We have this exact same model. Excellent machine

We recently grabbed the WAW32640 which is the slightly bigger model.
Does a good job but it's times are a bit out.
A 2h wash can take nearly 3hrs. Apparently this is common with front loaders but we didn't notice it this much on our last one.

  • Spin Speed Max: 1400rpm

Wow, my Bosch is 1200 and the clothes are almost dry enough to wear.

    • At 1400rpm they are soft enough to eat!

      • At 2000 RPM you can make stir fry with it.

  • Off topic but does anyone have a take on this hoover front loader @ $428? Reviews are mixed.

    • The reviews are so bad on productreview

    • avoid like the plague

      • Any reason why? Apart from high pitched noise when drying which I dont mind I cant find any other faults.

  • OP, probably also mention $5 delivery in the title

  • I bought the Choice Recommended Bosch one from Betta Living in the previous 20% sitewide sale for $750 (8kg). Damn can't hear a thing! So quiet…

    http://www.bosch-home.com.au/productlist/washers-dryers/wash…

which I believe is the same one in Good Guys as http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Bosch-WAT24220AU-8kg-Front-Lo…

Saying that, OP's advertised model is Made in Germany whereas the Choice Recommended one is Made in India.

    • Looked at the specs on both, this has a higher spin speed and lower DB noise, also wanted to try made in Germany however both only have to make it to their two year warranty then your on your own…

  • How do people find using front load washers? The only ones I've ever used are in hotels.. some of them seem to let you open the door during the cycle and some don't..

    • Yep mine always let's me open the door mid cycle. How else do you get to clean the floor at the same time? If I'm lucky I get the soap on my shoes too so they look presentable for work… Really why would you want to open a front loader while its full of water? :) no force fields holding that water in yet!

      • Lol. Obviously not "mid" cycle once it's full of water. But the odd occasion where you need to throw something in just after it's started..

    • some of them seem to let you open the door during the cycle and some don't

The cheap ones don't but the more expensive ones can be paused.

Mine can be paused unless the port window has water and it tells you Yes or No.

If yes, the window is unlocked.

I've never actually had it say no yet as it only has a heap of water in it briefly.

      • Thanks Scab! Good to know. I wasn't too sure how front loaders worked but I didn't think it was full of water the whole time (at least compared to top loaders).

What model Bosch do you have?

          Bosch WAK24160AU.

Awesome machine, had it for about 18 months and it's been flawless.

        • @Scab:

          Thanks mate!

We have this one - older model - with a Siemens badge on the front. Original RRP $1,999!! Over 10 years of flawless service. And yes you can interrupt the wash to add/remove clothing.
