So they will end it anytime they like?

    • +1

      Please read the OP description.

    • +1

      Make another account

      • Would I have to make another ebay account or paypal account or both?

    • Kind of grateful it is only one! :)

  • +1

I would really like to buy a d500, but as I am going overseas soon would really benefit from buying from a retailer that provides a gay invoice. Is anyone aware of such sellers on ebay? Help much appreciated!

    • +19

Would you be interested in a retailer that provides a straight invoice, or you insist only a gay one?

      • +1

        Lol. Gay all the way!

        *Gst - damn autocorrect!

  • Damn it! I resisted the last 3 ebay deals but tonight I ended up buying an lg g6 and thinkware dashcam. Forgive me wallet.

  • Can you only use this code once? Seems after my first time its not letting me now.

    • single use only per account.

      • and it would seem - per household because i just tried to get someone else in my house to buy something and it wouldn't work.

        • More specifically it's single use per paypal account.

        • @mg_k: righto … guessed as much

        • and it would seem - per household because i just tried to get someone else in my house to buy something and it wouldn't work.

How would it be per household? Read the terms and conditions of any similar eBay promotion and it clearly states that you must use a PayPal account with the same email as your eBay account.

  • I tried purchasing two items from the US that will ship to Australia. I was unable to use the coupon code - it was giving me an error saying that it could not be applied (no other explanation).

I contacted eBay chat support. They advised me to complete the order without a coupon code and give them the order + transaction details. They would aim to refund me the difference within 10 - 15 business days.

Fingers crossed it goes through. They said another team would "assess and refund".

    • Is your Paypal account registered in Australia?

      • yes, it is. The order was placed through my eBay Australia account on ebay.com.au too.

    • I got told the deal does not apply to any item in US currency.. Were the items listed in US or AUD?

      • I got it for usd items. Go onto chat. They'll process refund manually

        • I did. They refused to acknowledge the deal outside of AUD currency!
          Pissed me off!

        • @Maz78: yeah I closed the chat and started again. Some of the reps are useless

        • @banzini:
Yeah cheers. Will try another chat rep next time.

  • Does anyone think this promotion will run through the weekend?

    • Nah, it will end tonight.

  • I wish I'd seen that it was only ONE transaction per person during the offer period …

  • Is TIghtArse a guy or a bot….amazing stuff from him/her always!

    • i had over AU$ 1500 in my cart and i was about to check-out too,… ah damn!

nice tactic eBay,… trying to squeeze extra FOMO sales :-D

  • +7

Oh (profanity) off. That's horseshit. Right as I went to checkout.

    • +2

      Too slow

      • At least Cozzie still worked, so I only lost $4 from being late. Still poor form from ebay.

    • +1

Yeah same..that's crap. Thought they would be decent enough to go till midnight

    • Same….. Really annoyed tbh. Especially cos I was hopeful for a 20% off, ended up buying the bullet and still missing out :(

    • Same thing happened to me!!

    • +3

+1! Was going to order once I got home as I was sure it would go till midnight!

  • Expired on 666 votes.

  • +1

So annoyed! tried to checkout a basket of 10 items - but it said 'more than 1 currency in basket' and had no indication which item was in a different currency as it stated everything in AUD. had to manually move things in and out of the basket to find out which items couldn't checkout with the others (2 out of 10). when i figured it out and got to checkout - code had expired. wasted my whole evening selecting items.

    • +1

You're associated so you must have had some idea when it about to end?

      • i have no idea why it says associated next to my name. newbie here and have no link to anyone!

        • OK, fair enough, you should let the mods know.

        • I have unticked "store rep" checkbox for your account. The 'Associated' tag will continue to show on this post, however.

        • thankyou

  • +4

Just as I went to order. Oh well. I guess that by losing the 15% off I saved like $700 dollars so I can't complain.

  • well, saved some money, good or bad?

    • +9

      i saved heaps, didn't buy anything :D

  • +4

Quite frankly eBay lost the plot…random promos and random expiry.

    • +4

      Been to the hairdresser lately?

      • +1

All sources dried up. People got in trouble for the leak.

  • +3

@tightarse When is the next eBay 15% off sitewide? :)

  • +1

Drat. Should have bought it at half time :-(

  • +3

Guys, TREAT code is still active. 10% off

    • Is that a general code for all items? It didn't work for me.

      • +2

        Targeted

      • +2

        It's targeted AFAIK

    • +1

thanks! TREAT saved my ass after missing CRAZY by 40mins

      • Me too! I don't feel so bad now.

  • +2

No time to buy at work, was going to have a look tonight but random expiry. Too bad so sad ebay… and I'd like to retract my +1. Thanks OZB for the update though, wouldn't even know this sale existed otherwise.

  • +1

FARRRRK….just won an auction and the stupid code has expired :'(

  • +1

I just purchased a $1,250- item and went to pay and code had just expired??? What the hell EBAY!!

    • hopefully it was only in your shopping cart ?
and that it doesn't get recorded, as a "Purchase"

    • +1

you apply the code BEFORE hitting pay

  • at what time did the voucher expire ?

    • +3

      9:21pm AEST

      • wow…. i had everything in my cart then.
i was going to pay, and then got distracted by something else…and then a phone call.

oh well, i didn't go through with the AU$ 1000 camera then.

thanks for $aving me money, eBay! :-)

PS: hoping for a secret 11pm -> 11:59pm teaser of a discount coupon.

        • im hoping for that too.

  • +2

Naively expecting it to work til midnight AEST. Luckily the COZZIE works on my purchase. Better than nothing I guess.

  • +2

What THE HELL EBAY?! i thought its until MIDNIGHT !! WTF! i was going to pay for $5000 worth of equipment now i have to cancel many thanks to their no time promo expiration! i expected more from ebay we are like toys to them

    • +1

even with AU$ 5000 purchase, the maximum discount was AU$ 300.

still, i'm in the same situation as you…and when eBay saw the growing amount of sales, after business hours,…decided to pull the plug.

    • What THE HELL EBAY?! i thought its until MIDNIGHT !! WTF! i was going to pay for $5000 worth of equipment now i have to cancel many thanks to their no time promo expiration!

If you're already purchased them you're obligated to proceed with the purchase. Pay and ask eBay for the 15% but the longer you leave it the less likely it is they'll help.

      • you can ask the seller to cancel.

        • -5

you can ask the seller to cancel.

Why should they? I won't cancel a purchase for that reason or pretty much any other especially if it's the only item and the listing was ended.

        • @Maverick-au:

If it's a buy it now then it probably won't make a difference to them. Some sellers are understanding even if they don't have to be.
