    No Band 28

    • This is always a deal breaker with Xiaomi phones. Wondering if it stems from some restriction imposed on them or if it's just ignorance of potential target markets.

      • +3

It's not ignorance. The device wasn't made for our market. You are importing it from China. If they wanted to sell them to us, they'd release them here and make sure it supports our bands.

But they know that outside of the limited market they're in, they open themselves up to patent law which they breach regularly. So their products aren't officially sold here and are not tailored for this market. Their global ROM doesn't let you select any English-as-a-first-language country as your locale, which means they really don't want you to be buying their phones.

    No Global ROM

      • But isn't it pain to reinstall Global ROM?

        • +1

          just 30 mins.

        • @melblover:

They have made it a bit difficult now because just to unlock the Bootloader you need to wait for 72 hours from your first Mi account login on the device.

    Great Deal

Did they finally give these a decent camera? Do you still need to beg to unlock your phone to install the global ROM? Is the global ROM way behind the Chinese one?

    Mi6 for $523 or lg G6 for $503?

    Expert reviews please….

    • I was going to ask the same question

      • Hands down G6 easily

        • -2

          bootloop all the way

    • G6!

    • +3

at least with G6 you may get Bootloop for free.

for me never LG, worst experience ever, especially with the warranty claims.

      • +1

Will never buy another just for fear of bootloop

        • me too

    • It's a wash.

Do you want a better screen or better specs?
