At these prices i take it all very seriously.

Perth <> Melbourne during the sale period 8-May to 24-May-2018 are all $159 minimum each way. What a scam.

Now they have changed it to Saturday Flight fever without any stipulated dates. Must have been for last Saturday, because every Saturday that I searched for the next 12 months is $179. Rogue.

      • Could you also see a rtn, Perth to Melbourne for $49?
There's nothing Perth to Melbourne 08/05-25/05

I went through everyday And at any time. If you do see something, please let me know.

        • There were flights available when nocure posted. Can't see the return leg now at $49.

buy separately one way May 12 - Perth to Melb then May 18 - Melbourne to Perth

        • @melay0326:
Thanks. I missed out. I did note it said only 50 seats available.

    • They run these deals on a Saturday b/w 12pm-4pm.
That's why they call it "Saturday Flight Fever".

It's not a reference to when the flights are actually timetabled to fly, dummi.

      • I can see why you're Angry, Chicken.

  • They release the offers next day after I purchase my tickets! Great

Let us know the next time you are planning to buy please

  • These deals are a bit like gambling.

Tiger Nightmare! Dropped off my mates (6 of them) this morning for the brissy flight.. Only to get a call back from them as their flight was cancelled. They are pissed as they are booked to watch the boxing fight tomorrow. They are still struggling to find a flight. What a nightmare!

    • Yeah they're pretty notorious.
Mates of mine had a flight Syd-Mel cancelled on a Fri, and were offered seats on a Mon or something - they were only going down for the weekend … and that's a major link …

    • +3

I would NEVER book tiger if time was critical. They lack the spare aircraft and alternative flights if one is cancelled.
Qantas cancel too, but the delay until next flight is much less.
Fine for a casual break though, at these prices. Make sure your accommodation bookings are refundable.

      • Oh shit.
I'm booked in August pertthh to Sydney/Coffs and in February Perth to Sydney.
Timing for August is the only time I have, all that I'm allowed and both of us have booked time off work and are relying on those dates.
Please donr let me down TigerAir

I've flown with them at least 10 times to all major cities and not once have I had a cancellation or even memorable delay. YMMV, but I wouldn't worry.

I had the choice of Tiger or Virgin in March to Melbourne. I took the cheaper option and went with Tiger. No problems. When I turned up at the airport the Virgin flight was canceled.

According to official statistics, Tiger was more reliable in 2016 than Qantas, Virgin, and Jetstar.

        https://bitre.gov.au/statistics/aviation/otp_annual.aspx

        Cancellations (%):

        Tiger 0.9
        Virgin 1.9
        Qantas 1.2
        Jetstar 1.9

The only downside is Tiger has only one or two flights to each destination per day. Miss that flight and you're not flying for a few days. No good for a weekend trip.

        • Tiger has only one or two flights to each destination per day. Miss that flight …

          Exactly! Not a small matter.

Thanks op. Looks like I'm finally going to Perth, for the first time in my life.
Melb <> Perth return <$100 just seems really, really rare. Even though I'll be arriving Perth airport post-midnight, lol.

    • That's about how low it ever gets with these deals…

      • Yeah, I think I've only seen this price once before over a year ago.
Reason why I haven't been to Perth yet is cause I've found for the same price as a "sale" fare to Perth (~$200), I might as well go NZ/Syd/Bris/GC. With Jetstar's newer routes and sales, I've found for an extra hundred I could be in Tokyo/Saigon/Bali… so I just never found as much value in visiting Perth until today.

        -> thanks again, Nocure

        • Some of those international flights are just crazy.
About a year ago - that's around the last time i saw it.

Never been to WA either, but i took a trip to Uluru in Feb, and Cairns in Mar because of these kinds of deals, but sometimes i miss them - the booked flights i mean…

Once they do Perth at this price at a better time for me (which is sometimes different to the masses) then i'll be taking it too.

I love Tiger, yet never flown with them…

        • @AngryChicken:

Please come to visit WA, we'd love to have you :)

        • @GregRust:

Don't you guys in WA have KFC?

        • @GregRust:

          Oh, i've acquired a groupie!
I happen to have a vacancy.

I like to have honey on my weet-bix in the morning and my feet rubbed just before bed.
