  • Oh x3 is the name? I thought it was a Cocaine Cassie special and you get three pairs.

  • Any thoughts on how this compares to the Jabra Sport Pulse?

    • The Jabra Sport Pulse have a built-in optical heart rate monitor. I went through five of them in one year, and would not recommend buying them if you are looking for reliability. They typically die after a few weeks, probably due to Jabra's faulty battery design.

      • thanks!

Is it that bad? How was the audio quality?

I am ideally looking for something with a HR monitor.

Do you know if the battery issue was fixed with the release of the SE version?

        • Sorry, didn't even know there was a SE version. I am talking the 2015 and early 2016 versions. From memory, the sound quality was acceptable, however, I do not buy sport headphones for SQ. I use them primarily for running outdoors and I do not want them to cancel the outside noise. A lot depends on the individual fit as well.

A bit off topic - Since I stopped using the Jabras, I have been using optical HR on my Garmin watch instead. I have just ordered some $40 bluetooth headphones off ebay in case I need music during my runs again but I wish there were alternatives available other than Sony that have both bluetooth and a built-in mp3 player. Or maybe Garmin could finally build in an mp3 player into their watches.

Get the AirPod instead. Much easier without the cord

I have both, and that is basically the only thing that the AirPod offers that has an advantage over Jaybird.

Regardless the Jaybird isn't uncomfortable at all to wear during a gym session and has superior sound quality. Also my gyms blast quite loud music so isolation is quite important for me and it does that several times better than the AirPods do. And when you factor in the prices it's not even close imo.

Inferior sound quality, not sweat proof, easy to lose, x3 has 8 hours battery life.

The X3 is the best sports Bluetooth earphones on the market, check out all the YouTube reviews.

    • I see now you meant to reply to the apple fan boy :)

  • I got mine this week and they are incredible once you find your correct size of earbud and fun.

Sound equalisation can be changed via an app and it stays with those settings.

Would highly recommend especially at this price

Damn I got it with the $142 Amazon deal =/

Always pays to wait a little bit on ozb!

    • Unlucky, i ordered mine with that deal too. Got an email the other day saying i was being refunded because they couldn't deliver to my address.

      Hopefully these turn up :D

      • ah that's lucky, saved ya $10

they arrivied last week. excellent sound quality.

But the cord is annoying. whenever I turn my head the cord tugs at the earbud. i've tried to tighten it but same problem. pretty annoying actually, i've only seen a few reviews mention this so i assume most ppl have sorted it out?

        anyone else had this issue?

  • For those interested I got this price matched in-store @ JB HiFi Adelaide. They took shipping into account but in the end I got them for $138 which is not bad considering their normal price in JB is $199. Hope this helps some!

    • Post the receipt?

    • Could you please post receipt. Looking to buy a pair cause my headphones just died. Don't wanna wait for shipping.
