Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus Orchid Gray/Maple Gold 64GB Dual SIM Unlocked $794 Delivered @ Quality Deals eBay

1010
CRAZY

Maple Gold

I recon this is a really good price for Galaxy S8 Plus. It's a grey import but QD has been quite reliable in the past and has a good reputation. The gold one is the same price and the Black one comes to $815.

PS: I think it's the first time S8 Plus has been available for sub-800. I love mine, it's a great phone and Samsung seems to have reduced the crap they load on in them.

heading to the right direction. $500 soon!

    • +1

haha yeah, $800 is a really good price as well.

  • Did anyone deal with QD before? Any reviews?

    • there's plenty of deals from QD here in OZb and they are pretty well reviewed!

      • Thank you, I will check it.

Last I recall were warranty claims with the LG G4s bootlooping. People got them back after a warranty claim with an extra like a battery thrown in.

LG G4s were a headache. (I bought 2x LG G4s via different sellers, 1 kogan, 1 another hk seller, kogan provided a store credit, hk seller, 1yr warranty and was returned in working order)

    • +1

I bought my note 5 through them and it's been great. Haven't had any issues with the phone so can't comment on warranty.

    • +2

Confirm they are easy to deal with and respond promptly.

    • +1

i bought s6 from them 2yrs ago, no issue, all good
just bought s8 with them today!

  • +1

the gold ones (8+) are $10 cheaper, Bargin

    • cheers, I'll add that to the OP, it's $20 cheaper actually, good spot :)

      • where can i find the gold one? can you please give me the link?

        Regards

  • Out of stock!

    • more than 10 available, just checked!

  • Does you get to use dual sim and the sd slot? Or do they share and it is either one or the other?

    • I'd think so, no quite sure though

    • It's one or the other

      • right, I thought so too but wasn't sure

  • +1

    Thanks bought one

  • how can i get 1.3% cashback rewards?

    • you kinda have to go through CR and then buy it. Can't do it retrospectively.

I got it yesterday from the last deal for $849 :( but paid with Coles credit card so anyone know if I could claim the price protection for this purchase? and what is the procedure I need to do?

Item location of my item was advertised in NSW. However, it's shipped from Taiwan by DHL Express, received it in 2 days (even bloody faster than Aus Post).

NOTE: My item arrived with QD's seal sticking on top of broken Samsung seal. There were quite a lot of fingerprints at the back of the phone. Upon checking, no scratch, first booted with Set Up screen.

Samsung Pay is not working as it's running Samsung Pay Taiwan framework. Upon scanning my Amex card, it said my card is not supported, only Taiwan-issued cards. Android Pay is running fine (not yet paid in store though).

    • +1

Samsung pay not supported by grey imports.

      • Quite easy to install Australian Firmware though, which then allows Samsung Pay.

        • Yes, but you would lose dual-sim feature. It's fine if you're not going to use 2 Sims.

        • +1

          @willx:

Not sure if it is the case for the S8, I am using S7 with XSA firmware and it supports both 2 sims and Samsung Pay, no worries

    • I'm also interested to know if anyone knows whether QD is claimable with the Coles Price Protection. I've assumed not so would be pleasantly surprised if anyone has experience to the contrary. Thinking of sticking with TGG ebay to ensure I get the price protection.

      • +1

Pretty hard to have lower price than this.

        • agreed, it's a stellar price

        • Right now yes, absolutely. But if price protection counts, it'll be the lowest price from the same seller within the next 24 months that I can claim the difference between.

    • +1

I also bought it from the last deal. I told myself $849 was good enough and it should be the lowest price for a month or so. Then I see this post, what a pain. That's 50 bucks off in just over a week.

      • +1

haha well if it helps, I bought this for $1200-ish I think

  • +1

Just pull the trigger and bought it. Don't think there would be a better price than that by September (bday present for dad) first grey market purchase hoping for the best. Even aussie stock with TRS and eBay coulnt be a price beat

Now to buy a case and Screen protector..

    • +2

try and buy the screen protector and case together, they don't mix well together because of the curved screen.

    • +2

I'd stay away from tempered glass protectors since most of them only adhere around the perimeter.

I've swapped to a Ringke Invisible Defender film which wraps around. It should be compatible with most cases. It comes from Korea if you're ordering off eBay though.

      • how good is the Ringke one mate?

    • Nowadays there's no need to have screen protectors for samsung smartphones. I don't have mine anymore since s7 edge. My friends hate it as screen protectors don't go well with curved screens.

      • this is true for scratches, drops and the like are a different story ;)

    • I did not do any research and bought the Spigen Tough Armor case and the original Samsung film screen protector. Did not work out well. The case pushed the film up and eventually, I can only use the case.

      • +1

true hence my recommendation to buy them together, what happened to you happened to me as well :)

  • +4

Qd is very very good I had an issue with my g4 and they sent a courier to come pick it up. I bought a phone at Mobileciti, went in store waited 30 mins only to be given an address to take the phone to.

  • Anyone knows what processor this one uses

    • +1

      The Exynos 8895

      • So the good one?

        • the two versions are pretty close this year, unlike last year.

        • +1

Most reviews says 8895 is better than sd835. Seems like exynos s8/s8+ comes with UFS 2.1 flash storage

        • @acis39p: I've heard that too, mine is a 835

  • +1

    thanks ordered one.

  • +3

bought one thanks! used my amex explorer for free screen replacement insurance.

  • Is there no black available from them?

    • Black is available as well, slightly more expensive @ $815.

      • The item specified in your input is invalid, not activated, or no longer in our database.

        :(

        • +1

Orite few errors and refreshes later got the black version, my note 3 has really started to do my head in lately :/

        • @Godric: cheers mate!

  • if only the One Plus 5 is not available, i will jump on this straight away.

  • +2

I'm likely just going to go the skin option like DBrand, i hate cases and screen protectors

    • that's a good option as well, I tend to scratch and drop mine so I usually have a tempered glass SP and a case.

  • Tossing up between this and the 6GB / 128GB version. Only problem with the 128GB is that it is the Snapdragon processor - I assume it means we can't put Australian XSA firmware on it?

    • Exynos are better optimized but after a year their performance starts to degrade.

  • (2286 clicks)

    You guys Raped it!

    • haha true that

      • This is Chinese make money and then its a holiday time.

  • Anyone had theirs dispatched yet?

I know we bought it Friday and there is 3 business days before dispatch, but i just messaged the seller and says they are out of office until "7/03/2017" and i don't know if that date is US format so am curious as to when we will actually get it ;P

    • +2

I got a dispatched email this arvo. DHL estimated delivery for Wednesday.. So should be any time now. Must have a lot of phones to ship and I'd say they would want to get them out before going on holidays otherwise people would freak out if they have to wait that long.

      • Oh mad that's awesome.

Yeah i'd think so too, i'm sure they would rather not have an influx in impatient whiny emails in their inbox lol

        • In melbourne still waiting;
"16 Shipment on hold MELBOURNE - AUSTRALIA 15:04"

  • mine got delivered this morning, just need to go home to fondle it.

    • that's brilliant, fast shipping :)

    • Woo Sweet!!!

      Mine is coming tomorrow apparently.

Hows the fondling so far? haha

  • can't go wrong with trusty and fast DHL. and in case anyone asks, you can flash the latest aussie XSA firmware on these grey imports: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G955F/XSA/ which may also enable Samsung Pay.

  • turned mine on and was surprised the latest aussie/eu firmware was already installed even though it came from taiwan and also box was still sealed. screen looks gorgeous!

    • Glad to see it's gone all smooth = D

      • I think this is going to be my first phone that I'm going to rock case free, it's nice and sticky and not slippery as I thought.

        • That's sweet, i will just be using a wrap on mine for the back aside from that nothing else.
