    Audiophile. Bluetooth audio. Pick one

Why not have both at 15% off today;-)

      • You can't have both. You get 1 for 15% off today:-P

        • Depends on how many e-bay accounts the family has…

    • Bluetooth has not reach audiophile status yet.

      • Bluetooth only transmits digital data which the headphone sound chipset receives and converts and plays as sound. It's really up to the quality of the bluetooth headphone sound chip of the quality of the audio playback. Sounds just fine on my JBL Everest 300 Elite bluetooth headphone.

Incorrect. The codecs used are not lossless due to bandwidth restrictions.

Bluetooth compresses the audio stream making it lossy hence why it doesn't sit well with audiophiles.

        • @m9:

I didn't say it was lossless audio data transmission, i just said that the data is received by the headphone and played through its audio chipset. Some bluetooth headphones don't sound as good as better ones due to less better sound chips.

It's really up to the quality of the bluetooth headphone sound chip of the quality of the audio playback.

But it's not. You can use the best DAC chip but if you send FLAC over Bluetooth, you will end up decoding compressed lossy audio.

          @m9: Good information. Thanks.

  • The ha2 isn't needed I've found. Plus I don't like carrying extra stuff if I can avoid it

I figured the deal makes the ha2 pretty cheap and will mainly be used with my lappy.

  • I use these cans for my daily commute on the train and I find that these can get plenty loud without a HA. I'm using an iPhone 7 Plus to drive the cans.
Plus I think they're only 26 Ohms so IMO don't really need HA.

    • So did you see any noticeable difference with the amp?

      • I don't personally own the Oppo HA2. However it's only going to really boost the signal coming into the HA, not change the quality of the sources signal.

So if you're only going to use these cans with Spotify, Google Play Music etc, using a HA isn't going to make it sound better, only louder.

I got mine from Aussie Hifi for those that might only want the cans without HA.

  • Hey mostlygordon,

No need to tick associated if you're not associated with eBay/Jaben Audio.

Also what do you mean by affiliate - as in Techradar.com/Whathifi.com have affiliate links on there?

    • I figured I spend so much money here, I may as well join the eBay affiliate program to help fund my OzBargain habit. LOL

      • Oh haha I see, sorry but as per guidelines you won't be allowed to squeeze in affiliate links.

  • really wish there is a deal for HA2se
