6 at JB Sunshine haha

Got to trade that and PS4 NBA 2K14 for the deal at EB Caroline Springs - Just pay $20 on the day of release. Can confirm you can trade ANY PS4/XB1/Switch games for the deal!

    Thanks OP :)

  • +1

Remember that cash converters is also an option. If your local one has an old fifa game in store, then you can purchase that for $5. There are other games too, so its worth a look

  • Traded in a copy of FIFA 14 i bought for trade bait and my copy of Far Cry 4 that depreciated so badly like most Ubisoft games do, cheers, saw this before the email from EB

  • -1

2x $20 hifi cards gotten from purkle for surveys… 0$

Driving to jb hifi amd the girl happily matching the price in the bigw catalogue (manager approved despite other girl at counter banging on about it must be an error) $2 in petrol.

Not giving eb a sale despite it being cheap. Priceless.

    • '2 bucks petrol' true bargain cruncher right here!

  • I thought I had 2 Xbox games to trade but had forgotten I'd given one away so took in my spare copy of guitar hero but no dice without the guitar controller so wasn't worth it as the kids need the extra controller. I have tearaway unfolded which came bundled with the PS4 so will take that in instead.

    • What? They refused to accept Guitar Hero because it needed to come with a guitar?

      • Yes said it had to be bundled with the guitar wouldn't accept just the game.

        • Okay, this makes me worried they wont accept Singstar in OPs post because they might say that you need to also trade in a phone too.

Cab anyone here confirm if you can successfully trade in two copies of Singstar for a Crash preorder at EB?

        • +1

@Orpheus: They are fine with Singstar (though I only have 1 copy). However, the lady couldn't quite get the price down to $20 in the system despite following the procedure documented. I decided not to go ahead with it.

If the deal is going to be available after the game is available, I'd probably wait till then.

Two stores I tried. Both stores wanted games in sell-able condition (i.e. proper case, with cover paper).

        • @netsurfer: Thanks. I ended up trading both singstars with no problem. Guy didnt even bother opening up the cases to see if the disc was inside lol.

    • Not tearaway, thats actually a good game :'( Are you located in Melbourne? -Ill swap you battlefront for it haha

  • +1

Just trade in FIFA 14 and NBA 2K14 (which I'd purchased for $7 last night from a different store) and got the deal no problems.
I just some hope they I don't get an inkling to play two 4 year old sports games soon. Wouldn't I look like the fool! :P

  • +1

Anyone else get an email from the seller in regards to this deal?

  • +2

If you live near a CEX, just grab copies of Fifa 14/15. $4 each and the one in Belconnen had over 5 copies of each. Dude was ecstatic to be getting rid of them and the guy at the EB counter just laughed and said well it does say ANY games. $28 total cost

  • I traded in Destiny (base game) & ESO, the eb games store guy said I would of got less that $5 for these usually. Can't complain haha

  • +6

    Thanks for this post guys.

Went to my local jb and found they were selling fifi 14 for $1 so was perfect for this deal

  • +1

I just traded in my copy of FIFA 14 and killzone and got $4.50 each before rectifying it for the promotion (man at the counter didn't even know the promotion despite the big as sign at the front of the store).

  • +3

Just asked their facebook page and they confirmed the deal will be available until 1 week after release!!

  • My Singstars arrived today from the original eBay peep. Heading in to tradecity tomorrow!~ :D

  • Thanks. Purchased FIFA 14 and NBA 14 for 15 dollars from JB. HAappy with 35 :)

  • Went to my local cash converter get nba2k14 for 3.50 (originally $5, discount 30%) then got fifa for $6 in jbhifi.
Traded in for crash bandicoot and paid $20
    So total cost $29.50.
It's written in my receipt $49.95
So, what if you don't like the game and decided to return it?
    *wink wink
Will we get 49.95 in store credit?

  • does anyone if the deal ends today? thanks

  • I wonder if you can do the deal with no games in stock and then ask for a phone call when they receive new stock?
Does this offer end July 7th?

    • This is what I did today.

    • I did this as well. The attendant was more than happy. I asked if he could get it posted to me though (happy to pay extra) but no dice.

  • +1

I Actually Paid $13 for this game. The EB guy took the cost of my 2 traded games (Which is $7) off the $20 lol. I dunno what he's thinking. haha.

  • $11 worth of games traded in, $31 in total, very happy. Plenty of people in line doing the same thing.

  • Any word on if this will still be available tomorrow? I'm going to struggle to get to an EB today.

    **

Asked them on facebook, yes it will still be going.

    • Staff member told someone on the phone it would run over the weekend as I was paying.

  • Can anyone confirm if you get the preorder bonuses?

  • I went in a got my copy today, still can't believe this deal. I traded 6 games that are pretty much worthless and got it for nothing plus $20 credit.

For the people asking about expiry, I got an email from EB with the disclaimer for this deal
*EB TRADE POLICY APPLIES. 2 GAMES REFERS TO ANY PS4, XBOX ONE OR SWITCH GAMES. MUST BE IN RESALABLE CONDITION. CANNOT BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER OFFER. TRADE CREDIT COVERS OFFER AND IS NOT TRANSFERABLE. LIMIT ONE PER CUSTOMER. Must end 9/7/2017.

  • Cheers. Go 2x fifa14 $6 each at jbhifi. So $32 all up. Bargain!

  • +5

Just went and picked this up today and worked perfectly, thanks Hamza :) The attendant at EB said I was the first person in the store to take advantage of the deal…Everyone was paying $69.95 before me. He was confused when I traded in 2 identical unopened copies of singstar lol.

  • Went into EB today and took advantage of this deal - just grabbed the cheapest 2 i could find from the preowned pile and he just put thru the cheaper of the 2 twice for me! Sub $30 crash sorted!

The EB guy thought the deal had ended but goes until end of this week i believe - i am not quite sure what they gain from this if they allow you to just buy there games then give them back?

Cant wait to get home from work and play it.

  • Thank you so much. I went into EB yesterday and asked the staff if I could still buy two games and buy crash for $20 they said yes. So I bought NBA 2k14 for $7.50 and Watchdogs for $7 and they asked if I wanted to trade them in straight away, I said yes and got Crash for $34.50! Thanks a lot!

  • I just went into local EB and bought 2xNBA 2k14 (PS4) for $14, then exchanged and paid the $20 to bring the total to $34.

I figured this was easier than trying to find a cheaper game at a pawnbroker - they can't reject a game that they've just sold. There were 3 games on the exclusion list though.

My biggest issue is it seems that EB has sold out of Crash, so waiting for 2nd shipment.

    • There were 3 games on the exclusion list though

Do you know what games they were?

My biggest issue is it seems that EB has sold out of Crash, so waiting for 2nd shipment.

Every store in the area I live in has run dry of the game - JB, EB, Big W and so on. The power of Nostalgia at its greatest.

      • I can't remember, the salesman told me over the phone. They didn't appear to be any of the cheaper games available at EB.

  • Traded Fifa 14 and Destiny in at Rhodes and paid $17 if anyone is going there..

  • anyone know if any store in Brisbane has any stock? thx

  • Just traded in Destiny and FIFA16 at EB Kotara. They're out of stock though so will call you when they get a new shipment. He said you need to rock up within 48 hours of the phonecall though which I found a little odd… Oh well.

Target at the same Westfield had heaps of stock at $49 for anyone desperate though.

    • No, they were all gone by Saturday.

      • My bad, I swear they had them at Target but perhaps it was just the display cases?

        • +1

That they were. I want to burn those things. Too many people just assume we must have it since the box is on show.

        • @McGregor:
Do you work in the gaming section? I bought Ratchet and Clank at your store on release day and the sales guy said "thank GOD someone finally turned up to buy this awesome game". Was that you?? =p

        • +1

          @HereBobButtons:
Yeah, I do but I don't recall saying that about that game. Although I'm not surprised someone did haha

    • +1

I did my trade in today at Jesmond, they were out of stock as well but did not specify any 48 hour limit for pick up, just said to come in whenever……… (I paid the $20 upfront if that made any difference)

anyway, for those in Newcastle, EB Charlestown had plenty of $7 games ie FIFA 14, Jesmond also had a few $15 games with the 1/2 price sticker on it, so grab some while you can.

      • I got the call from EB Kotara today (Monday), it's in stock. I asked if I could come on Thursday during late night shopping as I'm at work during the week and will struggle to get there by 5.30pm. But she re-iterated the 48 hour thing and said she couldn't promise me it wouldn't be sold to someone else… wtf!?

Thankfully she could put it down as layby which apparently guarantees the hold in my name… Even though I've already paid the full balance…

        Meh.

        • +1

actually I just got that "48 hours" call too, I told them that 1) it was not mentioned when I placed the order 2) I will be working in Sydney until Thursday 3) I have already paid in full so what difference does it make when I pick it up?

apparently that dude will check with his manager and call me back, let's see how that goes

        • @FW190: Totally agree with you. I don't understand how they "can't promise they won't sell it"… They've already sold it. We've paid for it…

Anyways, I'm going to try get there right before close tonight.

Btw, if it helps, ask them it put it down as a layby, that's what they did for me when I said I can't get there until Thursday.

        • @HereBobButtons:

just got the call, all good, they will hold it until closing time on Thursday

anyway, enjoy the game if you are picking it up today :)

  • Looks like they only me charged me $10 after the trade in.

    Cheap crash!

    Thanks OP
