[PS4] Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - $20 When Trading in ANY 2 PS4/XB1/Switch Games @ EB Games

1210

[PS4] Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - $20 when you trade in ANY 2 PS4/XB1/Switch games (used or new)

I've gone through eBay to find the best way to do it and come up with these options below.

Methods:

(1) Trade in 2 worthless PS4/XB1/Switch games you or someone has lying around (ideal).

(2) Purchase These 2 PS4 games for $5.99ea Delivered then trade them in once they arrive, you'll outlay $11.98 & receive Crash Bandicoot for $20, total cost = $31.98 for Crash Bandicoot. $18 less than the $50 special at BigW/J. Proceed at your own risk: While the promo is valid until after the day of release - EB might pull the promo early or change the terms if it gets too popular. 2/7: Since this promo ends in less than a week, I've removed this option.

(3) Purchase 2 preowned games in an EB store, however most stores appear to be around the $7 mark upwards, meaning it will cost you more than the previous method and cheap stock will probably diminish as the promo goes on, however this method is risk free (worst case wasted time). Also be discreet and polite using this method, buying 2 games and then trading them in immediately might raise some eyebrows. You can call EB 13 number if any issues.

(4) Thanks to Schumi5, purchase cheap games click & collect at your local Cash Converters. With a bit of luck they'll be cheaper or the same as the eBay option and you'll be able to do it sooner than waiting for eBay items to be posted.

Finer Details:

Went through the EB tweet to save you looking for any catches. Copy pasted the obvious questions and answers below:

Q: Is this during the pre-order period or on the day of release?
A: EB Games Australia ‏Verified account "Both! :)"

Q: Can they be the same titles?
A: EB Games Australia ‏Verified account "They can be the same titles as long as they are Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox One games in working condition"

Q: Any titles??
A: EB Games Australia ‏Verified account "ANY TITLES!!!"

Q: How long is the offer valid for? :)
A: This one will be valid up until after release, nothing confirmed just yet.
A2: Confirmed as running until 9th of July.

The game must be an Australian version.

This is an in store promo.

General Details from user:

EB is currently running a deal where if you trade any two PS4, Xbox One, or Switch games you get Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy for $20. What I think a lot of people don't realise is you could buy the cheapest Xbox One, PS4, or switch game EB/JB/Big W/Target offer and still be eligible for the deal. For example: NBA 2K14 for $7, Watch_Dogs for $7.50 - then trade them towards Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy $20 deal the total you would end up paying would be $34.50 So a good deal if you are willing to do the leg work I'm sure there are plenty of cheap PS4 and Xbox One games people could purchase to be eligible for this trade in.

    So the trade bait returns…

    Where's suicine94?

  • Good deal hamza, think I'm gonna get this just for the nostalgia and get some use of my PS4 again.

  • this is an awesome deal…. i got the email the other day and thought it was an error

  • +1

cool I have Destiny and Order 1886 at home probably worth nothing.

  • Did this today but could only find titanfalls for $7.50 each

  • +1

More information on EB Games' Facebook as well

    • Where?

I can't see any more information on there.

  • +1

Got to wonder if SingStar would get here in time, might get (profanity) on and left with 2 copies of that game you don't want otherwise.

Got this email a day or two back as well and my first thought was "What's Destiny go for these days, that seems like a good thing to pick up twice and dump" too.

Hope it does come on time, because I've got 3 suckers coming to me now (for that price, I'll keep one for a laugh with the missus)

Cheers Hamza, first you brought me pizza, then you brought me SingStar, and soon you will bring me Crash. You are a beautiful soul.

  • +1

Laughed at this on their Facebook page, though actually a good deal now that I think about it.

    • +4

I saw it in store today and brushed it off, but now that Big W has sneakily pulled their $39 deal, I'm reconsidering.

      • When did they pull it? In there catalogue it says $39. I received this yesterday.

Edit: Yeah, seems to be a retraction on it.

  • Try to find the $2 skylanders games with no portals to get it at the cheapest possible

  • If I cancel my order with JB, do I get my deposit back?

    • Yes

    • -6

You'll have to pay a withdraw fee to get your deposit back

      • do you know how much it is?

        • -3

Can't tell if you're serious or not. But any who it was a joke

        • +4

@ireadtermsofuse: …..If you have aspirations of being a comedian, please don't quit your day job.

  • +2

My Watch Dog game has some value after all.

    • Games with th Gold this month. Download the digital version and sell the physical copy :D unless you're on PS4… so, no games with gold for you… :(

      • No Gold for me.

Doesn't matter, played Watch Dogs for 30 minites, hated it.

    • This is one I will be trading in!

  • does this have to be preordered online or can i go in stall?

    • +1

Pretty sure this deal is in store only since you have to trade in the games, you can't do it online.

    • +5

yes u can go in the bathroom stall and they give u the game for free

      • +1

After making payment through the glory hole.

  • EB have a few new games for $4 currently, I scored Destiny PS4 version for $4 in store. Makes it even cheaper if your local store has em in stock.

    • +1

Traded in my copy of destiny that was still sealed. He said usually they would only give me $1 for it

  • -1

Hmm, sounds too good to be true. Is there any possible way EB can refuse your two games or pull this offer early? I don't want to be stuck with 2 copies of SingStar.

    • +8

i don't want to be stuck with two copies of singstar

      Yeah you do

  • went to EB today and did the deal. Salesperson said i was the only person that had done the deal which i found hard to believe.

You can also trade more than two games. I ended up trading four crap games and paid total $5 for Crash :)

    • What were they

      • Um Two PS4 games were Destiny and The Crew, then two crap wii u games

  • do i trade in 2 singstar games?

  • +10

Whoever is selling those sing star will be 😏😏😏

    • +8

      Probably OP 🤔🤔😉

  • lol

  • Does it say anything about games without their casing?

    • Usually they just charge you a fee of a buck, I believe. Though given this is a special deal, you may get (profanity) on.

    • Updated: Successfully traded in Order 1886 and Killzone without cases for the $20 trade in deal. Looks like as long as it's a working game, all good.

      • Which store? I went to the CBD store and they refused to accept mine without cases.

  • +1

So any games can be traded? Anyone tried with project spark on xbone?

  • Listing for the Singstar game has ended lol

  • +7

The face of the EB guy when I buy cheapest two Xbox or PS4 preowned games tomorrow and then trade them back in is going to be priceless.

  • yeah i think you need a case it does say in the eb trade agreement that games have to be in sellable condition

just digging though my collection i still have a copy of watchdogs 1 and will prob either trade that and my farcry 4 copy too or pick up new copy of destiny or nba2k for $4 in store, i wonder how much i would get for farcry 4 on its own.

    • My guess would be 7 or 10 for FC4

  • +1

So what's the cheapest preowned games on EB I can buy?
edit: 2 x Singstar it is for $11.98 should be here by 27th. If I get dicked with 2 copies of singstar I'm going to hand in my OzBargain card for life

There are some $4 games on EB but availability is so limited it's not worth bothering about

In other news Singstar sales have skyrocketed

  • +1

Wait, so there's actually a use for my copy of Fifa 14? Wow.

  • Finally can get rid of FF Type 0 HD. No buyers for that on Gumtree, unfortunately. Also goodbye Lego Jurassic World, you buggy piece of shit. Thanks for further ruining the license after the movie you're based on did.

  • -4

Way too much effort to save $8

    • +2

Effort? Hand in your Ozbargain Membership. * $18

    • +1

Not really. If youre going to buy the game you just have to bring 2 other games along with you. Worth saving $17 over.

    • The post recommended buying two games online for $12 then going to EB for the sake of saving $8.

      Actually excuse my maths, $7.

Hey I love a bargain don't get me wrong but this is where I weigh up the time and money equation and say nah.

      • Can't we just rock up to eb and price match the BIGW cantaloupe of $39?

        • +1

Big W upped their pricing to $49 and won't be honouring the old price according to someone who works there

        • @groook: and EB/JB etc will no doubt know this and tell their people not to as well, you might get lucky with some doesn't care teenager but i wouldnt count on that being your strategy

        • +1

          @groook:

yep, new catalogue has it at $49 and there are signs up in store stating $39 was a pricing error.

        • +1

@furys12: JB definitely knows, I saw someone on facebook asking if they will be matching Big W's $39, they said no Big W is now $49 too and it was a printing error

        • EB sell cantaloupes now?

        • @TheDukeOfNukem:

hahaha yer got 2 last week

      • +1

Fairly valid opinion but you could have ordered these 2 games in the time it took to write these replies.
They arrive at your door and you just go to EB as normal :D

      • +1

        Saving of $17 actually

  • Two copies of Project Spark on Xbox One?

  • I wouldn't be surprised if you could just reason with the staff to get the game for $30. I've done something similar where I wanted to buy some empty 360 game cases and when they refused I asked them how much it would be if I bought a $4 game and traded it back without the case. They relented and gave me a few cases for free.

  • Where does it say the Singstar games a Australian Versions?? I can't see it

  • I have a game with just the disc itself (no case). Does anyone know whether EB will accept it? Or, it must be with the case and booklet?

    • I expect you would need the case and book as well.

    • +1

Nah, it's not dated, it's actually a very fun and fresh feeling gameplay style.
Gamer types don't like it because it's not a by the numbers, bellow average far cry clone open world game. Or an interactive film with little gameplay like the current 'gamer types' try to push.

      (Sound familiar lad?)

      • -5

        Thats nice.

    • +1

      Like Clockwork.
You know the original PS1 classics are some of the best selling PS1 games on PSN? Of course you wouldn't.

      • -1

I like the PS1 and im fond of the system. Early few Crash games dont hold up that well and get a bit repetitive. Some later ones tried other things but by then the original audience stopped caring. I enjoyed Crash Team Racing, and Crash Bash. Some of my top games i enjoyed were on the PS1. Tekken 3, 2, 1, etc. There were other platformers that were better tho for ps1.

        • +1

Not sure about Australia, but overseas the preorder levels are quite strong. So I'd say the original audience is quite keen.
Either way your assertion about it being 'not much of a deal' simply because you don't happen to like them is simply ludicrous.

        • -4

@fatpizza: Some nostalgia maybe for some, others just buying because perhaps…

Yeah i dont think trading 2 current games for a few HD PS1 games while still having to spend 20 is a great deal, sorry. Feels like EB are being stingy (lol), i suspect these games were cheap on PSN at some point on Ps3/Ps4 (i could be wrong tho). Unnecessary coat of paint aside…

Remove your potential affinity for the games and the platform for a moment and look at it this way:

I have an issue mostly with the EB "trade in" and the games themselves. I dont think its fair to those trading. Feels like a fluff deal.

You can be mad, but thats just what im saying and i think its somewhat reasonable. If it was 4-5 titles, maybe. Trade in deals at EB are quite bad, i generally find JB are better (at times).

Those 2 games should cover most of it. Also in part it is a trilogy of somewhat dated and repetitive type of early 3d platformer. Like i said, other ones from that era hold up better on PS1, etc.

I get they're trying to pad out game retail libraries at stores in the current era due to financial stuff and less big companies like their used to be, with less big releases. The obsession with remasters is getting a bit much.

        • +1

          @BNN:

Feels like EB are being stingy (lol), i suspect these games were cheap on PSN at some point on Ps3/Ps4 (i could be wrong tho).

          https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/06/a-remaster-with-no-ol…

        • -1

@kamoi: A Huh. The games were on PS3, PSP and some for Vita for cheap. Not really big on the HDing a thing. Couldnt really care if they remade the same games entirely with no original code. Im sure they could have released it as it was somehow. Not my problem.

        • +1

          @BNN:

Current games? Like FIFA 14 and NBA 2K14?
Geez, what a shame to be getting rid of those two.

        • +1

@BNN: It'll be a pleasure to get rid of Watch Dogs for something of worth.

Hey, if Nintendo love releasing a HD remaster of their games, why can't other companies?

        • @FabMan: I thought Watchdogs was okay for its more creative hk stuff, id rather play that.

They (Nintendo) shouldnt milk the HD remasters either imo. They generally do tweak some of those games to make them a bit different or play different,

However in obvious cases like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokken it just isn't different enough imo. Some of those Zelda remakes i could do without, unless perhaps tweaking some of the more tedious stuff (but even then it doesnt feel like enough).

Outside of the drastically different versions were it plays significantly different, i find it harder to justify. Especially with every company doing it, rather they just focus on new games. If they want to do reimagings or reboots, it needs to be different enough to justify.

I dont mind handheld to home versions were they switch markets but outside of that, not much.

        • -1

@fatpizza: With those 2 games alone you shouldnt have to pay that extra $20. Those were probably 60-70 dollar games at launch that are still fun for what they are. Especially for HD remasters. I assume those 2 sports games also have multiplayer which some would be already paying for through XB or PS.

If your really that interested in justifying the "deal", fair enough but i just think they should give you the game. Its more then enough.

        • +1

@BNN: I thought Watch Dogs concept was great, the execution was poor. Mechanical concepts for me, with the car sliding about the way it did as a main pain in the bum.

I can understand not liking modifying an older classic, however I probably wouldn't have ever played Wind Waker if the HD version wasn't released, the HD remasters can introduce old games to new audiences, so they have some merit in that alone. Without owning a crap ton of consoles, it's a great way to get the classics into new hands. I know their are options like emulation, used by Microsoft and Nintendo, but that isn't always possible.

        • -1

@FabMan: Yeah the car stuff could have been different, that was a bigger issue. Hacking puzzles and some of the digital trips were a bit better then i thought they'd be.

Im not against releasing older games on Digital Stores as legacy titles, im all for that, just the way these HD remaster/ re-release ports of games are like the "main" event now at times. I get the industry has less big companies, less money and things are expensive to make, its just really ramped up alot the last 3-4 years. They used to be the exception, but they become so frequent now.

Windwaker streamlined some more tedious things things and made some things a bit quicker like the sail, inventory ideas were clever. Though I do think they maybe could have just released the full Gamecube version on the store as a digital thing.

I get it though why they changed things. At least the Metroid 2 reimagining is going to incorporate alot of new gameplay mechanics and ideas to make it a different game. Then again will need to see how different its going to be in the end…

        • +1

@BNN: I would personally like to see a lot of games revamped, not for the graphics necessarily, but gameplay interface has improved dramatically over the years. Many an old game is too painful to replay due to the clunky interfaces they use. Other things too like me getting frustrated over an older game where your character is trapped inside a room because a companion stood in a door way and wouldn't move under any circumstance. Had to reload a previous save, they repeated it next time. Had to dismiss a character, then pick them up again just to walk inside one room. Argh…

        • +1

          @BNN:

If I own Fifa 17 and NBA 2K17 then they are useless to me. Anyways this is all born out of your apparent dislike for Crash Bandicoot games, so your opinion is irrelevant to a vast majority of the people coming into this deal.
So you really should just give it up. But I know you probably won't, so I'll leave you be.

        • -4

@fatpizza: @fatpizza No need to be offended, video games are not that serious. I only click on deals im interested in, unfortunately it wasnt what i was expecting. I understand alot click deals and try to make things console wars on ozb, i personally dont care for that. Just giving an honest take from a video game fan not a "gamer". Nothing to give up.

If you are not interested in responding/commenting, you are free not too. You initially responded. Didn't say i disliked all the Crash games just that the first few arent that good are more of a nostalgia pick up if anything. Take care.

  • +3

Each to their own I personally think it's a good deal if you have a couple of games lying around that you don't intend to play again. I purchased a few Xbox one games in a sale a year or 2 ago for $4 and I don't even own the system so it works out good for me😀

  • Can we give a skylanders game, just the game in a case without cover, book and portal/figures?

  • Did this 1xnba $7 and 1x watchdogs $7.50. Still worth.

  • -2

Is anyone else concerned they are pre-ordering a game that has not been properly reviewed on somewhere like Metacritic? Have we all forgotten No Man's Sky?

    • +2

      No.
I have played these games before.
      You can cancel pre-orders
No man's sky was was obviously going to be mediocre before release.

    • +2

This is basically a remastered version of great games.

    • Critics are generally just working PR for companies or hating a game for not fitting in with what the internet "gamer" crowd and gamer geekdom will accept. They're generally not a good indicator of quality at all. Hence why below average by the numbers games like HZD got inflated scores when it should have recieved 5s 6s across the board at best. Similarly No Mans Sky still recieved inflated scores despite being a total disaster.

Only you can decide whats good for you.

  • +5

Just left eb. Bought Skylanders for $2 and nba2k for $7 then traded in and payed $20.
    Total of $29. OOGA BOOGA!!!!!!!

    • 2 dollar pack where?

      • It was just the game case on Xbox one for half price. It was marked $4.
        OOGA BOOGA!!!!!

        • Hoodaagaabaa
first Bandicoot was the best the amount of hours i put into that together with resident evil would be endless

Honestly if they made a new bandicoot i will sure buy a ps4 just for it no doubt

Last time i played them would of been on my ps3
Bringed back memories might crank over the ps3 again i think

  • +1

Project Spark is a no go! (Xbox One game)

It was a online-heavy game with its servers closed, hence the refusal. I think it's the only one, thankfully.

    • Show them the tweet. EB Games clearly said ANY title.

      • I bet they'll pull a "Management has rights to refuse at their discretion"-kind of reason. That, and it was able to be traded in anyways (since it was a online-heavy game with its server closed).

Doesn't bother me much as my local Cashies have $5 FIFA titles for dayyyyyys.

  • Just went into EB, took in Drive Club and Trial Fusion. Only ended up costing me $17 for crash bandicoot.
