great device (amazing battery life); app has just been updated and improved

  • Finally bought after about a year of trying to decide.
    Crosses fingers

  • What is the delivery time like?

    • +1

Not too sure about this product but when I ordered a cable from them it didn't seem to take long at all, they have a fairly good reputation.

      • I bought another one of these on the 27th of June and it is supposed to be here tomorrow according to the tracking. Normally about two weeks max for most orders I have found, I live in country Victoria so +1 day for me as im outside metro.

  • +1

Is it accurate to monitor sleep at night?

    • I've found it to be extremely accurate, had mine for about a year or so.

    • +1

unless you have something else to compare it to, then I guess its pretty accurate…
it tells me what time I went to bed and what time I woke up.
      last night I had;
      - 2.04 hours of deep sleep
      - 6.10 hours of light sleep
      - 10 mins of awake time
      - went to bed at 11pm and
      - awake at 7.24am

      • Thanks for information, let me go to the site ..

    • From my experience I found the accuracy of sleeping monitor has a limitation since the 1s generation.
      - It doesn't understand when you have a few hours nap in the afternoon.
      - At night time when you wake up in the middle of the night for a period of time and sync the mi band in the morning, it's only recording the last sleep. But if you wake up just for bathroom usually it is able to understand you awoke for a short period of time.
Then if you woke up in the middle of the night and sync your band then it will only record the previous sleep and will not recognise the next sleep.
      Hope this make sense. :D

      • thanks for information again

    • It was telling me that I was waking for lengthy periods when as far as I knew I was sleeping. Lately that problem has disappeared. Don't know why. Othewise seems accurate. None of the problems that esdarwin is reporting.

      • The issue is persist on mine and just last night I fall a sleep at 10ish and woke up at 2ish then got back to sleep again around 4ish and when I sync it this morning it only detected I fell asleep at 4.30am.
This is quite interesting to know. Are you using app from app store, google play or using APK?

        Ta

        • I'm using something called Mi Band Master from google play. It's the only one I've tried.

  • "Delivered"

  • Thanks bought one.

  • Can you use PayPal to buy it, never use the site before..

    • Yes you can, just ensure that you go to checkout and add the coupon first.

      • thanks, last question, how long will take to delivery? i am planning a trip next week…

        • +1

I doubt you'll get it by next week.

        • @lostn: thanks, ordered one for 24.98, haha. So compared to talkband2, which one is better

  • How do they measure heart rate from a wrist?

  • How does this compare with fitbit?

    • 1/4 the price..

fitbit 2 has battery life of like 5 days if you're lucky, my mother easily gets over a month with her mi band2.

    • +1

I had one of these Mi Band 2's.

The heart rate meter was very inaccurate, you can use it as a guide, but expect errors of up to 20% or more when exercising.

Fitbit might not be much better - there is currently a class action in the US based on how inaccurate they are.

It is an interesting toy, but don't expect a medical grade device.

      • Yeh the heart rate monitor is basically hot garbage, and it's not continuous so you have to press the button and go to the menu item every time you want to do it.

For steps it's accurate enough, sleep tracking is great, notifications are great (tells you who is calling etc), and the battery life is unbeatable. I easily get 3 weeks out of mine even with notifications from my most used apps.

        • You can use an app on your Android device to record hr continuously. I think that cruels battery life though. I haven't tested hr but I think it's more for relative measurement ie relative to what you were an hour ago or relative to yesterday.

        • @AlbyDuck: Yeah I've heard about being able to do it, but yeh, drops it from weeks of battery to hours or days at most.

        • @AlbyDuck:

Yup, I have Tools and Mi Band which can do continuous, but I do 2 min intervals. Battery still lasts well over a week in that mode.

          https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak…

        • @lozza6: I don't know how I missed that one in the Play Store. It looks a bit more polished than Mi Band Master. Higher rating too. Pity I've already paid for Mi Band Master.

        • @AlbyDuck:

Can't say i've tried the master, but after a bit of googling, this did seem to be the best. I like it and it appears to be the only way to link Sleep as android to your mi band for activity tracking.

        • Mi Fit 3.0 update just came out with options to start tracking when you are engaged in an activity. I will test it out during park run tomorrow.

        • @NE1WeKnow:

Just confirming for anyone who is interested that the Mi Fit app provided continuous heart rate monitoring during my run and provided a chart at the end plus advice on how long I was in different heart rate bands ie aerobic, anaerobic, VO2 max

    • My Fibit Charge HR went to trashbin after less than one year's usage, irreplaceable wrist band that broke down and even damaged the internal circuit, making it an expensive toy by my standard. So I don't want to give any more money to the company. If Mi band's build quality is on par with Fitbit, I won't complain.

      • +1

Its better quality…. fitbit is crap.

      • +1

This also happened to me. First Fitbit Charge HR lasted less than a year and was replaced under warranty as the band started falling apart. About 9 months later the exact same thing happened to the replacement they sent me and I vowed never again after they refused to help out a second time.

Going to give this Mi Band a try. I like the idea of the SMS and app notifications as this was one thing I really found lacking on my Fitbit model.

  • +2

Damn that's a good price. Not sure if I should grab another on top of the 4 I have right now :/

    • +5

      One for each limb?

    • 9% Cashback with Cash Converters??

      Cash Converters

Are you going to sell this?

      Did you mean Cashrewards?

      • Cash Converters

Are you going to sell this?

Terrible return if he only gets 9% of the price back. :p

  • +2

Finally pulled the trigger, though my miband 1 is still working alright after almost 2 years.

  • Great price! Got myself one :)

  • Thanks. Last time I went to buy one the code expired with it in my cart. Not this time though.

  • +3

Good apps to use instead of the original, which has access to some very sensitive data.

    • Gadgetbridge
    • Mi Band Master
    • Don't you need the mi fit app running to get the data in first place?

      • Not with those two. They work independently.

        • Sweet. My old one broke, fingers cross it was 1 in a million fault and the next one lasts long.

Also, I've always wanted to use continuous heart rate monitoring to calculate how many calories burned in the gym. Do any of the apps offer this feature (and does it even exist in the world of health watches)?
          Ty.

        • @TheOneWhoGotAway:

Mi Band Master offers continuous and interval monitoring. Not sure if Gadgetbridge does, not using it atm because sleep tracking doesn't work with the latest firmware.

  • I've owned this and the miband 1. Both were good, however I lost both when they fell out of the wristband. I don't know if the aftermarket straps work better.

  • +1

Can I wear it while I am swimming?

    • +1

IP67 Protection = Rain, splashing and accidental submersion. It is fully protected from dust and can also withstand being submerged in 1m (about 3.3 feet) of static water for up to 30 mins. So not really but sorta.

      • +1

I wear mine in the shower without issue.

I probably wouldn't swim with it though.

        • Yeah I've worn mine in the shower every day for going on 12 months, haven't had any issues with it.

  • Thanks OP bought one.
Will probably be here before my Mi-Box from light in the box.

  • Just bought another.. it came for 25.11 though..

    • I picked one up on behalf of my cousin and used the USD rates. I typically find the card rates are better than the banggood conversion rates.

  • Loving mine! Unbelievable functionality for so little $$

I also got tools and mi band as well as sleep as android. Working all 3 together is great and all syncing with google fit.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak…
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid…

Note, you need to have tools in order to use mi band tracking in sleep as android

  • Still haven't received mine either. Already received the ones from Cafago on Monday and those were ordered around a week later.

  • Received mine this arvo. The box looks a bit different to the one received from Cafago tho. For those who are using theirs from here these are not fake right? Bought to give away as gifts so can't open em.
